So get them from Onlymaker. At least then you know they will be good and at a good price. Ordering something like that from Ali or Ebay will be crapshoot. It might not look like on the pictures and God help you with the sizings.

Were heels actually being worn by men in general before the French Revolution or just the nobility? Which seems to be far more likely as there were rules in class society as to what you were allowed to wear. Also I don't think men have a natural taste or desire to wear heels. It started out as cavalry wear, and we don't have much cavalry left in the world, then as a way for noble toffs to set themselves apart from the common folk. Today, for most men wearing heels is a sexual fetish and sexual fetishization involving objects of the opposite sex depends on what objects the opposite sex actually wears. I'm sure that in the 17th and 18th century there was probably a sexual fetish of men regarding female wigs or those giant hooped skirts. Try still finding those. Similarly, if the trends regarding high heel wearing by women continue in a few decades they will be gone completely, and so will men's sexual fetishes regarding them. Of course, maybe the high heel as a fetish item might soldier on, just like the corset did.
Also, fun fact: By law women in Iran are forced to wear pants and trousers. You gotta wear trousers with a coat and a scarf covering their hair. No skirts allowed.

They arrived, I posted pics here:
I think I now understand what went wrong with the Penelope's. I thought they were sized UK9/EU43, turns out they were UK9/EU42. Really, is it too hard to ask for consistent sizing, shoe industry? Anyway, so now I got a pair of size UK11/EU44. Overshot my mark with one size as it were. Not going to send them back though. They look good, even though there is a slight gap in the back when wearing, but overall they're a snug fit, so I'm not going to risk it.

I bought a pair of Passion pumps from Asos, which like the Penelope has a 5" heel, but which unlike the Penelope was available up to size EU44. I had previously ordered a pair of Penelope's sized UK9 and they didn't fit so I had to return them. Seeing that these were on offer in a size larger made me order them. Plus they basically look like the Penelope just with a slightly longer point.
Unlike the Penelope these fit, be it with a slight gap at the back. Which upon further examination became clear:
They're size UK11, not the UK10 that I thought. Not that it matters much. The shoe fits quite snugly and I'm happy with it. And I dig the chocolate color.

And that is why you would fail such tests. That voice inside your head telling you to imagine what would happen if ..... It's a healthy instinct that served us well to survive dangerous risks. Although I agree that in this case the benefits do not outweigh the risks, as there is nothing to be gained by risking your life to do a crate challenge. Other then getting some likes on the internet from complete strangers. Which I reckon is like winning a billion dollars or euros to some people.

Usually UK9 is listed as EU43. The Penelope's were listed as such. So we shall see.

Here its far more mixed. 65/35 in favor of sneakers, but so so SO many of the young students I see wear those accursed black boots. Even with short skirts and tights. Most people don't want to be express individuality. They want to applauded by the group. Which in their mind usually means conformity. Which means white sneakers, or those accursed black combat boots, are now considered group approved expressions of 'individuality', while heels are either for slutting it up at the club or for when you really need to look at your best. And for that white sneakers and those black combat boots are now also approved footwear.
As for our gay brethren, it's no secret that I think that it only takes one clearly gay dude in heels to firmly entrench the stereotype in other people's minds that wearing heels is gay. And the more flaming gay, the worse the damage will be.

I just saw that Asos has a similar model called Passion, 5" heel and best of all, goes up to size UK10. Or EU44. I'll give those a try.

I ordered those in size EU43. Sadly I had to return them because they didn't fit. They felt more like EU42.

I think that would apply to a lot of men who wear heels. They do it because its a fetish to them, and if the woman won't do it, or they don't have one, they'll start doing it themselves. And you seem to be exceptionally well served in that department by your wife. So why bother?
