  1. Hi Bern,

Passed by on I196 on tuesday evening and again on wednesday afternoon. My day ran really late on tuesday with incredible back up in traffic on the route as well as oppressive heat; when I passed Saugatuck it was in the middle of a massive thunderstorm, yikes. So unfortunately I did not get a chance in western Michigan but did have a fun evening with friends on wednesday night in Chicago out and about on Halstead and Broadway Streets; had cooled down to a respectable high 70's on wednesday evening. Was able to wear the 5 inch stiletto heel Little Shoe Box black leather thigh Boots out for the evening; over white dressage jodhpurs.

    David,

Did you ever make it to Saugatuck? Did you wear your heels? Hope you had some fun!

  2. Hi Bern,

No problem. Thank you for the tips on Sagatuck, will try and make it there.

    Safe travels next week.

    David

    David,

I just returned from a 3 day sales trip and have to go on the road again next week. We have a customer in Lima Ohio that we built some dies and weld equipment. They are ready for the die tryout and I need to take one of my Techs there for a couple of days.

I will not be able to join you this week:(

Please go to Sagatuck if you can. It is a unique little town with many little stores and great restaraunts. Walley's is a great place to go for Perch.

I look forward to the next time we can heel together.

  3. Hi Bern,

I arrive at 2:30pm into O'Hare, after renting the car and on the road, should be at the hotel in Grand Rapids by 7pm. I am staying right near the Grand Rapids Airport. Can meet either 1/2 way or at Sagatuck.

Would be great to meet Mrs Bernheels.

Is Stiletto 2004 able to join us?

    David

    David,

Where will you be staying on Tuesday night?

3.5 hrs from O'hare is plenty of time. If you stay in GR then it is 40 minutes to Sagatuck from GR. Let me know and I can meet you somewhere in between and then go to Sagatuck - or just meet you there. I am about 25 minutes from Sagatuck.

Maybe I could get the wifeto join us?

Let me know what your schedule is so we can plan.

    Bern

  4. Cool. Best night for me is the 2nd as I have to be down in Chicago for the night of the 3rd. May be late on the 2nd...will check my flights etc and drive time (about 3.5 hours fro O'Hare ?).

    David

    Hey David,

There is a town just south of GR called Sagatuck - very gender friendly. I wear my heels there often. Maybe we could head down there and walk around and have a mini heel meet. I may have to think of a disguise - Know some people in the area. It would be fun - no hassle.

Let me know what night works for you. Sounds like fun.

    Let's do it

    Bern

  5. Hey Bern & Stiletto,

I may have to be in Grand Rapids for a quick business trip next week (august 2-4); flying into O'Hare and driving up to Grand Rapids on the 2nd and then flying back out of O'Hare on the 4th. If trip comes together (a) are you in town or in area and (:irked: did you want to have a fun heel meet up on the 3rd?

    David

Hey, Bern and Stiletto, now that I've met both of you, I think you really ought to get together and meet each other. You guys would hit it off well, I think. And you're in similar lines of work, too, so you've got a lot in common. Do make the effort. I doubt if you'll be disappointed, and you could develop a nice friendship. Go for it!

    Steve

  6. Thanks Vector for the post!

    David

Thanks to Vector for posting the pic he took. The characters from L to R are Bernheels, Spikesmike, Iloveboots, Vector's lovely princess, and Steve63130.

    Nice shoes and boots!

  7. Hi Johnie,

Thank you for organizing and sorry we did not get a chance to meet. Look forward to finding another opportunity in the future. It was great having the staff all ready for us at Ruby Tuesday's; table set up; reservation showing; and a great location.

    Cheers,

    David

I deeply regreat not being able to show after all the time I personaly put into this meet. Unfortunalty ther are some things I have no control over, like what my boss tells me to do. Sory I disapointed you Mike but I got a mortgage to pay. 1st things 1st. Have a nice day.:)

  8. Well said and I second that in motion!

    David

I agree fully. The lack of empathy for johnieheel is disappointing. Maybe johnieheel is on the radar for a raise, for a promotion, for new responsibilities that will enable him to live a better life with more freedom and less financial pressure. Maybe johnieheel needed to go into work to improve his job security, to insure his basic job survival in an economy rampant with joblessness.

