  1. Hi Maximilian, I would never reduce the heel height! Because of several reasons: 1. My own experience is that the heels of my boots often tend a little bit to bend forward ("kicking under"). Especially if guys are wearing them on the street. May be because we aren't walking like female cat-walk models who are putting their heels and the foot balls simultanously onto ground. 2. In street walking the heels have usually the first contact to the ground. The normal walking style with rolling foot steps. Therefore my block heels are always worn-up at the rear side. Reducing the height of the heels would make the problem only worse. 3. I agree to the others. Four inches aren't the ultimate challenge. It's my favourite height for alldays street heeling. Practise a little more and later you will be glad to have never misshapened these wonderful boots  micha PS If they should be simply too high for you and bigger than EU 43 rsp. UK 9 send me an offer - I'll buy them at once for any reasonable price!

  2. It would be a toss-up between my stack heeled boots by Isabella Anselmi (have 'em in brown and black) and a wonderful pair of pointy stiletto boots by Via Spiga.

    Posted Image

Both pairs are made of Italian leather with the first being bought from Overland Footwear and a rather delightful woman from Mia Piaci sold me the second.

I wear both styles often, altho the VS points are a more dressy boot, they still work with jeans if the need arises..

    Jim

Both are fine styles. I prefer the brown boots but the black ones are also a stylish way for courageous guys!

  3. I'm performing simply my own show in Frankfurt. I know that there are several guys in Frankfurt with the same passion for high heels but they don't dare to answer. Their problem - not mine. By the way: I don't like surveys like "who of you has spotted guys on high heels?". Always the anonymous others have to do YOUR job ...

  4. These are verry comfortable i can wear them the hole day

    Posted Image

Oops - my beloved 4'' cowgirl boots from Evans/Essence for my alldays street heeling  They are really comfortable in UK 9 even with my EU 44/45 feet. I were completely happy if they were made from true leather! But how said Mick Jagger?

"You can't get always every thing"

  5. rather expensive but they last for years - Dan

    Exactly my experience.

Very expensive but they are the money worth! I didn't like the style of the heels (model Palma) and replaced them by my own selfmade wooden 4'' stacked heels. A perfect french-german collaboration  I'm wearing them since years on the street - simply undestroyable!

  6. well this is not perfect, but i dont got anything better(yes it is a skirt):

    Hi Griez,

you are obviously a real gothic fan! But what kind of shoes are you wearing under your long skirt? IMHO laced platform boots are not a bad choice. In your place I would prefer black cowgirl boots with high skew block heels, the style that dr1819 likes so much. I'm no gothic fan but I like black outfits too: a leather jacket together with tight leather or shining pu/pvc jeans and naturally high heeled boots ... not an alldays outfit for the street but still one of my most beloved styles

  7. Is it possible that I have voted in this thread and have never written an answer (*confused*)? I'm sure to have voted for yes. Why should a 1.90 m big guy (6' 4'') be unlucky about his EU 44/45? This shoe size is matching perfectly to my body height. Only the offers of the most shoe sellers aren't matching to my feet :wavey: Sometimes I'm also successful in Ebay beyond the usual fetish styles. May be that my passion for heels is an expensive hobby - but my feet are quite OK! micha (*still a penguin with happy feet in spite of my type-I-diabetes*)

  8. I had to get something today at Nordstrom so I thought, what the heck...I'll go in my new heels. I took a different pair - much higher and spikier, put them on, and walked right into the store. Nobody really paid attention on the way in and the store was pretty empty. I made my purchase and started to walk out the door. A pair of women walked around a corner and heard/saw me in the heels but didn't have much reaction other than a quick smile. I turned around as I opened the door and saw one of them checking me (and my heels) out. She saw that I caught her looking. I gave her a quick knowing smile, then she smiled and turned around. I turned and headed out. It was fun! I didn't think I had the guts to go out in obviously women's shoes in public. To date, anytime I wear women's shoes out (all the time), they are either very andro, or I have on long pants that would cover them up. This (and yesterday) were the first times that my girly shoes were obvious

Nice story and nice pumps, Katrina!

