1. well,I for one only like "intelligent" remarks from others when they ask what in my mind are MUNDANE or STUPID type questions, its really better if they had not asked OR said ANYTHING to me @ all! ( a lot of people dont seem to have much in the way of BRAINS when they will blurt out stuff like this.)

Hi demonia, my own experiences aren't always the best. Nevertheless, I'm always again astonished about the so-called "normal" people. Last year I played with the team of my chess club a match in the countryside nearby Frankfurt. I dared to pull on my 4'' wedge boots. Everybody saw that I'm wearing high heels. The members of my club know my "odd" fascination for high heels. But the others - even my opponent - behaved to me as I would wear the most normal shoes of the world. Never any bad comment!

My young turkish neighbours are typically more intolerant. But I believe to have trained them successfully to more tolerance. The last insult on the street is already one year ago :santa_hat:

    micha

  2. UHHHHHHHHH YES,

and everywhere were only heroes seen... they click clack down every street and nonody register what they do...----))))

    sorry guys ...it's unbelivable... lol

anyone must go his way ..equal how long this way could be...

    Shortskip

    Sorry Shortskip,

I'm wearing high heels often on the street. If you don't believe me I would like to invite you for a common tour on high heels in the main shopping mall Zeil of my hometown Frankfurt. Believe me: almost everybody will notice our unusual footwear :santa_hat:

  3. She's so right .. Always when visiting oversize shoe shops for women I'm getting a hammer blow on my forehead. Either the shoes are endless ugly or endless expensive. Usually they are both :santa_hat: As a 6 inch girl I were greatful for the support of us guys. It's a pity, the most tall girls believe that they are not built for wearing high heels. But what shall I say? I'm already without heels 6' 4'' tall! micha (*at least EU 44/UK 10/US 12 and always again sending stubborn complaint mails to my favourite shoe companies*)

  4. Hi HappyFeat, I have bought the big majority of my heels at Ebay. For several reasons - its a comfortable way of buying shoes - its the best way to find heels in my size contrary to the usual "vacuum" or "ugliness" in the big size shelfs of a normal shoe shop (btw: there was a mistake in my last answer, I have forgotten the word BELOW before my size 44/45) - often I have saved a lot of money at Ebay: for example a girl with EU 41 has bought fashionable boots in 42 because they were only offered in 42 but she was obsessed to have them and now they are simply much too wide ... a real 43. Thats always a chance for the night hawk micha for bidding! Or a guy who has bought secretely stylish high heels from Italian Heels in his size 45. His wife detected his "abnormal" passion. Either me or your heels! And now this poor guy is selling them again. Again a chance for me as big sizes vulture :w00t2: I'm not afraid anymore to visit the ladies department of a shoe store. Quite opposite: for me it's always a fun to try on stylish shoes. But usually it's simply disappointing. Nothing available in my size. Nevertheless I'm a stubborn rejector of the male department, for good reasons :santa_hat:

  5. For the past couple of weeks, I have been weeding down my collection of heels. Usually, I just donate them to a thrift store when I "clean house," but this time I decided to see if they would sell on E-bay. Well, I posted 45 pair and sold 44 of them. I plan on selling another 20 or so after the holiday.

Here is my observation...of the 44 pair I sold, 20 were bought by men. Of the 18 total customers, 7 were men. I thought this was an interesting observation, though it is far from scientific.

Last week I was offline. 44 pairs on Ebay and me absent - a nightmare! I hope they weren't altogether size EU 44 or 45 ...

  6. In the parking lot some other folks (father daughter) had bought a mattress and frame and were trying to load it into a pick up truck. I asked if they needed any help and they said they said they did. I’m sure they noticed my boots but I was willing to help. We loaded the truck and bid each other a good evening. Doing an unexpected kindness is part of the fun.

    Another fun outing.

