  1. Cool, literally "one step at a time"!

Sounds like a good experience at work on Tuesday

    David & Cathy

Earlier this week, I wore my tall black cowboy boots, jeans tucked in, on and off throughout Tuesday. Since it was a cold rainy day, several employees wore boots. I started my day in boots for about 1.5 hours, even worked a few desks looking at their computers. Spent mid morning in dress shoes, then changed back into cowboy boots to go out to lunch. It was a slower day at our office, but it was a little nerve racking spend the last half hour in boots, wondering if I would be called out or teased. Left for home, since I started early, my supervisor got a passing glance at my boots through the glass door entrance. This is no big deal since she has seen me at a few outside company events in my cowboy boots.

Still waiting and wondering if I could manage to wear them for an entire day. But at least I spent a good 2 hours in boots in a work day, which is a record for me.

  2. Sammie & Reena on their way to the Las Vegas/2nd Annual North America Heel & Boot Meet

Las Vegas was fun! Sorry not more members were able to show up or attend.

On Thursday evening we ended up with four of us, SpikesMike (red calf length lace up Boots, 6 inch heels and spurs with a jean skirt), iLoveBoots (crotch high black leather Boots with 7 inch heels and 2 inch platform over white dressage jodphurs), Lady Sultry (knee high black leather 4 inch heel Boots over jeans) and Nick. At dinner we sure had the attention of the hostess, waitresses and also the folks at the bar who had us make an encore appearance in our high heel Boots for their camera's! A couple who entered the restaurant wanted to see what all the commotion was about and when seeing our high heel Boots the lady commented, "now that's sexy"! On our Fremont Street walk to the Griffin Lounge we were stopped a few times, first by a couple of ladies from Wales who were quite taken by the heels and Boots, of course pictures followed! We had a great evening at the Griffin, awesome conversation and a few of the other customers in the lounge also in thigh Boots, lovely!

Friday dinner was four of us, iLoveBoots (crotch high black leather Boots with 7 inch heels/2 inch platform over suede jodphurs), SpikesMike (brown leather skirt with black leather thigh high Boots with 6 inch heels and spurs), Hoverfly (black leather 4 inch heel Boots) and Texasbumpkin. Awesome meal and terrific conversation. The group joined Lady Sultry (black leather thigh high Boots with 4 inch heels over black leggings), Nick and Rena (knee high black leather Boots with front lace and leather skirt) at the Brass. It was definitely a high heel Boot crowd!

Many many many thanks to SpikesMike (Ohio), Hoverfly and Texasbumpkin (New Hampshire) and Lady Sultry, Nick and Rena (Las Vegas) for making the meet so much fun!

2nd Annual North America High Heel/Boot Meet is in the books.....now the planning starts on the 3rd Annual. Time for an east coast meet, maybe NYC in March 2012???

    Cheers,

    David & Cathy

"Salvation is away from the Vegas Strip, in the old downtown illuminated by restored retro neon lights. Two years ago, I had a riotous time at Beauty Bar in my stiletto heel thigh high Boots: 80s dance tracks and manicures, with a hilarious floor show by drag queen Toni. Next door is The Griffin, a dark and gargoyle-y bar with strong drinks and no cover. The Downtown Cocktail Room has a good selection of our beloved absinthe (we had Pernod and Mansinthe). To top it off, we won $15.50 from a slot machine — and screamed so loudly!"

    Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Please indicate by completing the poll; or posting on this thread; or PM/email to "iloveboots"; if you are attending "maybe" or "attending"; which nights; and how many in your party. The 1st Annual NA Heel Meet in Chicago had 28 people attend in Feb 2009 out of 55 registered (lots of food etc was wasted) so we need as accurate a count as possible.

We can wait till we're in Vegas to decide on when/where etc. For the first night why don't we plan on the Griffin (511 Fremont) and Beauty Bar (almost next door to each other at 517 Fremont) at 9PM after dinner at Second Street Grill? Two years ago, I had a riotous time at Beauty Bar: 80s dance tracks and manicures, with a hilarious floor show by drag queen Toni.

