  1. Why silly? Just because it is different? Because it is not the norm? Because no one does it? There are plenty of pictures around of guys in heels in suits or jeans that look quite nice, not silly at all. It all depends in your point of view. Most of us are not interested in looking "silly", but we are either interested in still looking nice or don't particularly care.

  2. "Stripper" shoes have come in for plenty of criticism over the years on HH Place, though not as much recently. They seem to sell well, though, and I'm sure plenty of members have them. It seems to me that some or many of the current high heeled stiletto fashion shoes are similar to what were called stripper shoes. I noticed particularly an email ad from YSL today for YSL Bow Sandals, for $895. Here they are compared to Pleaser Kiss 221 sandals (less than 1/10th the price)

  3. To jazzymj: Karo makes wedges of 5 inches and up, with platforms from 1 inch to a couple of inches, up to size 14. You can find them on the Internet at BeverlyHeels, models 0948, 3221, 3222, 924, 925. The 925s are advertised as 4.5", but mine in size 13 are 5.5" at the back. They are not cheap, though.

  4. Anyone who would spend an hour up there for any reason might be considered a weirdo by some people. I agree with Kneehighs - fetish scene or something. It would be nice to have someone up there in heels in any outfit as long as the outfit or behavior is not depraved. The catsuit and red heels would be disregarded by most people as an oddity rather more than a business suit and heels, I think. Tech: Your opinions are not just personal opinions when you use your title of authority of one who has the power to ban members, etc. They become more official positions than just personal and carry the implied threat of banishment/condemnation just because of that power. Look at the uproar Obama created with his initial remarks on the policeman's conduct with the black homeowner.

  5. I have lots of stiletto mules/slides and like them better than anything else. They need to be a little tight so they don't come off. I have also found some brands fit so that my heels go off the inside of the shoe, especially my right foot, for some reason. Ellies are about the only ones that don't do that, and maybe Karos. I have had to put some foam padding inside the right shoe to keep them straight on Pleasers, and even on Shoes USA. It has to do with how they shape the strap across the foot. And Jante I can't wear at all. I also like wedges, Lucious (Pleaser) and Karo, and also Gabriella Rocha. I wear a 12 or 13 in women's sizes, preferably the latter, and wear mini platforms with a 5 or 5 1/2 inch heel. They are much more comfortable than closed shoes for me.

  6. The most beautiful girl I know also has peach fuzz on her arms and face, but it's really more than peach fuzz - it's long but almost invisible unless in silhouette. I tend to ignore it as she is so gorgeous otherwise, not that it does me any good. It's a professional relationship, though we are friends to a greater rather than lesser extent. She also likes shoes and heels, though I almost never see her in heels except for dance shoes (dance partner).

  7. Question: Did you wear the heels getting onto the rocks or put them on after getting there? I remember a video on one of Natalie Gulbis's programs on shooting her calendar one year where she was wearing heels and going down a rough slope at the beach. She refused offers of help and made it herself.

  8. I recently bought a pair of Gabriella Rocha Omar wedge sandals. Found a size 13 at Overstock.com, but I no longer see that size anywhere. They are just a little tight, but comfortable and silent due to the rubber sole. The listing says a 3 inch heel in size 7.5, but mine are 5 1/4 inches at the back with about a 1 3/8 inch platform. I wore them to the salon yesterday with long jeans and with bright metallic red polish to get my pedicure. My salon girl (who is a very tall blond and a friend, now married, but who does not wear heels at all) spotted them and said "Give me those!" She put on one and said "Give me the other one!", though they were quite a bit too big for her. She grabbed one of the other girls for support and walked up and down in the salon wearing them. She told the girls they were mine, then the girls came over and showed me their heels. One was wearing high wedges somewhat similar and the other had high wooden heels. They seemed enthusiastic about showing off their shoes to me. (Now have a dark red polish that my friend selected from what I took in.) I guess I can keep doing that. I'm not very confident about trying to wear noisy stilletos, though.

  9. You lot in Europe probably didn't see the Indianapolis 500 race telecast. Danica Patrick's commercials are sort of edgy. One for Boost Mobile which has been commented on by many bloggers showed a pit stop with her pit crew wearing shorts and high heels. Media daily says it will be used in a forthcoming ad campaign.