    Hi Thighbootguy,

its always a good choice to show that we are not aliens but quite normal social minded guys. The people will remember: a guy wearing high heeled overknees - naturally completely gaga - but this guy was very nice and helpful! Even not gaga?!? :santa_hat:

I have the impression that the other people are still irritated because of my strange outfit and my two meters height. Some weeks ago an elder lady in my supermarket asked me to reach her down a glass with vegetables from the upper shelf. I'm not sure if she has seen my high heels but she has seen that I'm tall. Afterwards she begged me to screw up the glass a little bit because she hasn't anymore the power in her fingers. No problem for me. She was very greatful. May be another elder lady who is tolerating men on high heels ...

  7. Hi,

I had the same feeling as you but I learned from some threads in this forum that the best thing to do is to look at yourself fully dressed, with the shoes on, in a mirror where you can see yourself from head to feet. If you like what you are seeing, just open the door and go out wherever you want. If you feel that there's something wrong, you're probably right - stay home.

    Good luck,

    Celso.

Hi Celso, I like your answer. I had never any problem with going outdoors on high heels, I'm doing it simply!

  8. Hi all,

Thank you very much for the positive response regarding the subject of my thesis.

I have put together some questions that I hope the men on this board can answer for me, sorry no ladies at the moment. I am aware that this site is very pro men in heels so have tried to generate some questions that will hopefully not lead to biased viewpoint. As I have previously mentioned I am looking for the social experiences of heel wearing in relation to mainstream fashion.

Please can you message me the responses so that I can coallate the data, I will if permitted by the administrator post my thesis on this site after it has been written.

Please note I will refer in my questions to an elevated heel, I am specifying this as any heel on a shoe above 1.5 inch in height be it stiletto, cuban, block etc.

    So here goes:

1.) Men, have you ever worn footwear with an elevated heel? a) Yes. :silly: No

2.) Men, have you ever worn footwear with an elevated heel in public? a) Yes. :o No

3.) Men, how often do you wear elevated heeled shoes in public? Please specify X number of times per week, month or year or never.

4.) Men, if you wear elevated heeled shoes in public do you also wear other items of clothing that is 'socially determined to be ladies wear'? a) Yes always. :) Yes sometimes. c) Never only shoes. d) Not applicable.

5.) Men, do your friends, family, work colleagues know of your wearing of elevated heeled footwear? a) Yes, I make no hiding of it. :) Some yes, but I'm careful who I share it with. c) No, this is not something I share with people outside such similar forums as HHPlace. d) Not applicable

6.) Men, if you do not share the knowledge that you wear elevated heeled footwear with friends, family, work colleagues, please can you provide the main reason why?

7.) Men, have you ever been to a 'Heelmeet' or similar arranged meeting? a) Yes. :) No. c) I would do if I could travel to such an event.

8.) Men, if you have attended a 'Heelmeet' how many other men were present also wearing elevated heeled footwear? (please refer to the last Heelmeet you were present at).

9.) Men, if you have attended a 'Heelmeet' in elevated heeled footwear what has been the general public response to your attire with respect to your footwear? a) Mainly positive. ;) Mainly Negative. c) Indifferent/no reaction.

10.) Men, if you have attended a 'Heelmeet' how has the number of men attending wearing elevated heeled footwear changed? a) Generally increased. B) Generally decreased. c) Increased more recently over the last 2 years. d) other, please specify.

11.) Men, do you feel vunerable in your public surroundings wearing footwear with elevated heels? a) Yes. B) No. c) Not applicable.

12.) Men, have you ever received any public negativity when or for wearing footwear with elevated heels? a) Yes. B) No

13.) Men, do you feel that an elevated heeled shoe could ever achieve unisex status as a mainstream fashion item? a) Yes. B) No.

14.) Men, if the elevated heeled shoe ever became a unisex fashion item would it still hold the same appeal to you as the wearer? a) Yes. B) No. c) The same.

15.) Sorry forgot, please could I you to specify your age and country of residence?

Reading my question back to myself they do appear to be a bit dry, my apologies to you all for this (this is my first time).

I would really appreciate your true/honest responses, please feel free to also provide real life experiences when answering the questionaire

Many thanks, and I apologise for any grammer/spelling mistakes.

    Kind regards, b.