I like the thin platform soles. In my experience shoes with these soles are much more comfortable to wear on real street pavement. On the other side they are looking as elegant as pumps or sandalettes with the usual thin leather soles

  9. My whole family knows that I'm wearing high heels. I have written here some years ago about my very first outing on stiletto boots at a family meeting. Hence I need not anymore to be afraid of meeting my sister or my mom by accident in the main shopping mall of Frankfurt

  10. hhds, pink??? wow.. i never got the guts to wear pink boots in public and in fact i don't own pink boots.. hehe :wavey:

I voted for black. But where is "hhds" to whom you answered? Deleted?

At least I'm wearing 8-cm-cowgirl boots from pink suede leather regularly on the street. They are matching fine to my light blue miss sixty drainpipe jeans and a narrow white muscle shirt. No reason for placing a "lol".

btw: you have completely forgotten the white colour

  11. Hi

Today was a historic day for me. I found the courage to go out in heels for the first time.

It was the spur of the moment thing, although I was gathering the courage to go out for quite some time. I wanted to go see Shrek 3 in my local multiplex and suddenly I thought what a better place to go heeling for the first time, a dark movie theatre.

I had to decide what pair of heels to wear. The options were either my Coniac Charles David knee high pointed toe boots with an indent heel or my newer Black Via Spiga square toe knee high boots with blade heels.

I thought that the Charles David boots would attract less attention because of the heel sound and shape (they make a heavier noise and could probably pass as higher heeled cowboy boots). The Via Spigas may have a square toe but the heel shape and noise are an immediate giveaway that I'm wearing heels. My pants won't have completely covered either of the heels.

In the end I convinced myself "no guts no glory" and since I preferred the look of the Via Spigas with a nice pair of pin striped black tailored pants, I chose them.

The via Spigas have a 4 inch heel and I'm quite comfortable walking in them, especially after getting used to walking in 4 inch stilettos. Nevertheless, not only was it my first time ever out of the house in a pair of heels on, it was also the first time driving in them.

It was actually very comfortable driving in them and I was so pleased! When I finally got to the multiplex parking lot I started getting cold feet because there were lots of cars there. I was pissed and surprised because it's bloody 22:30 on a Monday night. What are people doing there at this hour?!

Anyway, I took a deep breath and exited the car. It was just my luck that a bunch of people exited the multiplex and headed to their cars just when I was heading in. Every heel step sounded like an atomic bomb going off in my head. None of the people even bothered to look though.

What made matters worse for me was that just before I went in, this lady appeared from nowhere and asked for some spare change! I gave her a 5 and went in.

Nobody was in line to buy tickets so that went smoothly.

I was more relaxed after buying the tickets. I can't tell you how pleasing it was to walk inside the multiplex on a marble floor and hearing the noise of my heels. I could barely hide my smile when disaster almost occurred, I slipped! Luckily I gained my balance immediately and didn’t fall. I didn’t hear any giggles though (only in my head).

The theatre was barely full, only a few young couples and a group of teenagers (oh oh). Once in my seat though, I was all smiling and happy with my decision to wear heels. The movie was ok but not as good as the first 2. Who cares, I was much more satisfied with my personal accomplishment.

At the end of the movie I was the last to leave (didn’t want any stupid teenager remark). Since the multiplex is located in an outlet area, I decided to take a walk. It was half past midnight and no one was around, just me and the noise of my heels. Boy was that fun!

I'll always remember this night and I hope that it is a beginning of a long tradition of street heeling on my part. I just hope it will become easier over time until the day I'll find it completely natural and weird that people actually make any remark regarding my heels.

Good luck to all you guys out there who are longing for the courage to go out. I hope my first experience will bring you one step closer out the door. You can't compare it to wearing heels at home, it's much better!

