  1. That's funny, Berg, because I am from Colombia and I am the only Minnesota girl I know that will maneuver ice in heels at all! Maybe it's because I've lived here almost all my life? I agree with Mike, sometimes, when I slip by accident, I enjoy how quickly I am able to stabilize myself and re-balance to avoid a fall. I have never been very coordinated this way until I started wearing heels, maybe it's the added awareness? Or the increased need to balance? Either way, I love the concept of handling snow, ice, water (hence the fun posting in "getting your feet wet") because if feel like a sort of an accomplishment. I hope that makes sense. Pumped, again, I'm jealous of your wife! She seems like quite the heels master, it would be fun to know someone like that in real life. Shafted and Berg, living in regions with a lot of seasonal ice, do you find that very few people share your continued enthusiasm for heels? It seems like no one around heel wears stilettos ever and few wear any type of heel in the winter!

  2. Fetish almost seems like too strong of a word, but it I think it's the right description for me. Slipping on a favorite pair, building the perfect outfit around a pair of heels, and clicking in my heels can definitely be turn-ons for me. Like Roxyinheels, I think the right heel on the right girl is also a turn on.

Now as for sex games with heels, I have never tried that. When I am feeling sexiest in my heels I wear them to bed every now and then for my partner :wavey: He enjoys the fact that I enjoy it.

  3. For me, it's all about the fastenings, ribbon ties, etc. I love to wear stockings and I think I actually enjoy the gartered part more than the actual nylon. I have toyed with the idea of an ultra-feminine look coupled with suspenders, ribbon-tied panties underneath, and either ribbon heels or heels with a functional buckle. Suspenders are hard to come by around here, much more so in something dressy enough to go with my clothes. Anyways, does anyone else like putting together lots of details and that's why you enjoy nylons?

  4. Hi Jane!! Well, I am certainly glad you are still here, I'm sure you will catch up in good time:) I like the thought that you're just outside of the conversation, glancing over a pile of work to chime in here and there. Megan and Sharon, I love your descriptions of the different ways you keep your tights. I particularly enjoyed the image of catching a pair of tights and thereby choosing the pair of the day. My own drawer starts out very neatly, but with tights, vintage stockings, fishnet hose, garters/suspenders, and a myriad of other things this quickly evolves into a jack -in-the-box set up crossed with a treasure hunt! Once again I am down to very few pairs of my beloved sheers and I again working on adding new opaques. I have three: grey, brown, and a black stocking pair that laces up the back. I feel like a nudist with all this talk of covered legs, haha! I may soon have a new job, if my interview today went as well as it seemed to, so I will likely stay with my tame colors. Pilar-box red (I had to look this one up!) sounds deliciously bold though! Should I ever happen upon a pair like this I will ignore the price tag and scoop it up!

  5. One of the guys from here sent me a PM about his wife's experiences with the high heel bias and gave me permission to post this here. Usually I like to post in the for everybody section because the guys have good points too, but not a lot of women post there! Don't be lazy girls (Megan and Amanda Snake, I know I'm preaching to the choir a little.)

Ihave been reading on the womans side about the high heel bias and had to reply! Feel free to put this reply in the thread if you wish, I know men are not allowed to post!

My wife often gets comments about what she wears, especially heels. My wife is a tiny thing, 5'2" and 100 pounds. Even better yet that she is 50 years old and can pass for 30. She would share clothing with our teen aged daughter untill she got married and moved out a couple years ago.

When some woman makes some remark it never fails that they are over weight, unkept, or no fashion sense at all. Typically it is from the baggy blue jean, sweat shirt, tennis shoe wearing crowd that makes the comment. I just tell her they are jealous that you can wear virtually anything and they can not, or won't. My wife even jokes about her "hooker" shoes or her "CFM" pumps.

Of course I am a bit biased too, or I would not be here. I love high heels and realize they can be hard to wear all the time, but I love it when my wife wears them when she can.

How very accurate his description is of these heel haters!

  6. Of course any attention you may receive while wearing heel depends very much on your overall presentation and demeanor.

Hotpants, boob tube and sky high see through platforms or conservative designer business suit with trench coat and black T bar stilettos.

You will find there is a difference in the way you are perceived.

    Hi Kathy,

I think you're right, I think men do look at you more in heels. But that doesn't mean they think better of you. I think Sangue's point was that people, other women included, make negative decisions about a girl in heels. I'm not sure it's about feeling threatened. I suspect it's more a cultural disapproval thing. Megan

So true, Amanda Snake. I love my heels paired with formal wear, as dressy as I can justifiably be for the occasion. When I wear daring heels, I tend to have ultra-subdued top and bottom pieces that cover well. I saw from your profile here that you wear very classy black heels as well. Do you find that female critics have an air of classifying you with women that dress less tastefully just because you are wearing heels rather than only seeming jealous?