    14) yes

    15) 55/D (i started my open heels wearing at an age of fourty nine)

I'm missing questions about the WHY, the most interesting and the most difficult question! For a serious sociologist survey its in my opinion absolutely necessary to ask not only us small amok running minority but also the big majority. Their reactions on us are determining our behaviour rsp. our courage. For example: Isn't the question how did your girlfriend, your wife or your family react on you when you dared your first outing on high heels much more interesting than questions about male high heels meetings? These meetings are helpful and encourageing for our community and for guys who dared up to now only a short walk on a parking site of an autobahn/motorway after midnight. But thats not real life.

    nice greetings, micha

  9. The Pleaser Flair 2010 boots are somewhat similar to the Buffalo boots you showed, and they come up to size US Women's 16. They have a 1/2 inch platform and 5 inch heel in the larger sizes, at least, and are quite comfortable, though the 1/2 length zipper is a pain, in my opinion.

Thanks Bob, not a bad proposal!

I like the idea of converting fetish boots into actual fashion. With turned inside shafts my overknees are even looking better over drain pipe jeans than the actual girly fashion with shy kitten heels. I hope that the teen girls will be jealous on me

  10. Micha,

I have those exact boots (in US 11) I got at Aldo. I don't know if they go larger or if you get Aldo in Germany.

Thanks Cassie for your prompt answer!

No, Aldo isn't known in Germany. Do you have a link on the shop page?

But in my experience US 11 equals EU 42. Steve Madden - the american counterpart of Buffalo - is stopping also at US 11.

I have a nice pair of white 4'' pull on overknees in US 13 - the classical 8868 style - they are nearly matching my foot size. I had better ordered them in US 14. I think that the sizes are simply wrong because of their chinese origin. Recently I have worn them again on the street. I have turned the upper shafts inside and have worn them as kneehigh slouch boots over dark grey skinny jeans. In my opinion an excellent idea - they looked like the actual girls fashion. Only with slightly higher heels

Nevertheless the actual boots fashion in my size: nothing, nichts, nada, rien, nitshto, niente ...

  11. Will it be when Payless starts mass marketing 4" Rick Owen's look alikes? Will it be when female shoe manufacturers start offering size 14 shoes? (already here)

Already here? I don't believe so.

Already here are fetish styles like patent crotch high 5'' stiletto boots in big male sizes or six inch platform sandalettes or 5'' court shoes from manmade materials. I had already lost my mind if I hadn't found some small companies who are offering fashionable high styles in my size. Like Italianheels, Jean-Gaborit, Shoes-USA or Fuss.

But if I'm visiting a shoe shop in the city emptiness is ruling in the womens department. Not that the shop is empty but the EU 44 shoe shelf for my size is empty or equipped with an incarnation of ugliness - only grandmother shoes. The oversize shops in the internet are offering the same desaster. I'm regretting the poor girls who have the same foot size as me ...

I have just found a pair of boots which I like very much. In my opinion they have the optimal design for an actual male high heel style fashion. A rounded toe box, a thin platform sole and slightly broader heels

    http://www.buffalo-shop.de/res/side200/resource_47527.jpg

But they are offered only up to EU 42 and thats simply too narrow for me. They are only good for short outdoor excursions:mecry:

Naturally I have sent them already years ago a complaint mail - no reaction.

    nice greetings, micha

  12. I just ordered these boots from Nine West.

They are having a sale on their Web Site, with many styles up to size 12.

    http://www.ninewest.com/n/browse/category.s?categoryId=5

Seems that you and me have the same taste. I would buy the black cowgirl boots from your avatar at once if they were offered in my size!

I have found a similar pair from Evans/Essence but they are not made from true leather and too wide at my calves. Sorry, I'm no soccer player (*lol*)

  13. Hello Micha,

nice boots indeed. I got mine in black a couple of weeks ago. Actually it was one of your posts that made me aware of these.

I find the fit a little tight on the instep but generous on the toes (my size is EU44, too). After breaking them in for a while they are very comfy.