    Hi Max,

for me it's always again a pleasure to read others experiences about your first outings on the street:clap:

Your story remembers me to my own kamikaze outing when I was daring the first time in my life to wear really high heeled boots in public. It was a late saturday afternoon of may in the city of Wiesbaden when I was standing with over 5'' high white block heels at a main crossing with a red light and more and more people accumulated there - me becoming more and more nervous. My jeans legs weren't long enough to hide my heels. I expected to be slaughtered but nobody gave a bad comment. When the traffic light switched to green I had the worst expectations:nervous: A crowd of cars were waiting at the zebra stripes and they all illuminated my white heels when I crossed the street. Eeeeh - they all must see my heels!?!

Nothing happened - naturally they all have seen me and some people in the waiting cars have guaranteed cried out "Look at this crazy guy, he is wearing high heels!"

The whole story took place 6 years ago. Today I'm wearing high heels regularly on the street and in my supermarket during doing my daily purchases. I was also glitching on the stone floor of the shop. Several people were seeing it. Like you I managed it luckily not to fall on my ass. Nevertheless I grew red like a tomato. But how many girls have experienced the same situation!? A broken heel isn't anymore only a special problem of girls but in future also for us guys:mecry:

  12. Last night i go out to see the wolrd premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I resolve to try wear some of my heels, because certainly i'll not find anyone woh knows me and i can walk without preocupation... I wear this outfit below and i feel great... The only problem, was the people looking me all the time... but i can survive and nobody known noticed me.

    Thx

    Hi gony,

I'm a fan of matching colour combinations. Silver sandalettes, a black and white undershirt, anthracite jeans and a grey sweatshirt - a perfect choice for your silver metallic car

Today I was wearing my anthracite coloured MS60 hip jeans combined with a broad white belt, a black muscle shirt and black chucks with white soles on the street. Believe me, I sacrificed my usual heels only for the perfect black and white outfit!

  13. My problem is the same as many other guys have. The feet are big and the shoe sizes are small:mecry: Hence barefoot is my first choice. No problem with sandalettes or boots made from a smooth and breathing true leather. Searching for heels in shoe shops I usually pull on a nylon pantyhose. It's looking nicer when trying the shoes on, it's more hygienic and it's easier to enter pull-on-boots. Only in two pairs of bigsized manmade material boots I'm wearing sometimes male socks or even thick wool socks. As protection against sweating feet or the coldness in the deep winter. After one day of wearing they are ripe for the washing machine. Obviously the industry has still problems with creating breathing synthetic materials. There is still another problem: on very high heels the pressure on the footballs is no pleasure. Therefore I'm wearing often inlay soles. But narrow boots combined with insoles and additional socks: that's simply too much (*ouch*) My summary: barefoot or pantyhoses! Socks only for manmade materials or sneakers.

  14. Wow that's new one. I never heard people bitch about the size of the countries. Usually people are angry that the eastbock votes for eachother ever though the west votes for them as well.

I think people are taking the results WAY to seriuosly. Why not just enjoy the music ?

    Hi Pumps,

when writing my criticism about the european song contest I was thinking more about the situation in the European Union. The contest does'n interest me really but it's an alarming signal that something is going wrong in the EU.

In my opinion we need urgently a common constitution! At the moment every small country of the members is able to block important decisions against a majority of more than 99%. In every democratic country we have the accepted rule "one (wo)man - one vote". Not "one country - one vote" and no veto right of a small minority. In Germany a 2/3 majority in the parliament (Bundestag) has the right to change our constituion.

I know that the EU is a complicated special case. Never in the history a big collection of sovereign states decided to found a common union. We cannot compare the EU (26 states) with the USA (50 states). Europe is a loose union of numberless cultures and languages. Correct me if I'm wrong: we have more languages in the EU than members! Similar different are the political or economical interests of the members.

Therefore it's absolutely necessary to make clear what are national rights and what are european rights. Has Slovakia the right to attract european investors with income taxes below 15 % or has Luxemburg the right to insist on banker's discretion. They behave like parasites in the EU and they know it. The people from Switzerland voted against a EU membership because of the banker's discretion and the norwegians because of their oil reserves.

