Wuornos Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 I have a longstanding (yes, I'm punny) fascination and interest in women's high heeled shoes, and feet. I don't actually wear high heels myself. I like girls to wear them. Or dangle them, etc etc. Although I do have one pair of tacky 4" fake leopard fur pumps in my size that some girl left at my house. I wore them to work at a warehouse job I had on Halloween once, much to the horror of all. lol. They ultimately fired me. My tastes (although not my budget) runs to the snobbish. Not a particular designer, but I like things that are well-crafted. I have a small collection -gifts mainly. I don't wear them, I just look at them. I am an artist and integrate high heeled shoes and women's feet into some of my work. I am a huge fan of Dian Hanson and the old Legshow. Recently I was at Macy's and had an overwhelming urge to purchase a beautiful pair of pumps I saw, even tho I am currently sans girlfriend. That was weird. I guess I was missing my ex. I'm not a fan of the ballet style. I can't believe I just found this place! I'm pretty new to the whole online world, having run away to the mountains to become a Luddite in my 30s. I was recently banned for life from a Lesbian Chat room for saying "Males are p@ssies" Who knew that was offensive? I was just joking around. So if I commit any online faux paux that seem obvious to the rest of you, please clue me in before I make an ass of myself. Also, I am autistic, which sometimes makes online communication confusing. I'm not interested in dates, or cybersex, or anything like that- only to share thoughts on footwear. Please respect my boundaries. Even though I am not interested in men, I love the fact that there are so many men on this site proudly wearing the footwear of their choice, and further queering-up the world. I am privileged to be among you. Oh, and Happy New Years!!!

Wuornos Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 I'm sorry my gender statement (genderless/intersexed/queer) was censored from my greeting. I never referred to my sexuality- only my gender. Since male or female were the only profile options on this site, I felt it was pertinent. Also, many if not most greetings posted here declare not only the new member's gender but also specific affectational preferences. So I'm not sure why I was singled out for censorship. I hope there is not an anti-queer bias at play. I am absolutely delighted to be welcomed on this site, and hope I will be welcome here. Thank You.
jmc Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Wuornos, please be careful. The term "queer" is considered to be offensive by some people. Clearly you are not among that group. If you want to talk about heeled shoes, this is the best place on the Internet to do that. But we have to constantly guard against having overly graphic discussion taking over here. High heels do have a connection with sex and sexuality but we want to keep the discussion "clean" here. Many of our members are already having enough of a challenge wrapping their heads around their desire to wear high heels, graphic discussions of sexual practices will drive them away before they even register. Members who decide they want to get into detailed discussions of sexuality will not have difficulty finding it elsewhere on the 'net. As far as the male/female gender options, we do have a "for the girls" forum and we have learned "the hard way" (!!!) that women do not tolerate having their forum overrun by guys. We don't have a lot of female membership, we value the women who do participate here and having them around is worth giving them a little bit of "space". Have a happy time!

Thank you for the clear and excellent feedback. I adore this site, and love the fact that the focus is on the FOOTWEAR, not a buncha porn, etc. I adored the links to the Lynch/Louboutin collaboration, for example. I agree that keeping the focus on the shoes makes this a special and welcoming site for all. Thank you for so kindly responding to my concerns. Best to you.

Hiya Wournos Allow me to also add that, here @ HHPlace, you will find a very friendly, welcoming bunch of members, a lot of which all know each other personally for many many years. Now, picture yourself going to meet a bunch of friends for the first time. In walks one guy. "Hi, I'm Joe, I'm 30 and I'm a builder/contractor" In walks another friend. "Hi everyone, I'm Roger, and I'm a 45 year old photographer" Then, in walk Wuornos "I'm a genderless queer" Think of HHPlace as meeting with good friends. Your opening line really was not acceptable, and certainly was not appreciated, exactly as it would be in any other social situation. You wont find any prejudice here, but just as you would in any social situation, a degree of "appropriate behaviour" is expected. Anyway, welcome to HHPlace, we all hope you make many new friends and enjoy your stay here Heels for Men // Legwear Fashion // HHPlace Guidelines If something doesn't look right, please report the content ASAP!

You claims at offensiveness and inappropriateness are unwarranted. I am ever more grateful for jmc's clear and thoughtful response. Nonetheless I have no intention to argue, as I'm sure you mean well. I am just here for the shoes, like everyone else. Thank you for welcoming me to the site. It is truly a wonderful, singular site, and I am very pleased to have found it. P.S. My headline "I am Queer" was pointlessly overstated- due more to a lack of creativity (and perhaps a desire to find others like me on this site) than anything else. Anyway, good to be welcomed and aboard. Thank you.