Exactly - the instep is the problem for me too! The seam at the frontside is very narrow. Especially at my right foot. I don't know why, but I'm built simply a little bit asymmetrically. I could never wear the middle finger ring of my left hand on my right middle finger.

Some years ago I have sent a plaint mail to Buffalo. Their headquarter is residing directly in my neighbourhood (Hofheim/Taunus). I asked them to offer at least their most popular styles in a size 43. No reaction ... I wouldn't care anymore for this stubborn company if they hadn't such nice boots and if the very comfortable Evans/Essence styles were not so ridiculous wide at the calves:mecry:

    PS

if I had found these boots in EU 42 I had bought them at once. It's the same style but the boots are kneehigh and prettier to wear over skinny jeans

    http://www.buffalo-shop.de/res/product200/resource_32539.jpg

  14. Hi folks,

here my newest capture, pull on slouch boots with 4'' heels from Buffalo:

    http://www.buffalo-shop.de/res/product200/resource_38894.jpg

I like the actual fashion with a thin platform sole (very comfortable to wear on pavement) and a rounded toe box. As additional benefit a more reserved (male!?) style for streetwearing

But no gain without pain. I found them only in EU 42 size. They may be a true EU 43 but my feet are at least EU 44. After widening my new booots up at home I dared this afternoon a first outdoor walk, barefoot under long jeans. For doing my daily purchases. As expected I never earned any stupid comment. But the most important: my feet didn't hurt afterwards! Seems that these boots will become my favourite shoes for the winter season. Especially worn over my skinny drainpipe jeans

    ps

still a picture of my seller tasha with a slightly better resolution

    http://www.blazing.de/buffalo/ebay/89709-42_pic1.jpg

  15. Congratulotions, looks very good!

I ordered the attached boots yesterday, designed by Jette Joop, my first designerboots. They are for everyday use, so no heel on those...

I hope that you have planned to wear them over narrow drain pipe jeans. The only excuse for the missing heels (*g*)

    @Mr.X

I'm a proud owner of the same style of ankle boots. They are from Leatherworks in my true size EU 44/45 and very comfortable to wear. Unluckily the 4.5'' heels are a little bit too high for an alldays wearing on the street. The 6'' patent leather ankle boots of my avatar are forbidden in public, only allowed for halloween or on a CSD parade ...

  16. A couple of weeks ago I was on my way home when I decided to stop and have a totter around in a pair of 4" suede court shoes. It was late at night and of course dark but I was in a well light area and was seen by quite a few people. A few had a bit of a double take but I didn't get any abuse. This has given me more confidence to move on a bit further. I've a few days leave due me from work and I'm so tempted to use it to go Christmas shopping in and around London wearing high heel shoes and/or boots. It's most likely I'll wear skinny jeans which suit my shape best and are very tight. It's a slutty look I know but I like it. I was thinking maybe Camden Market as that seems a laid-back, anything goes type of place. Can anyone suggest anywhere else where I can totter around without feeling too exposed?

Thanks for your suggestions, support and help

Sorry, as a guy from Germany I cannot give recommendations for London. Like you I love wearing skinny jeans and knee high boots over the jeans. In my opinion this nice fashion isn't only a privilege of the girls. I'm wearing this outfit regularly on the streets of my quarter and I have got rarely bad comments. Sometimes young immigrants have a problem with my outfit.

The dogs are yapping and the caravan is pursuing its way.

  17. Micha

I give you a B+ for you english... and an A++ for your humor.

    I agree with you 100%.

But remember, most New Yorkers Are a Bit Wacked ! !

    Hi Gary,

it's not the stupidity of the New Yorkers. I'm sure that a lot of rich people from New Jersey are buying their expensive fashion in the boutiques of NYC. In my hometown Frankfurt - a small "village" in the deepest province of Germany  - you can find in the Goethe street a lot of noble boutiques. Clothes or shoes below 300 € are an affront to their customers. 300 meters away homeless persons are begging for 10 cents. There must be something wrong with our wonderful new globalized world ...

  18. Hi all

Just got my first pair of heels, 6 inch stilettos, so in at the deep end, they look and feel great. But I'm still unsure about sizing.

