Today I decided to set myself a little challenge on my day off, buy some heels in a normal shoe shop. Stuck on a pair of heels & headed off to nearby Faith, & after a bit of plucking up some courage asked for and tried on these 1. http://www.faith.co.uk/images/default/en/catalogue/medium/417500.jpg 2. http://www.faith.co.uk/images/default/en/catalogue/medium/321200.jpg 3. http://www.faith.co.uk/images/default/en/catalogue/medium/311000.jpg Brought the second two pairs, although the last pair are a bit tight so I might take them back & get them to order me a size 9. Staff were really helpful & didn't mind when I asked to try them on & walked around to shop a while. Starting to realise that people either don't care or don't notice when I'm out in heels. Partly the problem is a lack of High Street shops that sell shoes in larger sizes, over a UK9. There are some but the selection tends to be fairly limited. I really like the second pair, classical and elegant. They look really comfortable. Enjoy wearing them! I've only ever bought heels from either self service shops before or specialist fetish shops, never a normal shoe shop. I'd been battling with myself for ages to make myself go out to buy some heels from a normal high street shop but never had the guts. I spent some time trying each of them on in different sizes and she didn't seem to be perturbed one bit. After only being able to LOOK at high heels in shops before, for once it felt so good to be able to TRY ON high heels in a shop and feel quite normal about it! I ended up buying the top three pairs and haven't stopped wearing them at home since! They all show toe-cleavage to differing degrees - the wedges just show a hint at the little toe, but the Mary Janes show all the toes! Now I just need to pluck up the courage to wear them out in public! Can't seem to make myself do it yet. My plan is to start with the wedges which should be the most inconspicuous, and then move on to the low heeled Mary-Janes - the toe-cleavage will make these a lot more obvious, I think. Not sure if I'll ever manage the high heel courts! But you never know! Can't wait for my next trip out for heels! There's nothing like a good bit of Toe Cleavage! Yet I've worn heels in public plenty of times now. Including right here in my own neighbourhood. Trust me. You can do this. It's no big deal. Very true, I've been wearing heels out ocassionally for years & very regularly for about the last 9 months. It's much harder to walk into a shop & try shoes on than it is to wear them out on the street. Give it a try, you'd be suprised how easy it is & in my trips out I've only seen one or two people even notice I'm wearing heels, I've even worn the one's in my avatar round some busy shops & nobody seemed to notice. The way I've always looked at it is that it shouldn't seem as odd to a shoe shop assistant who has probably seen MANY men trying on high heels before, as it would be to many random passers by who have probably NEVER seen a man in heels before. I do hear what you guys are saying about the fact that in a crowded street people's eyes will be distracted elsewhere, and when I see SO MANY people saying it on this forum it does make be realise that I probably am wrong in my assumptions. However, it still remains a big psychological barrier which I hope I will overcome sooner rather than later. There's nothing like a good bit of Toe Cleavage! Depending on how I feel, the number of other customers in the store, I either try them on or buy them, and they know they are for me and I can return them. I wish i had the bottle to do that. i only wear mine when i work at home a cuple of times a month and during the winter when the evenings are dark, i can leave work earlier and stop off somewhere that i think no-one will be and go for a short walk. I think people are just curious and wander why a man is wearing heels and really don't care anyway. I have some very close friends that are gay, men and women, and they don't even like heels but understand why I do probably better than I understand it.
