  1. That to me is the crux of it, falling into a form of narcissism to deal with an issue like this is too far.

One thing that might help is to find a pair of men's shoes or boots that you can really enjoy wearing every day, and reserve your heels for special occasions.

I used to own a pair of slouch boots. I loved them so much that I wore them constantly, and eventually wore out the soles. Unfortunately, the catalogue I ordered them from (International Male) has since discontinued them, so I've been relegated to wearing biker boots and hiking boots for the last several years. They're comfortable, but nowhere near as fun to wear as the 4" stiletto ankle boots I bought last Fall. But as much fun as those are, there are days when I am in no mood to wear them.

A few weeks ago, I decided to see if anyone still makes slouch boots for men, and found these. Suffice it to say, I couldn't believe my luck. I immediately ordered a pair, and have worn them every day since. They look and feel absolutely fantastic! I was even able to transfer the straps from my old pair to these.

Now I don't care what I put on my feet. Whether I'm wearing my new slouch boots, or my ankle boots, I feel great either way! :winkiss:

  2. I was 11 when I tried my mom's heels for the first time. I will never forget how completely different they felt compared to my sneakers. It was exhilarating. I remember she had an especially sexy pair of white, knotted open-toe sandals I absolutely loved. I always felt so incredibly lady-like in them, and I loved it! By the time I outgrew them, I was hooked on heels. I bought my first pair when I was 26, four years after I got married. They were a pair of black, 3.5" pumps I picked up at Payless. Regrettably, I hadn't told my wife about my affinity for high-heels until after she'd found the tag for them. Several months, many long discussions, and a few weeks of marriage counseling later, she finally understood that she had nothing to fear from my wearing heels. I'm not gay, or a closet transsexual. I'm just a guy who loves to wear heels. She had actually suspected something when we were still dating. I had told her how much I love a woman in heels, I just hadn't told her I liked wearing them myself. One night while at her apartment, she modeled a new pair of ankle boots she had bought. That same evening, I tried them on myself and modeled for her. I did it as a bit of a lark, and we had a good time with it, but they felt incredible. Then, while we were browsing local computer bulletin board systems (this was a few years before the net), she noticed I hadn't taken her boots off yet. She pointed that out, and asked if there was anything I wanted to tell her. I wish I had at that point, but I was too afraid she'd freak and dump me. 10 years later (we've been married for 14 years now), I own several pairs of sandals and two pairs of ankle boots, and I've been street-heeling since last September. My wife loves the way I look in heels, and often points out shoes she sees on TV and deals she finds online. She's particularly fond of pumps with a wide ankle strap. One thing I've noticed since I started street-heeling is how much more open I've become with my femininity. Having seen society's increasing acceptance of gender issues and read the testimonials on this board, I'm no longer concerned with how people perceive me, and a lot more comfortable expressing that part of myself in public. I've never felt more liberated, and it feels absolutely fantastic!

  3. Call me fickle, but when Winter reared its ugly head, the last thing on my mind was bending social rules by street-heeling. I was more concerned with staying warm. Well, Spring has returned, and I'm tired of waiting for Mother Nature to decide exactly when to finally bring some warm weather.

I started street-heeling last September (see thread). I just returned home from my first outing this year, and it felt awesome! This is also the first time I wore pantyhose outside, as I learned late last year just how much better heels feel with them than my tube socks.

Tonight, I went down to the local convenience store to pick up a couple of slushies for my wife, and then to IHop to pick up a carry-out she ordered for dinner.

It's only been a few months since my last outing, but it felt fantastic hearing the sound of my heels clicking against pavement again. God I've missed that! As for reactions, no one said anything. I just carried on like normal, and enjoyed a nice couple of chats during check-out at both places.

I'm going to go see Haunting in Connecticut tomorrow afternoon, with a buddy of mine. We went to High School together, and have been like brothers ever since. A lot of guys go bowling. Many shoot pool. We go see movies. He's known about my heel fetish for years, and is completely cool with being seen with me and my heels in public. We've already seen a few movies since I started street-heeling, so it'll be especially nice getting back into that action.

Here's a pic of my usual outfit, with my 4" Raven Lace-Up Ankle Boots. They were part of Payless' Fall '08 collection.

  4. Personally I would not wear sandals becouse of what you say...mens feet and toes are not really anything to make a second look at.

    Therefore only boots for me..:-)

Ditto that. My own sandals are for strictly around the house. I wear my boots in public.

  5. Posted a few pics in our "galleries" album, "iloveboots",

    david & cathy

    Great pics! :w00t2:

Since Spring's finally back around the corner, I'm going to start wearing my own heels out again. I wanted to street-heel this winter, but I was more concerned about keeping warm than challenging fashion stereotypes.

    ;-)

  6. I got the ankle boots pictured in this thread, last December. My wife suggested that I find a skirt to go with them, as they're way too sexy to be hidden under a pair of jeans. Since I'm not into crossdressing, I dismissed the idea outright.

There's one word I always use to describe myself to anyone who asks: Goth

And I adore Goth fashion. So, the other day, I got curious and decided to see if skirts specifically designed for men exist within the Goth fashion community, and I found this:

    http://www.dracinabox.com/more/on/details/24802

Woohoo! I'll be ordering one in the next few weeks. ;-)

They've got four other styles, but that wrap-around's the only one that we both feel will best keep any attention I get directed down toward my boots.

  7. I could see how some guys might get turned on by a man dressing up but personally, I couldn't get passed the part when you started taking you shirt off and putting on the pantyhose. Sorry, not my thing. I'm sure it was all in good taste though.