The future EU can only be a mixture of the "one man, one vote" principle and a veto right of small members. For example a veto right for states with at least 20% of the inhabitants and the agreement of at least 80% of the population to change the common constitution. In the first case the majority has to accept the veto, in the second case the minority has the duty to match their own constitution eventually to the new european right. Alternative they have still the possibility to leave the EU.

Coming back to the original issue: Why not dividing the participating countries of the european song contest in three categories? Below two million inhabitants 10 points to give away. Below twenty million inhabitants 20 points to give away. The rest of countries all 30 points. This is a simple system which is a fair mixture between the rights of minorities and majorities.

    nice greetings

micha (*tending to post sometimes off topic*)

  15. Well, whatever the male French singer's motives, it was great to see a straight male singer representing his country in front of 150 million viewers wearing high heels. They were semi-chunky heels between 3" and 4" in height. Well done to him!

Sadly the Danish transvestite "DQ" didn't qualify in his red stiletto court shoes, but as reported, we did see the Ukraine's transvestite's lead singer in his silver Oxfords with 3.5" Louis heels.

All in all, with several male lead singers (transvestite and otherwise) in high heels, and with quite a few male dancers and side-singers in 2"+ heels (mostly knocked out in the semifinal), I thought the 2007 Song Contest did quite a lot to promote the cause of male heel-wearing.

    Cheers, Heelfan

    Hi Heelfan,

I agree with you - its very helpful for my own heels wearing on the street when 150 millions people in Europe see that the big stars are wearing the same footwear!

In former times the european song contest was a boring institution with boring songs which never had any chance to appear in the international charts. The only exception was ABBA. But slowly the times are changing. Even if I don't like the predominance of small eastern european countries concerning the voting, I have to admit that these countries are always good for a surprise concerning the outfit, the style of music and the quality of music.

In the 90ies I visited together with friends the traditional open air festival at the castle of Friedberg near by Frankfurt. More by curiousity we went together to the stage where a russian group was announced. After the concert we all were convinced that they were the highlight of the festival - not only us! Sorry, I cannot remember their name anymore and I don't know if this group still exists but they were wonderful. The most songs were in russian but that was OK even if a understood nearly nothing (two terms of a russian course at my university *grin*). The russian language has not deserved to be reduced to a caricature of KGB agents from a James Bond film. IMHO Russian is a melodious language as my own language. Both languages have not deserved to be subsumed under the caricatures of old second world war or cold war propaganda movies.

Today I'm seeing in TV a russian girls group styled as sexy school girls and an ukrainian glitter band with a crossdresser as lead singer. I'm happy that eastern Europe has entered the club!

  16. Hey Flavio, if you are living in the south of Brazil, you should enjoy the coming "winter". I know that you have no real winter. But may be, that is the right time for wearing high heeled boots :wavey: nice greetings from Germany, micha PS: Our april in Germany was completely crazy. Sometimes it was like a typical german summer. Nearly 29 degrees Celsius - absolutely sandalettes wheather! In the july of 2003 we had in my hometown Frankfurt for several weeks over 40 degrees. Now I'm pondering really if you had ever in the tropical Manaus at the Amazonas similar temperatures as in Frankfurt. There must be something wrong with our climate

  17. I voted for "May be". It's my own decision if I like to polish my foot nails. It's not necessary for wearing sandalettes as a guy. I have sometimes let grow my finger nails very long and have painted them together with my toes in light blue metallic or gothic black. But that's my own style in public - look at my motto

  18. Just seen the lead singer of the French entry, dressed in male attire definately wearing heels.Look like at least 3inch block heels.

If i can get a capture later i'll put it up.

Hmmh, I have also just seen the song contest. May be that I didn't pay attention when the French contribution was running. But the singer from the Ukraine team - this troop with a crazy silver glitter outfit- appeared to me more to be a transvestite than a girl :wavey: . She or he was wearing definetely high heels! The Ark from Sweden with their singer in a Tokio-Hotel-Outfit were also not bad.