Have not received any feedback on the 5 clubs listed below. We can wait till we're in Vegas to decide on when/where etc. For the first night why don't we plan on the Griffin (511 Fremont) and Beauty Bar (almost next door to each other at 517 Fremont) at 9PM after dinner at Second Street Grill? I am in Vegas on the 5th and can look after making sure we have tables at each location. Let me know if this works for everyone? We could then make the Brass (Hennesseys) our Friday night bar?

  10. Friday, March 18/2011 Heel/Boot Meet in Vancouver - We had a lot of fun friday evening in Vancouver. There were a total of 5 members who attended the Meet. Hades could only stay for 1/2 hour but it was awesome having the opportunity to put face to name and make a new friend. By 7pm we had iloveboots, Francine, Sarah and Bootlover66 at the meet. Bootlover66 gave the meet a very international flavour visiting Vancouver from Germany. The high stacked cowboy style heel thigh high Jean Gaborit Boots were a hit with everyone! Francine's 2 inch platform 7 inch stiletto heel open toe thigh Boots also grabbed lots of attention. Sarah had a new pair of 4 inch stiletto heel black leather knee Boots which were killers! And iloveboots wore his black leather Jean Gaborit thigh high boots with a 5 inch heel and red leather edging over black suede leather riding pants. We all enjoyed great conversation and around 10pm headed to a local club a block or so away to continue a fantastic evening. We definitely had the attention of the Moxie staff who loved the heels and Boots. Another FUN Vancouver Meet! Francine enjoyed herself so much she is joining us all at the 2nd Annual North America Heel/Boot Meet in Vegas, April 7-10! David

Sent a private message response. Friday morning does not work unfortunately. I know Bootlover66 is in meetings as am I in the morning. 5:45/6pm would work though and we can just begin an early start to the meet that is set for 7pm....same place, Moxie's in the Sandman on Davie Street.

    See you there!

    David

Missed this thread, sorry about that. Would Friday morning at all work for a quick get-together? I'm busy in the afternoon :silly:. I might be able to join you for an hour ~6, but it's a long drive for me so it's not that great.

  15. Terrific news. If you can make it to Antwerp please say Hi to Ian from David & Cathy in BC, Canada! Glad all is working out and a wonderful new Boot experience is only a few days away now!

    David

Well, finally, after two attempts I just got a hold of Ian.

He sounds like a nice guy.

He says that they lost lots of e-mail due to an extra malfunctioning

spam filter and that they found out about that very recently.

He is at the moment at a car fair in Antwerp and says he has the

boots with him and has stretched them a lot and that they should

fit now. He says that he measured them again and admits more or less that

they were too tight. If the streching is not sufficient he is willing to mount a zipper

in the side although that is a rather messy affair.

I will know on Sunday morning only whether I can go to Antwerp to

see him there. That would be the best solution. He can then see whether

there is anything else that is not OK. If I cannot come he will mail the boots

    on Monday.

Finally something that sounds very positive.

I will post when I know more.

    David & Cathy

    Hi Demoniaplatforms,

I have ordered from Gaborit before and had no problems with them or their boots. I got a pair of Madge and a pair of Siri boots. The Siri is very comparable to the Chris just a little lower, the basic structure is the same except for the shaft height. I have been eyeballing these (chris) myself and almost ordered them recently. Just time to do it is my problem

I think they look good and will suffice both needs for wearing them, over or under jeans/pants. Reasonable height and mine fit well and wear them whenever i can, just not in winter.

And as Yozz has mentioned they do take time to get them, hopefully sizing is done right and it still takes quite some time to get them, my order took 3.5 months. It was worthwhile though as I love the boots.

Hope it works well for you.

review from freestyle heeler, comparing experience on the Strip versus Downtown/Fremont.....................

"Salvation is away from the Vegas Strip, in the old downtown illuminated by restored retro neon lights. Two years ago, I had a riotous time at Beauty Bar: 80s dance tracks and manicures, with a hilarious floor show by drag queen Toni.

The Griffin. 511 Fremont St. Cozy Lodge Atmosphere.