I've got a wider than normal foot, which I allowed for when I ordered them, and they feel like a comfortable fit, they're just right across the front of the foot (no wiggle room either side of the foot), and when I'm sitting my heel is snug in the back.

But when I stand up my foot slides forward a little, leaving a small gap at the back, maybe half a centimeter, and so I lose that snug feeling at the back of the foot.

So have I got the right size? Should they feel too tight when new across the front? I am being careful not to get a size too small because being tight across the front of the foot can be quite uncomfortable and I intend to wear heels a lot.

Should I get my next pair a size smaller and then compare?

It's all subjective, but I'd appreciate some advice from some experienced guys, thanks.

(When I chose my username for these forums, I was concerned about avoiding a size that was too tight, and was looking for information)

What have you expected on such extreme high heels? That's simply a phenomenon of gravity. On a skew plane you are sliding downwards if gravity is stronger than the adhesive friction. You are reaching a stable situation if the counterforce of the shoe box on your toes compensates your downwards pushing weight m*g*sin(alpha) where alpha is the elevation angle. On flat shoes alpha is zero and there is no force. On ballet shoes alpha is typically 60 or 70 degrees and sin(alpha) ~ 0.8. You have to compensate almost your whole weight by the lateral forces of the narrowing toe box and the power of your toes. Typically 20 to 30 kp for each foot or 2 or 3 completely filled buckets of water

From a physical standpoint there are only few ways to mitigate the situation:

    1. Wearing lower heels - the most effective!

    2. Wearing boots - a lot of your weight is kept back by a tight instep.

    3. Wearing your shoes barefoot. The moisture of your foot soles is increasing the friction coefficient.

    4. Wearing rubber inlay soles - for the same reason.

You can buy your shoes without any problems one size smaller. The half cm freedom at the rear side is useless and unaesthetical. It doesn't change anything at the front side!

nice greetings from micha (*a theoretical physicist but not a warning podiatrist*)

  19. I didn't know what other thread to put this picture in, so I defaulted to this thread. Here is a window display of Jennyb Shoes on Spring Street in Soho. You can see that they are selling knee high boots for men--they retail for $795. I think I'll stick to the women's version. A shop up the road on the corner of Prince and Houston also sells knee high boots for men.

Why should I buy my heels from such greedy money addicteds?

I'm convinced that Jennyb has a defect in her brain. At least she has deserved the first shot to the mars. Even Jean Gaborit and Italian Heels are selling their expensive styles much more priceworthy than this stupid cow or her people kidding managers. My favourite passion is to sink down all this ridiculous Louis Vuitton fans into the deepest grounds of the sea.

    micha (*vicious*)

    Am I confused

  20. Thanks for your reply. It seemed like a fun idea, but I think I'll take your recommendation and go with the boring shoes.

Hmmh, why not heels? Two years ago I visitited together with a friend the Rhine falls near by Schaffhausen. It's one of the most famous places for tourists at the frontier between Germany and Switzerland. Our middle european Niagara falls

It was a bright july day with hot wheather and a wonderful blue sky. I was wearing the whole afternoon 4'' clogs. No wheather for my boots passion. I met at this day thousands of people from the whole world (Switzerland, USA, Germany, Japan and ...). No single bad comment and definetely no need for boring shoes!

The whole day appeared to me as if I were wearing the normalest shoes of the world ...

    ps

I hadn't been irritated if some japanese tourists had begged me for a photo shooting: at the CSD in my hometown two ladies from Russia asked me for a posing on my 6'' platform sandalettes - I hope that they have got a funny vacation picture from this crazy german guy!

  21. Hi folks, sorry, I have no experience with New Look. But I'm a proud owner of two pairs of boots from UK. A pair of dark grey 3'' wedge boots from Next. They are made from true leather and true in size 9. A little bit too small for my EU 44/45 feet but still comfortable to wear. My black 4'' inch boots from Essence (a cowgirl style from manmade material) in size 9 are exactly my size. At least an UK 10 but unfortunately much too far legs for my calves. I'm preferring the Next styles - they appear to me more elegant