In my opinion the hungarian and the bulgarian contributions were the best from a musical standpoint of view.

    micha

ps: I'm annoyed about the mode of voting. Every little republic has the same weight, even Andorra or Malta! This contest has decayed to a balkan contest. Russia has 160 millions inhabitants, Germany 80 millions and France, UK, Italy over 50 millions. How many inhabitants have Malta, Andorra, Makedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Moldavia, Estonia, Latvia, Lhitunia, Bosnia, Albania and Cyprus together? Still much less than Spain ....

  19. Let's say for sake of argument that one of the big shoe suppliers(i.e. 9West or Steve Madden) has decided to introduce a line of high heels directed to men. These would be anotomically corrrect and be offered in widths more in line with the man's foot. So what styles would they choose? My guess would be an oxford and an ankle boot. Any other thoughts out there?

    Hi mskim61,

what is your real interest with your question?

    "What would they choose?" or

"What do I wish that they should choose?"

The answer to the first question is quite simple. All shoe styles with a slight chance to create an accepted teen boy fashion. For example platform boots with block heels and a rounded toe box, cowboy boots with raised heels, ankle boots with cuban heels, sneakers with platform soles and clogs. These styles are all well known since the 70ies: platform boots in the Elton John rsp. Abba style, crazy mexican cowboy boots, the Beatles ankle boots and the Buffalo sneaker boots in the early 90ies (including the 4'' towers) and the old sweden clogs. At the moment I can't imagine that they would ever offer thin heels for guys. They want to sell shoes and to earn money.

Since fashion styles are repeating typically all 20 or 30 years there should be a good chance for us to find one of these styles a little bit modified again in the next years ;)

My answer to the second question is even much simpler: I were completely satisfied if the shoe companies are offering some of their best selling girls models also in male sizes:clap:

micha (*still hoping before I have died by an old age desease*)

@Dr. Shoe: I agree to you, my favourite shoe collection is allso a compromise. Between my fashion style, the offer of the shoe companies, my courage in publicity and social necessities. At work I would never wear fetish styles. All things at the right time!

  20. Not sure if anyone has seen this article from Portland, OR posted in march 2007 on men in heels?

    http://blogtown.portlandmercury.com/2007/03/high_heels_for_men.php

Cool pics and style, especially the last two. The comments posted are predictable!

    david

An interesting link. But the comments are typical stereotypes from guys. No, no and no! I dare to reply to my gender comrades in the same manner. You all are cowards negating your interest for high heels by crying loudly: no, no and no! Why otherwise are you posting comments in the world wide web? To enlighten the world about ill minded guys or because you are yourselves interested in this subject ;):o

    micha

  21. i would think that if you were to compare pricing from any of the semi custom high heel manufacturers(Leatherworks, Italian Heels,6 inch heels forever...) my guess would be they are fairly close. One of the big advantages is that most let you choose color and material, plus they will last you a lifetime. The pricing doen't seem all that bad to me considering the advantages.

    Hi Mskim61,

thats always the question. It's really not easy to maintain a shoe shop with an individual or a fashionable style against Pleaser. They are importing the classical fetish footwear from China at low prices and in a reasonable quality. I'm also an owner of the 8868 thigh high boots like many of us.

But that could never be the ultimate solution. Small companies like the former LSB - now La Piazza, Italian Heels rsp. Punitve Shoes, Jean Gaborit, Fuss-Schuhe, Shoes USA, Zoccoli and the Steven Madden oversizes are simply a duty in the world wide market for us guys. Even if they are very expensive they are earning a little bit support for offering their collections also in male sizes. Not to forget the classical british oversize shops like Evans/Essence and Next shoes!

It's the destiny of high heels wearing guys to pay a little bit more for fashionable shoes than the girls. Not just funny but I can live with this situation.

    micha
