  1. Reading as of today Payless shoes may be filing for bankruptcy. The story claimed they may be closing up to 400 stores in the US alone. There might be some good sales but at the cost of jobs lost and local economies being effected. Online shopping is causing a decline in retail businesses making a go of it and eventually will hurt the small private retailler too. Its either catch up with the latest in technology or be left behind. Places like Amazon are the big winners.

What a great website - and the prices too! Thanks for the referral! Looks like they do intl shipping too

Yes, I live in Canada and shipping has been from approx. 10 dollars to 25 depending on the size of the shipment. Shipping time has been an average around 3 weeks. Overall service has been pretty good.

  4. I always liked to look at high heels even as a kid. I can remember looking at the Sears catalogues and admiring the high heels. I never actually owned my first pair of heels until after my divorce from my first wife who never knew about my admiration for heels. Being by myself I decided to buy my first pair and see what it finally felt like to wear a pair of heels. They were a closed toe sandle, black with a heel cup and ankle strap. They were about 4.5" with a 1/2" platform. They felt fabulous and definitely thrilled me. My collection grew until I felt awkward and shameful, thus the collection was purged. I am very glad that I was honest and upfront with my present wife. Now we both have marvelous heel collections and we enjoy shoe shopping.

  5. I will be turning 51 soon and already know what you are talking about. Ever noticed that you can not bend over and put your heels on without making a sound like a sigh, a grunt, or an ah. Lol. I still love my heels and will put up with the discomfort sometimes whether its my aging body, pointed toes or round toes. Sometimes thats the price for looking good and feeling good about oneself.

  6. I agree Peter1. I too only wear my heels inside or on the occassional road trip. But my heel collection has gone by 100 pairs. My mens collection may consist of 6 pairs including seasonal footwear. I would rather have my heel collection and could not think of parting with any of them. Enjoy your heels! By the way...great booties.

  7. For shoe shots I use my phone and usually hold my arms out while semi bent over stategically trying to frame my picture. Usually takes multiple tries to get a good photo. And proper lighting and background is another thing to consider. You want to make those heels "pop". Lol. Trying to see black heels against a dark background isn't very flattering. My phone has a voice recognition or hand gesture which allows to take photos without a timer. This way you can be sure you are positioned right with the proper lighting. Hope this helps. Looking forward to seeing how you make out with your photography.

  8. My wife wanted a bathing suit that she picked out on a website that we get our shoes from. Bathing suit was out of stock but I was convinced to get her another pair of shoes for our vacation trip. Hers are the blue mary-janes. So I could not pass up a chance to save on the shipping. Lol. So I found another exotic pair of pumps too. Needless to say I won't be wearing mine on vacation.

  9. No jungles around here...just mountains of snow at this time. The only place these will be worn is around the house for a few months. But I might unleash these bad boys then. And pair them with my dark skinny jeans. Keep it simple and let the shoes make the statement.

  10. The other day my wife was checking out one of the sites that I order some of my shoes from. She then asks how come I did not order any for her. So I said to her that I was not sure what she would like but if she wanted to save some on my wishlist to go ahead. Yesterday she asks me if I ordered any of her shoes. When I checked out her list it contained well over 15 pairs! After some time she narrowed it down to one pair for now and a summer dress that she can wear on vacation. With this I saw the "green light" to order myself another pair. Hers are the teal colored ones and mine are the mary janes. Its great fun shoe shopping with my wife and a little extra cost is well worth it!

  11. Know how you feel. I was lucky enough to find that woman. I love to shop for heels with my wife. She usually ends up with a new pair at my expense but definitely worth it when I too can get a new pair. She also loves high platform stilettos and wears them all the time. Keep looking you will find that gem of a lady. I like your angle...sooner or later you might just get the reaction you are looking for.

  12. These heels are my Avatar also. They are not my "go to heels" for everyday because of the color and style. A little tricky to wear for long periods of time. But because they are an ankle strap with closed toe and the vibrant fushia color makes them my favorite pair.

  13. Its a shame that so many innocent lives had to be lost from these attacks. The wave of fear that they cause is is the purpose of these terrorist attacks. The lasting effect that resonates through the communities is a shame but the true humanity of the majority helps people rise to the ocassion. Ie: The Boston Marathon bombings. People stood together and overcame. So my thoughts are to not let fear or anxiety rule your decisions on footwear. Life is too short...Wear the Heels...that make you feel good. You will overcome your apprehension. Regardless what you wear I am sure you will look fabulous!

  14. Welcome to hhplace. I too went through the "change" as I best can describe it. I am 50 now and I believe it is a state of mind that life is too short and it is better to be true to yourself and others opinions are not as important as your true happiness. I have always loved heels but finally opened up to my wife 3 years ago. I was lucky she was accepting. I explained that I like how they look and how they make me feel. I am still the same guy. And for me I keep my heel collection private except around her. You have to decide how open you want to be with your heeling. Proceed cautiously and feel the waters. Believe me an accepting wife who will shop for heels with you and keeping them at home is better than no heels at all and a disruptive marriage. The people here are fantastic and very supportive in any of your heeling choices.