He's still spent two years organizing meets, following through on something that requires steadfastness of purpose that only 3-4 people on hhplace have ever possessed.

I experienced a similar situation for the 2009 World Heel Meet. It was the 4th consecutive annual world heel meet that I had poured my heart into organizing. I couldn't make the meet at the last minute due to a last minute career opportunity, but now I've escaped the corporate rat race as a result and work when I want (unless it's a corporate gig), where in the world I want, pretty much with whoever I want and own property in NYC. It's the ultimate lifestyle of freedom few people achieve during their working years.

Like Steve63130 said, "Let's celebrate what unites us (our common interest in high heels) and not dwell on what divides us."

  9. Hi Steve,

Great comments, thank you. Just arrived back home after 10 days on the road (in the air). Had a great time, was awesome meeting you, Vector and his GF for the first time and getting together with SpikesMike and BernHeels again. The time flew by, could not believe that when I got into the car it was 2:30pm after we began our meet at 11am!

Lots of Fun! And let's keep the fun going....meets are a fantastic place to share, meet new friends and be yourself!! Have enjoyed help to organize many meets over the past 5 years, everyone has been rewarding whether its 2 of us showing up or 35 to 40 members showing up as we experienced at the World Heel Meets in London & Bristol, UK and the First North America Meet in Feb 2009 in Chicago.

    Cheers, David

We had a fabulous time, good food, good service, great conversation - we all really enjoyed the event and the 3 hours passed quickly.

Mike, it was great seeing you again. Your outfit was fearless! I dunno how you do it. Mike, I'm sorry you feel so strongly about never returning to Canton. To me it was no big deal. Johnie has hosted the previous two heel meets and it was unfortunate that he couldn't make this one, but he does have a job responsibility. You are retired and have more control over your life than he does. I don't think your words above were very understanding of his situation. After all, he apologized in advance for not being able to make it. I'm sure he felt badly about it, and he did miss a great time. So no need to pour salt on his wound, as it were.

Vector, I certainly enjoyed meeting you and your bubbly and charming companion, Marie. You are a delightful couple to be with and great conversationalists. I look forward to seeing you again soon, too. Thanks for coming all the way from NY. Hope you enjoyed the Football Hall of Fame.

Bernie and David, I really enjoyed meeting you; the conversation was great and I loved your boots. I think we all hit it off very well and I look forward to another encounter with you both in the near future. I'm glad you two travel a lot in your jobs. It makes the chances of a future meeting that much better. Thanks for coming!

RadioDave: Where were you? I was hoping you'd be there, after you indicated you would be. Hope you didn't get sick. It would be good to see you again soon, also!

Johnie, thanks for setting up the event. We appreciate your effort to plan it, and I'm sorry you could be there. I was looking forward to seeing you again. Please don't be bitter at Mike's comments. Let's celebrate what unites us (our common interest in high heels) and not dwell on what divides us. Thanks again.

To everyone who was thinking of coming but didn't, you missed an absolutely delightful time. Please do yourself a favor and attend the next Ohio heel meet, whenever it is!

    Steve

  10. Awesome, thank you. look forward to seeing everyone on the 25th. Do you have the address/cross street?

    Thanks,

    David

I just made resorvations at Ruby Tuesdays for the 25th at 11:00 am. They are waiting. :) Any questions, you may call 330-494-0232 and speek with Charley.Manager. See u all there. :)

  11. Looking forward to meeting everyone on Saturday the 25th in Canton. Is there anyone else interested in joining SpikesMike, Bernheels and I out on Friday night? Have not selected a location yet, waiting to see who else is interested. David

  12. Couple of meet opportunities coming up, ie Montreal, June 1; Toronto June 2; Akron, Ohio June 24 & 25. Able to join us?

    David

I am a whatever heels that interest me for the day kinda person, boots often.