Kathy and Megan, actually I do think it is a mostly a jealousy and feeling threatened issue, at least around where I live. I don't care, I wear my power heels with pride! It makes me think of

    :wavey:
  7. How dismal that the winter is wearing you two down, I am glad you have ways to brighten it! As for me, I soaked a pair of white sheer pantyhose so that it was like a second skin and my red toe nail polish peeked through very Jane-ishly--where is that Jane anyways? I paired this with the white eyelet skirt I wore with my copper-gold metal plate Victoria's Secret heels and the white sandal heels with that diamond-knot look DeBeers made so popular. I was walking out past the student housing and stepped deep into what turned out to be very melted snow. It was so soft but a very sudden temperature change, I wonder if this is what it will feel like for Megan when she tries out the bucket of water? It is never this warm in Minnesota this time of year, it is incredibly eerie. Hmm. Well tomorrow I have a Math exam and yes, Megan, last time I was very deliciously distracting so I will have to try for it again... I am thinking of my Roulette Carlos Santana heels in multicolor plus my matching dress to go with your spring cheer-up theme, Sharon, and your love of colors, Megan. I will be thinking of you both, and our dear Heidi in whatever corner of the world she is gracing, for luck. :wavey: xoxo

  8. I agree. It moves me to think of what a waste of talent it was to loose Whitney to drugs and her death just underscored this for me. Drug addiction is one of the things that is hard for me to look past and I have a feeling there is more back story here.

Her story reminds me of one of my favorite movies,

. The song in video I linked to is A Heart is a House for love, one of the singers shoves the house pianist off the piano because he is purposely not playing the music as scored. It is set at a competition that is rigged against it but they nail it! After one of the singers gets involved in
his voice is ruined. (The link shows the scene where he tries to get back into the group by singing their old song horribly.) Seems familiar when Whitney
    Wasted potential is tragic.
  9. Doit aimer ribbon heels ♥ ♥ ♥

Here's a pair worn by Candace, one of my favorite Victoria's Secret Angels, for the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. How much do I love Victoria's Secret? hmmm... :wavey:

As for ribbon heels, I adore these and cannot seem to find enough of the right kind. Compared to most common styles, I like less lucite, less platform, more like... the attachement. I own a pair exactly like this, also by Delicious, except the main part of the shoe (not the ribbons) has a zebra print.

  10. Scrappycoco, you're legs look amazing in that last pic of you in the Lei maryjanes. Please don't cover up your legs in boots! I love the idea of balancing traditionally "masculine" and "feminine" articles of clothing.

This is my bias, as someone that dresses up for everything, but I think you should stick with the heels and not do sneakers, loafers, or the like. A stacked heel like Heel-Lover mentioned would look good, but I think you can do the Lei maryjanes. I agree that the patent heels look to dressy for the looks you have paired them with, and I think a black dressy "mens" shirt, possibly with embroidering or something else that might elevate it would lot better than the original shirt. The white turtle neck is close, but it feels like something is missing.

I think you could do black tights, but like I said, what a shame to cover your legs. I say do a dressed-up denim skirt look instead of a casual one. Hose, the heels, a black dressy shirt. The black of the shirt will help pull it together. Have fun! Can't wait to see what you go with. :wavey:

  11. I was super daring, and I thought how Heidi might like details so here goes:

I walked to one of the study areas and was about to take a drink from the drinking fountain when I realized there was no one around. As though I was about to vandalize/steal something, I looked up and down the hall. Still no one. So I ran the water and put my fingers in the spray, transferring the drops to wear my "toe cleavage" would have shown if I weren't wearing black tights with a grey and white floral pattern up the sides.

The water was cold, like when snow gets in my heels. I was surprised how much fun it was. Sharon, you mention filling your shoes waaay back in this thread while at work and I thought that must be part of your fun--the coolness. Do you ever enjoy the temperature change more than the actual wet feel? Do you like warm or cold temperature change best?

Megan, when you have tried out soaked shoes it sounds like you have gone with cold natural water like a stream or warm baths inside. Which do you prefer? Is the cold more daring and the warmth more relaxing?

These do seem very Megan, if I can really claim to know what that means, lol. A wedge is a nice, stable choice. I see that it is zipped, Sharon will like that for water potential, lol. :wavey:

  12. Hello all,

I was wondering, how do you deal with the shortened stride while wearing high heels? I have noticed that all of my heels, some to a greater degree than others, shorten my stride. In general, the higher the heel (minus the platform) the shorter my stride.

