I've traveled a bit and have packed heels for wearing when out of town as my GF doesn't like me wearing heels in my home town.  Basically, like the other posters said, the TSA doesn't care about shoes.  They are looking for thongs that could be dangerous/destructive.  They don't care that when I traveled, one set of shoes are size 11, and the other size 8 (my GF size).  That goes for checked or carry on luggage.  So pack away and to paraphrase Bobby McPherrin's song, "...don't worry about a thing...".

One thing I've noticed about platforms, is that they are less forgiving on pebbles/uneven ground than non-platform shoes.

What is an inconvenience in single sole shoes can be a twisted ankle on platform shoes.

Funny how low heeled wooden sandals are less comfortable that 5 1/3 inch  stiletto boots!  Congrats!

When it comes to telling your parents, ultimately you know what is best.  Some parents will be OK some, will be grudgingly acceptable, some may say hell no!  Just realize that once the genie is out of the bottle, it ain't getting back in.

If you go the "hide route", have you considered opening a PO box or something similar at a business? 

Seems like Facebook also does the same thing!  UGH!!!

I'd love to, if I could find them in my messy storage area.  They are buried under a pile of shoes!

IMHO, ok style. Too pricey. 

Luckily for me I found a pair of the metal style of these a few years ago on Ebay for a reasonable price!

Awesome event!  What week of the month and night of the week does this occur?  It might be worth a visit next summer.  I hope they have good AC as thigh high boots can get hot in warm weather.