As winter has just pasted I can enjoy heeling again as the need for ski boots and winter boots is gone.

Yesterday I had a pair Western boots on all day with a 4" heel, but wedge heels sandals and what the weather throws out I adjust. Canada is awesome for boots most of the year especially out in the sticks!

    Mtnsofheels

  13. If we could make it work for the June 24/25 nights we would be there in a heartbeat!

    David

If anyone is interested in a one or two night Bed and Breakfast stay in central Ohio where the guests are ONLY heelers from HH Place, I can arrange it. Two available weekends are July 2-4, 2011 (Saturday to Monday - a two-night package for $220) and July 9-10, 2011 (Saturday and Sunday - a one-night package for $110). You'd be free to wear your heels the entire time among like-minded guests. It's a liberal college town and you could wear your heels in public, too, if you wanted.

The B&B is in Granville, Ohio, and July 1-4 is the town's 4th of July festival - lots of people, a midway with rides and games, all kinds of food, music, dancing, etc. A guy in a white shirt, blue jeans, and red stiletto pumps wouldn't get much attention, and if he did, it would be positive! After the festival is over, on the following weekend, Granville reverts to a sleepy little college town (school is out for the summer) and it's quiet and restful. Relax with a book, enjoy interesting conversation with fellow heelers, and marvel at a fascinating home with a lot of history.

No matter which weekend you choose, it will be an unforgettable experience.

Anyone seriously interested, please pm me with your email address for more info.

  14. Hi Naomi,

Love to have you come and join us at one of the Montreal Heel Meets we organize. The next one is on Wednesday, June 1 downtown at Mado's.

    David

    Hello all.

I just finished signing up and was very excited to create my first post. Greetings to everyone from Montreal. My name is Niomi and I love everything about high heels. Been collecting them for a long time now and I even got my own pair of Christian Louboutin high heels, which I was very lucky to get for half price .

Montreal is known to be one of the best party places in the world, with many beautiful and sexy women wearing all sorts of high heels. This forum is something I will definitely introduce to many of my girls.

  15. I am real easy. Only staying in Cleveland as that is where I am all week. The drive is really short to Akron/Canton area so meeting up with you in the Akron/Canton area is not a big deal. Also hope some of the local folks will also join us in Akron/Canton in addition to the Saturday lunch? David

  16. actually staying up near Cleveland. Can drive down to your hotel and meet you there.

    SpikesMike, what are your plans?

    David

    David,

I will be there Friday and Saturday night. Would love to meet and have some fun. Are you staying at a hotel near Akron? I will be driving so I can take others around. Let me know.

    Will be fun.

    Bern

  17. Hi Steve,

That is cool. I am happy meeting for lunch and some shopping.

If anyone wants to meet up on Friday or Saturday evening let me know, always fun to meet members and share. Sounds like BernHeels and SpikesMike are also available to meet up Friday and Saturday evenings?

I just booked my flights so I will be there.

    David

In the past, all we've done for the heel meets are lunch and shoe shopping. But if out-of-town overnight visitors want to do more, that's fine! Organize it and let people know.

    Steve

  18. Will be there for both friday and saturday night as well.

    David

    Hi David,

I will book a hotel somewhere near Akon. I usually stay at one of the Marriot Chain - get points - will see what is near there. Think I will stay Friday and Sat night - head home on Sunday. Will bring boots and pumps - depends on the weather.

    Bern

  19. Hi Bern,

I will be in Cleveland prior to heading down to Akron. Have not booked a hotel yet, will do so in the next few days. For me, Ohio is a go as I have to be there the week prior.

Look forward to the details from Johnieheel.

No problem on "no bike"...yup, will be fun! Look forward to seeing mike again as well, we had lots of fun in Vegas!

    David

I would prefer to ride my Harley - but I may have to plan some sales visits in the same area near the end of that week. That way I am there and can bring a variety of heels and clothes to wear. Hope you don't mind David:) We will have fun like we did in Toronto

Let me know when the 25th is solid and I will start to plan my journey.

What time do you normally meet on Sat?

David - where are you staying?

    Bernheels