I adjust to the particular form of the shoe and learn to adjust my walk to lengthen my stride closer to my natural stride. When I know I need to walk more quickly, I pick a heel that is more natural for me to walk in--not necessarily lower. I noticed that the flexibility of the heel has a lot to do with how natural I feel walking in them. So I go with a more flexible heel, or a more flexible heel that is also lower. This is for the days that I have to walk a lot between buildings and will both be in a rush and others behind me will be in a rush. Don't you hate being passed when you're wearing heels? I make it a point to avoid it, but also avoid that jerky "chicken walk" some have.

  13. I had dinner with them on! The water is all dried up, I got the idea from Sharon saying she pours water into her shoes as she's working. I ran the water in the tube enough to splash the toe box all over and some drops splashed in. This is my second pair of closed toe shoes, the rest are all peeptoe :) Well, not counting my black sequined shoes which are now converted into peeptoes, worn out yesterday for the first time. I like that the water dries out, I don't think I would enjoy squelching in heels. I few cold drops is refreshing though, I might wear them for luck on my math quiz tomorrow they add some cool drops at school! That would be very daring for me. I think they will look great with a long, "pencil" skirt in black with thin white pinstripes that shows off my waist perfectly. I wonder if it's fair for me to be so distracting on a quiz day... :wavey:

  14. Sharon, such intriguing suggestions! Just splashed some new heels with enough water to drip into the toe box. It's sitting there cold and wet... I am not sure I could soak these pretty ladies much more, but we'll see if I can live up to you and Megan! Megan, I my browser is not following the link correctly. Hopefully you can upload the pictures? I am glad to hear you're excited, it is so nice to get new shoes. I might finally go try on some boots myself tomorrow night... Just popping in for now, but I will be back later tonight :wavey:

  15. Trolldeg, we don't seem to stick to getting our feet wet all the time! lol. Anyways, it is nice for me to have a set of female friends online that understand the perspective of women wearing heels all the time.

I have increasingly been posting more in the everybody section since, like Roxy, I find that in general the guys have more interesting things to say. The general girls section, outside of getting your heels wet, is more "yes" and "no," and similar short answers probably since heels really are not as deeply meaninful for most girls. For me, they are. I think the guys here understand how liberating it is to go about in heels, for a different reason. So I love to read the guys section too, but I show restraint and don't comment :wavey: Your stories are uplifting and fun.

  16. Sound advice, Sharon. There is one pair of heels I own that are so much fun and since they are PU they hold up very well against the elements I so love to brave. They have a decent, camoflaged platform that does not stand out too much as seen from above thanks to the neutral tone. These were pretty cheap shoes that I did not think to buy more of because I did not realize how well they would hold up. They also made them in purple sueded man-made materials. I really wish I had gotten another in pewter and one in purple! I am trying not to cave in and buy boots before I go out to try on different styles. It is hard because Victoria's Secret has boots on clearance with an extra 30% off! I do buy a good proportion of my heels online, Megan, but usually I carefully scrutinize the image, or my husband does for me, to avoid the most common pitfalls. Of these, among the worst is the steeply inclined heel that provides no support and puts none of the weight on the arch and heel and all of it on the soft part of the toes. Carlos Santana is really good for making heels with the proper arch. I would have so much fun shopping where Sharon has recommended! That is quite a lot of pounds, though! To me anyways. I tend to buy my good, designer heels at less than half the price and my lesser-known/no-name heels even cheaper. I have been more spendy lately, I wonder if that has to do with my frequent visits here :wavey:. lol

  17. I hope it's okay that I post even though I'm a woman... :wavey: I was shocked that you all wear and like the style of women's general shoes other than heels! I love heels and they are all I own. By absolute necessity I have a pair of old, old Converse for gym class and jogging but not to wear any other time. I did not realize they could be likeable other than wearing them because that is "the type of shoe women ought to wear," but there must be if you guys are and you also have the good taste to love heels. What do you find that you like in women's shoes? Do you ever find it anoying that shoemakers like to tack a bow on to any women's shoes rather than actually build design elements?

  18. How exciting for you! I really hope this means you will be sharing some of your links/pictures of your favorite heels. :)

It really is lovely to be able to express heel love to the level that it is accepted here; although I can't appreciate how freeing your experience is as a woman myself, I am right with you on not having anyone as preoccupied with heels in real life. Sometimes you just want to talk to someone who lives heels :wavey:

  19. Oh, ok. I did not take it as bad as you seem to think, sorry! Lol, goes to show how tough it is for you and I, and everyone for that matter, to express nuances without all the nonverbals you can use in face to face! On another note, I was wondering, how long did it take for your feet to go back to their normal, green-free hue after that fun soaking once upon a time?
