  1. I got a couple, one has a kitten heel, one is about 2". I find they just "flip" more than other shoes, so your pant leg goes under a bit easier. But I don't normally wear them all day.

I have a pair of 4" toe-loop mules. (Loop over the big toe, like '60's hippie sandals) If the weather ever warms up (late May at 55 degrees fahrenheit), I'll get them out.
  2. Now please don't laugh, my stereo system consists of a OnkyoTX-SR304( AV Reciever, two Polk Audio Towers, Sony center and surround speakers and a Aiwa Subwoofer. It sounds really good. Eventually I would like to go with a Orb audio speaker system, but do not have the cash right now, they are more expensive than Bose and sound much better.

If it sounds good to you, it is good.
  3. We need to get together HappyFeat. This means that people in Belden Village have seen at least 2 men in heels. I live just south of Massillon and go to Belden just about every weekend. PM me and mabe we can get together and organize the Oct. mini meet together.

Let's keep planning on a N.E. Ohio gathering. Belden Village, Summit Mall, Great Northern Mall, all are within my range. Who knows what styles Payless, Kohls, and even Wally Walmart may bring out by that time. Even Wally Walmart had some nifty Harley-Davidson knock-offs in the ladie's department; they look like 1970's snoot-boots, but are really a medium,-heel open-back clog. I bought a pair & like 'em because they are low-key, but still make a fashion statement.
  4. Not a fan of clogs or mules

I can understand that; but a pair of platform clogs (late '70's) introduced me to the fact that there is something out there other than wing-tips and loafers,

I recently spent the day with some friends I hadn't seen in many years. My open-back Dansko's served me well.
  5. The car needed a muffler. "No problem" I thought. Thinking it would take a half hour, I went into the repair place wearing 3" heel pumps. Turns out, I needed a lot more work on the car than expected. Being forced to sit there 2.5 hours in hh, conversing with other customers, in retrospect, was:smile: a worthwhile experience. And, oh yes, the service manager remembers me!

  6. I know what you mean, you get some speakers that just are warm and enticing, it appears that the ampex ones are just like that. Some speakers make you think the singer/band are right in frot of you. Is that how they make you feel?

Exactly. These are "near-field" monitors, meant to be used up close.
  7. Yep, I love clogs and mules. Clark is my favorite brand, but I like many others as well. Any ones with a high front that look like boots and a 2-3 inch block or tapered heel look unisex and are easy to wear in public anywhere, even with shorts. I have never gotten any strange looks. I have some mules that go up to 4". They look good under long jeans or slacks and with practice I have mastered a confident, natural stride without any hint of awkwardness. There is something about backless shoes that I find very attractive (as long as they're not flat), but I also go for slingbacks, too. I have several dozen pair of clogs, mules, and slings in my closet and I love them all! They're great fun.

Ah, yes, their being backless; makes the foot feel less-restricted. I would say that at least half of my non-boot pairs are backless including a pair just acquired from Wally Walmart that otherwise looks like snoot-boots. (Women's Harley-Davidson knock-offs), and a pair of Mary Janes that are essentially backless.
  8. Last pair of white shoes that I have had, other than trainers, was a pair of soft-bottom "yacht-club white" clogs. I had them about 2 weeks before I realized that they looked best in the clothing-drive charity bin.

  9. My first pair? If we're talking "ladie's department" it would be a pair of spongy open-back slip-ons. I felt so daring when I wore them to work (lol). Their next stop will be charity. Too conservative for my present tastes.

  10. I don't have any pix, but want to put in a good word for Brian May of "Queen". A talented musician and family man, he likes clogs. If they are Bastads, they almost qualify as HH, at nearly three inch heels. Looking forward to Ohio in October, and tnx for those of you who have written to me. I haven't always been able to reply. When I'm not in my 4" Kohl's, I'm in my Bastads (except for an occasional outing in pumps.)

  11. Bootwise, I haven't been as blessed since DAS BOOT was on my Fernvision screen (television screen, a bad pun). Thank-you, Payless. 3" spikes & 4" blades. And they fit my (slightly) chubby calves. Looking forward to Ohio in October. Thanks to all of you who have written to me. You may have not gotten my reply because sending e-mail is still a bit new to me. Thanks for this site.
