  1. I voted 4", but lately I have been wearing shoes in the 2" - 4" range. I have been noticing that there are a lot of cute heels that are sub 4". In fact, I am thinking of even getting a few pair of cute flats or kitten heels to add to my collection.

There are loads of great mid-low heels out there i think. And I really like them...

  2. I know this place is all about heels but I like flat ballerina type shoes too. I think they can look and feel as good as a pair of heels (especially the pointy toed ones..) but heels definitely come first. A nice pair of ballerinas make a nice change when you're tired of walking tall. Am I alone on this or are flats perhaps a taboo subject??

  3. Well, it's early days for me. I've been wearing heels outdoors for years now but nearly always in secluded places. I have walked in the street outside my flat but always after a heavy dose of dutch courage and under the blanket of late late nights. However, in the past few days since being on this site and reading all the cool stories I'm feeling more and more like making the step outside in public. The thought of it is so exciting! I think having good friends helps too as I'm starting to learn.

  4. I didn't vote either way because I'm not sure quite where this is taking me yet. I've been a closet heels wearer for years but I'm slowly starting to reveal my secret to certain close friends and since doing that and started letting go I've found myself getting strong urges to try wearing much more feminine clothing like skirts, shorts, tops and dresses and also make up. I have bought a few womens clothes but it's always been a bit of a rush job - I feel quite apprehensive about it much like when I go out shopping for heels - so the results haven't been that great. I also tried a bit of make up but it was a total car crash - looked like I'd had a fight in the make up department!! Got mascara and eye liner all over my face and nearly poked my eyes out in the process! I think I might need some female help here... But I agree with some of the previous comments that men generally don't look that great in womens clothes. Having suppressed my feelings about heels for so long, I'm determined not to do the same with these new urges to try womens clothes. It's exciting when I think about it so want to explore it. But I think that womens clothes will be something I keep for me and any prospective partner (I am single at the minute). I do, however, really like the idea of being able to venture out in heels dressed in my more usual attire and I am working (mentally) towards that day. The stumbling block for me is that I only really enjoy obviously more feminine style shoes i.e. high stilettos and mostly pointy toes which are not very discreet although I do have a taste for ballerina style flat shoes too so I think this may be my starting point (not the bright silver ones though!). So who knows! We shall see...

  5. Wow! Good shoes! I hope your mum is cool with it but sounds like who have got cool friends anyway. I've been at it for years now and I've only recently felt the need to tell certain friends and it's sometimes quite hard but I definitely feel better for it.

  6. Most of my shoes are on the cheap side and some of the cheapest have also been the best. I mostly get them from ebay, barratts, evans and long tall sally which is where I want my next pair from. They are £50 which is possibly the most I've ever spent on a pair of heels but they will be worth every penny!

  7. My name is Dan and I love to wear heels. My story: I've had a thing for heels for about as long as I can remember - I first realised it doing my paper round aged 14 or so and seeing a pair of heels in the porch of a house i delivered to and having this overwhelming urge to wear them. I started buying and wearing heels a few years after that. The first few pairs were often way too small and would kill my feet but getting the internet really opened up my options and i was able to buy shoes that fit. Since then I've bought hundreds of pairs but it's only recently I've been consistantly buying pairs I really like and keep hold of. I've always been a bit scared of my enjoyment of heels for all the usual things of being scared of what people think etc.. and as such I've always kept it to myself. In recent years I have shared it with 1 or 2 close friends and girlfriends and although the response has never been negative (some have been very positive), I struggle to be more open about it. My favourite shoes are pointy stillettos 3-4inch but i also like round toes, mid heels, boots - ankle and high leg - strappy sandals and flat ballerinas. I don't really like platforms or wedges. Looking through the forums, I see there are many people talking about experiences so very similar to mine - it's nice knowing I am not the only one! I don't know what i will be able to contribute to this site or if I will get anything from being here but I know I'm bored of keeping it to myself. It's exciting and I want to be able to really share that excitement! So, there you go. In a nutshell. More to follow I hope............ x
