  1. Well I gotta say that your skirt wearing trips are just about as clandestine and perhaps even more organised then some OP's I've been on! Hey Jeff... Just to be doubly sure no one sees you in a skirt, you could always HALO into your preferred AO at O-Dark-Thirty and then a 3 man extraction team could pick you up by Zodiac at some prearanged coastal RV point when you're done. PS....dont forget to remove all the tags from your clothing and if captured, we here on the board will disavow all knowledge of your mission. jim

  2. Hi Dawn.. Altho working most of the time, I had a real ball while I was away and that little encounter just made it all the better.:lol: As far as shopping in that store is concerned...well lets just say I have moved it to the very top of my "favorite places to shop" list. With spring just around the corner, most every store is in sale mode but I was lucky to get these classic boots for the price I did, especially as they were the very last pair in my size. Usually I take a US9.5-10 but needed one size up because of the point. I have to add that these are THE most comfortable high heeled boots I have ever owned..bar none. I will definitely give the gal concerned a call and see if a Turkish coffee & a little shoe talk is on the cards for my next trip. I will get the camera out when I have a spare moment and take a pic or two for you Dawn. If I am wearing them and Carrie (my shutter-bug friend) is with me, there will undoubtedly be a few good ones for you to see. jim

  3. Firstly dr1819,I must make a comment on your avatar…..I love it ! The cut and drape of the models denim skirt is wonderful and feel her boots work the look to perfection.

Thanks for posting your account with these women, I found the interaction you had with them a pleasure to read. I firmly believe that if we dress well, even if our style is somewhat different to the norm, but we're confident with- in our selves, interesting people and pleasant encounters often follow.

As you have shown, to be successful when dressing differently we must be comfortable with what we are wearing and with the person that we are, because if we are not, how on earth can we expect others to be.

Anyway...I have just spent the last 2 weeks or so in Auckland on business and wore my Sachi 4” boots a lot of the time and received only one comment on them. As I walked across a paved area to the Atrium on Elliot I couldn’t help but hear a woman say…

    “ GAWD ! LOOK AT HIMMM..!” :D

LOL…The remark pricked a bit, but I really hope seeing me in heels helped make her day.

While in the city, I shopped for shoes and things and wandered into a store I had not been to before. I soon found a pair of Via Spiga’s with a four inch heel and a pointed toe that just demanded my immediate and undivided attention.

What I found kinda neat was as the sales girl was helping me on with them, the manageress came out, watched a while and then became involved also. She was a rather striking well dressed woman wearing spindly stilettos and was aged in her early to mid 40’s. She suggested a number of other boots I might like and helped me try them on, all the while passing comments and making suggestions as to what she thought would go with them. There was also abit of gentle flirting thrown into the mix for good measure. (which pleased me no end)

The other girl had moved off to help another customer by this time and I was left in the rather capable hands of the manageress .After trying on a good number of shoes, including a very graceful pair of caged, brown suede wedges, I decided to take the VS knee boots that had originaly caught my eye.

I was feeling very pleased with my choice as I handed over the cash to her. These delightful calf skin boots had been marked down from $599.00 to $199.00 which helped make this whole shopping experience even more rewarding.

Just as I was about to leave, the manageress told me her name, wrote it on the inside of the stores business card and gave it to me. It was one of those trendy little deals that fold in the middle and although I didn’t open it, I did take note of the stores name, MIA PIACI printed on the front and slid it into my wallet.

Later that afternoon I stopped off to buy a bottle or two of wine and while paying the guy for the Merlot, the card I had been given earlier dropped out of my pocket book and onto the counter. While returning it I couldn't help but smile, especially after seeing a cell number and 2 other words written above her name..

    “ call me !”

  4. Thanks for the positive feed back guys !! It's always nice to receive genuine compliments and any constructive critisim is always helpful when refining ones personal style.

Well Jeff, the stiletto boots I'm wearing are a sleek little number and as you can see, made of a chocolate brown suede that matched my jacket perfectly. They have a tall shaft and a 4" bronzed heel with a 3mm plastic tip that is wearing down fast. Thankfully I have a set of metal replacements that will be going on asap.

These boots have a severe point and I had to buy them in a US 11 to assure a good fit, as a consequence my new heels are amazingly comfortable to wear and walk easily.

They were made in Spain for Steve Madden and the good quality the Spaniards are renown for is very evident in the leather and over-all construction of this rather sexy little boot. As an extra item of interest, they have a rear zipper which is a first for me and are lined in a super soft light brown leather.

Here’s another view of my ensemble and a painting that prompted a good deal of thought and speculation from each of us..

  5. Hi Y'all

I was in town with friends yesterday where we took in an exhibition at a local gallery, afterwards there was shopping and a meal at a waterfront restaurant.

Here's a pic one of the girls took while we were out and about...

I'm wearing a soft uncut cord jacket, boot cut jeans and a pair of chocolate suede pointy boots sporting 4" stiletto heels...

Others may see it differently, but I thought the outfit pulled together and worked rather well.

  6. Very nice boots Shafted,I like both pairs alot. They are simple and with out fuss and are spot on as street wear. :P BTW...what did you wear with your still's when you went to the hair salon.? jim edited to add: Thanks for showing us a full lenght photo Shafted, its great to be able to put a face to a name......so... "G'Day Mate".... it's good to meet you at last. :P

  7. Very nice pics of your red pumps Painter... *whew* (try saying that fast ) they are nicely composed. Do you use 35mm film for your pics......they say it's a requirement for the very best in quality, but wouldn't digital be cheaper and less hassle in the long run..? Still, I'm not the best a taking photo's and if it were not for digital I'd go broke paying film and developing fees before I had even had one pic that was half-way decent. btw, those are neat wedges, they look comfy. jim

  8. It may not happen often, but it's great when a particular style comes along that's "just right" in every sense of the word. I know it's an individual thing, but I think you may have hit the jack pot with your Pleaser's Jeff and am glad you've found a shoe that works so well for you. jim :P
