  1. Last November, I saw an interview with Ruper Grant. He was wearing long hair and a full beard. He looked so awesome that I decided to grow one myself, and I love it.

Funny thing though... try as I have, I am unable to get myself in any frame of mind to wear my heels anymore, either in public or private. Combined with my waist-length hair, I feel more dashing - or "manly" - than effeminate, and my heels just don't work for the look I'm presenting now. Even funnier is that I don't mind. I love my heels, but I'm also a lot more physically comfortable in my Dingo and Skechers boots, and they look much better with my hair and beard.

  2. Because you wear heels, do you consider yourself a crossdresser?

No, because everything I wear from my ankles up is mens clothes.

I can't answer the rest of your questions because they assume the answer to your first question is yes, but I will say that my wife of 16-years loves my heels.

    • The first step out of the car will take several minutes
    • You will remember the first step out of the car for the rest of your life.

I can vouch for this. My very first outing was in a pair of 4" stiletto ankle boots. I bought them at a local Payless and put them on inside my car. Then I listened to one of my favorite 5-minute long Heavy Metal tunes before stepping back out of my car.

It felt absolutely incredible. I was finally able to stop feeling envious toward women who enjoy heels.

  3. The dead LAST thing I need is to get in an accident and have to exchange insurance numbers while garbed in a skirt and heels. That would be a tad embarrassing. Food for thought.

And that's why I only wear men's clothes when street-heeling.

  4. It's been about three or four months since I last wore my 4" stiletto ankle boots. I haven't been in the mood to street-heel lately, or wear them around the house for that matter. Just knowing I have the confidence to wear heels in public without a second thought is enough for me right now, so I've been enjoying the comfort of my sneakers and my Dingo slouch boots.

  5. For womens shoes, it's heels or nothing for me, and always a really sexy, ultra-feminine stiletto for around the house. For street-heeling, I don't do pumps or sandals, period. I only wear these, and always with a comfortable pair of jeans.

When I'm not in the mood to go out in heels, I love wearing these. They are, hands down, my favorite pair of mens boots I've ever owned.

He's a pic I took shortly after I started street-heeling a couple years ago. I'm wearing the Raven's I linked to in the first paragraph above.

  6. There are a few things to look for when spotting a fake Louboutin. Two of them can be found on the product page for those shoes: * It's important to stress on the official Christian Louboutin site that they currently don’t sell their products via the net. There are plenty of authorized retailers around the world that do sell the Louboutins, but if the order is coming out of China or Thailand, then the shoe is fake. The seller on that product page is in Hong Kong. * In big, bold, red, underlined print is a statement that reads, "There are too many fakes on eBay. Beware of what you bid. This pair is 100% authentic or 200% of your money back". Just a few lines below that, under the size, color, and condition of the shoe, is another statement that reads, "All sales are final. No returns." Those shoes are fake.

  7. My best friend from High School knows, as does my Father. My friend and I both graduated in 1990. I started street-heeling about two years ago, with a pair of 4" stiletto ankle boots I bought at Payless. I've worn them to the cinema with him on a number of occasions since then, and he's completely cool with it.

I don't wear heels around my Father.

One....and yes he has seen me wearing the boots in my avatar on a few occasions...

With respect, those boots look more like men's than women's, which is why your friend mistook them for your "good" shoes.

  8. My best friend and I saw Alice in Wonderland today. I wore my standard clothes - black jeans and a T-shirt - my black 4" stiletto ankle boots, and my favorite black ankle-length Rifle Coat by Wah Maker. I have dark brown, waist-length hair, and I wore it down. I also put on a fresh coat of my favorite black nail polish by Maybelline. I accessorized my outfit with a pair of 2" wide black leather snap-on wristbands accented with black lacing along the length of the bands. After the movie ended, we stopped by a grocery store on the way back to my place, to pick up a couple things for my wife. On our way out, my friend spotted a little girl watching me. We both had a good chuckle as he told me she watched me all the way to the exit, wide-eyed and jaw-dropped.

  9. Frankly I don't concern myself with gender equality, and I don't care whether or not it ever becomes commonplace to see men in heels. All I care about is how I feel when wearing them. I've been street-heeling for over a year now, and I feel absolutely fantastic no longer being envious of women.

  10. I can remember driving down the road, seeing a gal wearing a great pair of shoes, and my soul would ache because I wanted that experience so badly.

I don't think there's a man on this board who can't relate to that. I know I sure as hell do.

On Thursday morning as I drove to work I saw a gal with a great pair of pumps on waiting for the bus. Instead of the typical wishing that I would feel in the past what came up for me was a smile and the thought, “oh ya, I can do that too.”

    Yup, same here.

Pretty soon you'll be wearing your regular shoes, spot a beautiful woman wearing heels, and suddenly wish you were wearing your's, too.

    hehehe

  11. ... I left after the first on chore...

The word you were looking for is encore.

... I am cautious about being around kids when I’m wearing my boots because some parents are way over reactive.

I remember my first outing, there was a small group of Boy Scouts outside the grocery store. As I walked in, I noticed them watching me, and I kept thinking, "This should be an interesting memory for them."

    heh

  12. And then there are different type that are in between. I like to wear woman's shoes.... While I don't wear woman's clothing, I, too, care about my appearance... But it is infinitely easier for me to achieve my well dressed look because I stick exclusively to men's clothing.

Yup, I'm definitely more in line with this category of heeler.

Just recently, however, I got inspired to try adding a touch of glam to my appearance with makeup. The other day, discovered a band called Placebo. I found their web site, and was like, "Ooh, one of them looks kinda hot." Then I found out that person is their lead singer, a man named Brian Molko, and he looks absolutely gorgeous in makeup! Then I got curious and started Googling "guys in makeup," and holy crap! Then I started browsing makeup tip videos on YouTube, and got to thinking.

Suffice it to say, I am quite eager to start experimenting on myself, and I can't wait to see what I can come up with; preferably something tasteful that I can wear outside with my regular attire - black 4" stiletto ankle boots, black jeans, black T-shirt, and the occasional solid red or white long-sleeve Twill dress shirt, tucked in and unbuttoned down to my belt to expose my T-shirt.

My wife was elated when I told her, and is excited about helping me with makeup tips. :cry1:

I've got a makeup mirror on order and arriving this Thursday.

Here's a pic of Brian Molko:
