So, I wasn't quite sure where to post this since it's not really a new purchase, but rather than start a new boots thread, I figured here might be appropriate.

So first a quick little back story. This past weekend I had received an email about Old Navy having a $12 jeans sale on mid-rise super skinny jeans for women. Now I only wear women's pants anymore as my wife thinks they make my butt look amazing. So I mentioned to her about going and looking, to which she decided she needed a new pair and thought I may look good in skinny jeans.

Now part of me wanted a pair because I wanted to try and make a decent looking outfit using the riding boots I have. Those pictures I will post another time. Needless to say, we found a pair that was a color I liked, fit me well, and the correct length on inseam so as not to bunch up.

Today, on my drive home from work, I recalled I have some black suede-like thigh highs that an ex bought for me years ago. I had never worn them because I didn't own any skinny jeans and refused to wear them under pants because they look so good.

So I get home, put on the new jeans and the 'old' boots. Would appreciate feedback, and this would be a good contender for an outfit whenever there is a meetup in Cincinanti once it gets cold enough.

I am so in love with my new pair.....

    You want to see them?

So let´s look, what´s inside the box?

For a long time I have been looking for a perfect pair of thigh boots. And now I have them :cheeky:

These  are amazing boots. What makes me feel a little bit sad, is the fact, that these quality level is these days very hard to find. 100% ultra soft leather & leather sole. Yes there are some great brands out there - but I you don´t want to spend 1000+ USD/Euros, you have to search/hunt... This kind of quality makes the fun when wearing them. I think they will be a great conversation starter when going out :cheeky:

Geez those are awesome boots Andro, nice find!  Very lucky to find those for sure!  Good one.

You know your in the sticks when the couple in front of you have matching Camo jackets, and Under Armor is a fashion statement.

You got it right on the button, that is my circumstance too where I live as well. Well I did notice in the neighboring town that many of the local gals are fully showing off there fashions boots, "the Blundstones". I saw at least 20+ ladies from 20-45 yrs old wearing them. Anyways, the newer generations of non heel wearers, sigh...

  4. Good for you Peeptoes, the first outing that will lead you to many more!

Thanks for sharing pictures too, I have almost same color on my toes as well!

    Back again!

The summer is over and now it´s boot time again :-)

So this fall took the next step and invested some money into a great pair of boots. Very high - not the heels - and great to create some edgy styles. Here is the first one.

This is some basic stuff: blouse/shirt & jeans are from the women´s department at Uniqlo. The black long sleeve is from COS.

Great looking outfits Andro, I really like your choice of High boots too, wow! I totally agree about Rad H, he has some nice pieces as well that fit in your outfits. Thanks for the inspiration again! Who made your thigh boots if you don't me asking?

  6. Hi Rockbass, Good for you in losing all the weight, that is something to be proud of! It takes a lot of dedication and will power to pull that off! And now it is time celebration for sure! I have found a couple of places that I have shopped at for style and various style including Androgynous looks. These are certainly more desiger oriented but can give you some ideas. I find that I am shopping at Nordstroms in the ladies section for sweaters and stuff. If you look long enough and are willing to go for some styles, shopping sections in teh women's departments can produce good finds. I think defining your style first is a big help. Hope that helps!

  7. When I am going into a town or city, traveling, driving I am wearing heels all the time.  I am not wearing so much around my own town due its rural nature plus 6 months of winter. I do wear winter knee boots.

  8. Here is one Fashion Ladies website link that talks about wearing age appropriate shorts and skirts. She in her 60's talks about her opinion of what is and what is not appropriate with hints of do what you want. She also has other articles in which she talks about boots and shoes what to wear with comments which I find interesting / helpful. While it is good reading I still believe in wearing what you want because you can.

Whilst i agree that we should dress appropriately for our surroundings and climate, we are then further hemmed in by work and social 'norms'.

Wearing a short skirt as you get older is not in any way different from us blokes wearing heels.

We who dont want to be judged and fit in to society's stereotypes should not judge others for their expression

    my 2 cents

I am a big fan of this statement thanks for posting it again Sydheels. I think that if you take care of yourself and do care how you look you can wear anything you want at any age. As it has been said many times that if it makes you feel really good wear whatever you want, life is too short to worry what others think. If you wake tomorrow, and you were diagnosed with a terminal illness, would you actually care what people think? Would you want to wear a skirt or short shorts with boots or heels as much as you can in your last days go on this planet ? I certainly would. We should not have to wait until those kind circumstances occur to wear what you want. I really think that nowadays with our current trends and our increasing acceptance we're able to live life to the fullest. We have many more things to worry about than what we wear. My 6 sense worth!

I finally got a picture taken of the outfit that prompted this thread. Certainly a much more casual and less flashy outfit than CAT's.

Cool Miroseplant, you do look great by the way, comfy and casual. You could also wear skirt with no problems too! The image you portray fits your desires that you wish show. It works just fine.

  11. Hey KneeBooted, Interesting, were you coming from NY or on the East Coast? Looks like an increased security precaution after last weekends events, similar to the days following the underwear bomber event. I noticed back then I was wearing wedge boots and had to take them off because of the heel thickness. I think anytime junk goes down we see experiences like yours to beef up the security which is good for our safety.

  12. Good for you Bigfoot15, sounds like a wonderful surprise party for you and Halloween for the event! Your wife is awesome for going ahead and planning the whole event.

Have fun and if possible it would be awesome to hear about it!

well my friend, their is more good things to come, when you wear them in public, and the next step is that, you should try heels on in a expensive shoe shop like louboutin, there are many heel wearing men hear, who have done just that,

Agreed Rick 24, yes indeed, I recently did that very thing in Calgary. I tried on a pair of size 41 Louboutin shoes in Holt Renfrew, while they were not pumps or nice stilettos because their shipments were not in for fall boots, it was a great experience. I will be going there again for sure. May even buy some.....maybe...
