Like many others here I don't work in an office environment, and though I wear heels at work as much as I can, it isn't always possible. I drive rock bands on tour all over Europe in a sleeper bus and, much as you'd think that lifestyle would lead to a fairly open minded crowd where it comes to fashion choices, that sadly isn't the case most of the time. So my high heeling at work is limited to either when I have an empty bus, in which case I'm often in a skirt and heels, or when everyone has gone to bed (we travel overnight between shows mostly), in which case I'm limited to just shoes that I can change quickly if needs be. Wish that wasn't the case, but it's a small industry, and drivers who are known to be a bit 'odd' don't tend to get much work.

Now I can and have driven my bus in some fairly extreme heels, 6" flat sole stilettos and higher with platforms, and it's perfectly safe and comfortable to do it due to the driving position on a bus, which sees you pushing down from above on the pedals, rather than down and along as you do in a car. But the discomfort comes not from the feet but from your backside, as your feet are sitting higher off the floor all of your body weight is taken by your arse, which on a long journey becomes pretty numb. So most of the time I stick to a 4" heel maximum, which makes me and my arse happy.

Heres a pic of my 'go too' heels, I find myself wearing these a lot as theyre so comfortable and practice, plus they go with jeans or a skirt. They're from Yours in the UK, think they cost about £35.00, and I highly recommend them. I took the pic on the way to Amsterdam on the train today to visit one of my favourite shoe shops (Big Shoe) which was sadly closed. So I consoled myself with a good walk around seeing the sights in the sunshine and a decent lunch instead...

  2. That’s a really tough one. I could see it going both ways tbh!   I have a feeling the girl with the hat is going to be girl b more conservative.  Girl a in the dress girl A as she looks like she’s up for anything.

If im wrong and the girl on he dress is B it’s because she has a look of I can go get any guy I want I don’t need some guy wearing heels.

Then I say Her loss.  I wear heels all the time lol!!

    again that’s a tough one

  3. I would have to say that I have had stares on my travels in the leggings and wedges. No comments but you can tell a nice approving glance to a omg are you kidding glance.  BUT I could care less.  What I will tell you is I have great comments and conversations when I’m wearing a skirt and 6inch heels.   Can’t figure that out,,,,, maybe I need to wear a skirt and heels on my next flight!!!!     I also have several (a lot)  Lulu speed tights and the logo is on the left side calf.   Again I have no problem have someone see I’m in Lulu that is marketed to women but when worn properly can look just as good on a guy.  I can’t tell you how may times I have gone into the handful of Lulu stores in my area that the staff knows me and and I have not been in leggings.    I have never had a bad experience with or without my GF

I like a bit of platform. Even a 1/4" is good. I have single sole and find I feel every little pebble to irritate the balls of my feet - Not fun in my book. I'll take a minimal platform over a single sole every time I know I'm on sidewalks.

I would agree there!!!  I feel the the pebbles  in singles soles!!!! However “it’s better to look good then to feel good dahling and you rook mavlous!!!”

    Lol

All I can say is that opinions are like elbows...everyone has one one. Whether you like platforms or not each has their own taste and reasons for choosing their own style. All I can hope for is that we are open minded enough to not denegrade someone for their choice in heels. Again heel height is a choice or preference not a competition who can wear what height whether it be with or without platforms. Another old saying...."if you can not say something nice....better to not say anything at all."

Totally agree.   Everyone has there own likes and dislikes.    I like my single sole shoes and boots.    I like my platform shoes and boots.    It all depends on the look I am happy with. The outfit I’m wearing.   The activity I am doing or attending.   If I had to pick my single most fav it would be my Steve Madden Dejavu black platform pumps.  Here they are

when the were discontinued I bought 3 more pair in black and 2 more in the nude/beige.   I think they are 6”/2”  and so comfortable.    I have others that are more conservative and others that my GF says they scream CFM!!!

I don’t own any slingbacks,  I’m looking   I don’t own any sandals or wedges just haven’t found something I like    I am looking for some peep toe pumps for this summer

We all have our own tastes and we all are able to heel in different capacities as we all have different likes, dislikes, tastes, and comfort levels

  6. I’m the same for work as it’s steel toe boots and occasional gym shoes.   I wish I could wear heels to work.  I’m in an office setting as well as in commercial renovations.   When I do wear heels I’m in 5 to 6 inch single soles with no issue.  One pair of sigle soles at 6-1/4” that are good for a couple hours. 5F8797CB-6CCD-4CDF-8895-380E75B3D819.thumb.jpeg.34ddb5783677229e25ecfd3f64a00f95.jpeg

i have a few 7 inch with 2 inch platforms and a few 6 inch with 1 up to 2 inch platforms

I love Express and have a rewards account with them. I have many tops from them that I frequently wear from Fall to Spring. Bought my first in store and since I know their sizes I have been mostly buying on-line with discounts.

Since you seem to shop Express often  @CAT , my question to you is how are Express shoes?

I haven't been in an Express store when they had a size 10 in in a style I liked and I am afraid of ordering them on-line.

    Cali,

Express only goes up to a size 10.  I am an 11 so I can’t really help on that question.  I have not even bought shoes for my GF at Express and she is a size 7.

In the pant outfit I went out to see the response.  First stop a convenience store to fill my water jug, and top of the tank.  As always , a little apprehensive on leaving my vehicle. The elana flair pants are more noticeable than the 5 inch booties they cover.  At a little before noon there were several people inside but I didn’t even notice a single judgmental glance. Across the street was a Goodwill store I hadn’t been into for a while. Not to much traffic in the strip mall. I parked far enough away from the store to need to stroll in front of several shops. As I gazed at my reflection in the shop windows, I really felt comfortable in my appearance. I looked good! With that big boost of confidence I entered Goodwill where the clerk greeted me with a pleasant “good morning”.  I replied in kind, and headed to the skirt section, where I found four just above the need black skirts to try on.  Pressed the button to get someone to open a try on booth for me, and the gentleman came with the key and did so. A nice Kaspar brand lined pencil skirt fit and looked good.  $6.75 for a $69 skirt. Not bad.  Got a “Thank you” from the same clerk and I was off to the Mall Of Georgia.

I like Dillard’s as they have a selection of “talls” in men and women’s section. I was seeking a fitted top there that might compliment the pants I was wearing, but could not find something. Unusually, a clerk did not approach to help me, though they were fairly busy.  On my way out into the mall to one of my favorite stores, Buckle, I got one or two up and down glances, probably because of my tall stature (I’m over 6’8” in these heels.) and perhaps the unusual trousers.  The trousers are very light weight so each step forward exposes the shoe and the heel if you were looking. No worries and no comments. Into Buckle I really like their service. I walk directly to the women’s side, and explain that I had purchased a nice long pair of 37” inseam Payton boot cut jeans a few months ago. And would be interested in a light wash for summer. I also mentioned I might like to try a shorter length ankle jean.   Asked for my waist size I say say I find sizes all over the place for women’s jeans. I’m 34 male,  and the Payton’s I had purchased were 31’s so she picks out a couple of jeans an takes me the closest “woman’s” side changing room.  Perfect! I tried on many (over ten) pair of jeans, no 37’s XXTl in my size. I showed here my heels, explaining, as I wear them often, the long length was to better cover the shoes. She said “ good for you, I just had to take my wedges off, they were wearing me out.”

She brought some “destroyed” crop jeans and and various “skinny” and “straight” fit types.  I decided the best was a Payton Skinny 30W, Regular 32 length in a light wash.  I tried them on with the  heals, and the look wasn’t too bad. Another female attendent agreed but perhaps some white pumps would be better. Or even, the other attendent added, “red pumps would pop on those jeans. “.

I asked what king of top?  She said with red pumps, you would like use a red or black top. A loose T for a casual look and a fitted T for dressing it up.  Great to have accommodating assistance.  Buckle is great! I’m sure I could go to Old Navy and get  similar pair of jeans for less than half the $69 these were - but the experience was well worth it.

That’s the kind of service I get at Express!!!  All the girls and some of the guys are always very helpful and kind.

    Hi all,

I just wanted to share my collection of heels with you (you click the images to enlarge them). Among them are many pairs from Pleaser, but I also own many handmade pairs that are based on an exact model of my foot. Pricey but very comfortable! I spend about 12 hours a day in heels, including in the office, where I have more pairs, and where I work behind a standing desk.

Although heels are fully comfortable to me I want to further enhance my training. A few weeks ago I ordered a pair of ballet splints, I can't wait to get them!

Love to hear your thoughts. If you want to see a close up of a certain pair let me know!

    Regards, Max

Awesome collection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Love the red!!!!    That's great you can wear them at work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