Ditto that. I was expecting a video of him at work, not getting ready for work.

  8. So are we back to saying "heel to toe" is the correct way to walk?"

Who's ever said it was incorrect? For that matter, who walks toe to heel anyway, even in flats?

Always, always, always "heel to toe" - especially in heels. It's how the foot's made.

The heel is the hardest, most stable part of the foot. Your toes, by contrast, are the most delicate, softest part. Biologically speaking, the heel of the foot is designed to take the full brunt of our weight first, followed by the toes. Who in their right mind would ever think otherwise?

  9. What's the thickness of the socks?

Dunno. I've never bothered measuring them, but they're quite a bit thinner than my tube socks.

I know even my thinnest pair is probably 2-3x thicker than pantyhose. Glad for you that the pantyhose enhances this for you.

Believe me, no matter the thickness, the difference in fabric alone, between cotton and nylon, is huge! Hell, even my Ravens feel better with pantyhose.

If you can, a picture from the front would be nice.

    See below.

How is the fit at the calf? I can't tell if it's a perfect fit, or a little tight I'm also curious to see eyehole spacing, to know if you had to lace them up tighter or looser to get a good fit.

Reading that, I realized they did feel a little tight at the calf, and that they really don't need to be that tight, so I re-laced them. They do fit beautifully.

]Are these the pants you plan on wearing with the boots?

    Yes.

It would be interesting to see the difference between pic #3, where all the heel (pretty much most of the shoe) is exposed, vs with a longer, bootcut pair of jeans, where maybe an inch or so of the bottom is all you'd see.

I don't do boot-cut. I've never liked boot-cut or flared pants. They've just never appealed to me, even on women. Straight-leg all the way for me, though I'd love to get my hands on a pair of stretch jeans. I'll have to lose another 20 lbs before I'd try any though.

Lastly, how does your shaving factor into your shoe-wearing plans? I've never done it myself, but I thought once you start shaving, you sort of want to keep doing it. If you do, I'm sure you'd want to wear some hose afterwards, and then boots or shoes with them. Does this mean you'll be wearing heels more than before? Certainly you could make that case to your wife (if you needed justification to wear them more).

Well, this is the first time I've ever shaved my legs, so I'm pretty much just experimenting right now. I used to wear pantyhose around the house, with my other shoes, but had never considered shaving my legs before. I stopped wearing pantyhose years ago because I was tired of the hassle of putting them on since I never wore my other heels outside.

I do like them clean-shaven though. I haven't even seen them this hairless since puberty, and they feel great. I definitely plan on keeping it up, which is why I bought the Remmington. And pantyhose look a helluva lot better on clean-shaven legs. Wow! Major improvement there!

As for whether I'm going to be motived to street-heel more than I do now, I really can't say one way or the other. I guess only time will tell. Having never street-heeled before, and then starting off with 4" stilettos just three months ago, was huge for me. And now, I'm going to start wearing pantyhose with them. I can't imagine how I'm going to feel stepping out of the house for the first time, never mind getting out of the car at a crowded store, or the ttheater. Right now, I'm just hoping wearing pantyhose in public won't make me feel anymore afraid to street-heel than I did the first time I street-heeled. The only difference between what I felt then, and what I'm going to feel, is that no one will ever see my pantyhose. I'm trusting that that fact alone will help greatly curb any apprehension I might feel.

Certainly you could make that case to your wife (if you needed justification to wear them more).

On the contrary, she loves them.

In any case, it looks like all around your having a great time.

    Most definitely! :welcome:

I also wanted to add, those gloves seem very practical. Let us know how they work out.

    Will do!

  10. Here are the pics I promised, fresh out of my digital camera!

The difference between trouser socks and pantyhose is really quite striking. There's absolutely no contest between the two. Pantyhose completely enhance the overall comfort of the boots, and how I feel wearing them.

    In a word: luxurious.

Also, the difference in the quality between these boots and my Ravens from Payless is very noticeable. I still love my Ravens, but these are definitely my favorite now.

    Pic 2: Pantyhose exposed

Pic 3: Pant leg down with pantyhose on

Oh, and, since I'm going to be wearing pantyhose with my boots now, I found these while looking for something designed to prevent snagging when putting pantyhose on:

    Pantyhose Love Gloves

I ordered a pair last night. :welcome:

  11. Good:

    * Started street-heeling for the first time in my life. Been doing it for the last three months now, and it feels fantastic!

    * It's true! No one gives a damn! It really is all a head-game we play with ourselves!

    * Wife is totally into it. She even got me to start shaving my legs and wear pantyhose.

    Bad:

    * Ummm... hmmm... can't think of anything...

  12. All righty then! I've tried sheer trouser socks, and I've tried pantyhose. And the verdict is...

You should notice a great difference in the fit and feeling of those boots after shaving your legs and putting on the pantyhose. It is incredible. Nothing like it.

... YOU were NOT kidding! Talk about a match made in heaven!

Unfortunately, it took me a good half hour to shave my legs with my razor blade, and I went through a fair bit of shaving cream in the process. So, I just returned from the pharmacy, where I bought something I've never thought I'd even consider: an electric shaver for women - the Smooth & Silky Secret by Remmington, for $15.

I just finished touching up both legs in less than a minute. This thing ROCKS!

And my wife has already decided that she now prefers my legs clean-shaven.

    hehehe

I'll post pics once I get around to taking them.
