New shopping experience

Usually when I shop for heels I go into self service shops. Today I decided to set myself a little challenge on my day off, buy some heels in a normal shoe shop.

Stuck on a pair of heels & headed off to nearby Faith, & after a bit of plucking up some courage asked for and tried on these

Brought the second two pairs, although the last pair are a bit tight so I might take them back & get them to order me a size 9.

Staff were really helpful & didn't mind when I asked to try them on & walked around to shop a while. Starting to realise that people either don't care or don't notice when I'm out in heels.

Hi, Good to hear you had a positive experience. All of my heel buying has been online so far, but I expect that to change soon. Partly the problem is a lack of High Street shops that sell shoes in larger sizes, over a UK9. There are some but the selection tends to be fairly limited. I really like the second pair, classical and elegant. They look really comfortable. Enjoy wearing them! All best wishes, Tosca

Thanks, they are really comfortable, put them on as soon as I could before I finished my shopping trip

Was quite exciting walking around in a new pair of heels.

They are also the first pair I've had that had 'toe cleavage', thing it looks great.

Cribbs Causeway, Bristol.

Quick question for you, can I take shoes back to a different faith shop & get different size ordered?

As long as they are still available to order PLUS if we do them in a 9, then YES you can. HAS to be a branch though... Not a concession!!

Concession is like a little outlet within a department store, like a Debenhams. Branches are usually within shopping centres or on High Streets

Thanks, kinda spoils my plans, was going to head to Debenhams which is a bit closer

Will have to have another look for store nearby (Bristol is about an hours drive away).

Took these back today & order them in a size 9.

Couldn't resist browsing a while & ended up trying on some more shoes

Brought the last pair.

Ended up spending a while chatting to the girls working there. They were really nice & not at all bothered by me trying on heels.

One of the men that works there also heels

Got my eye on a couple of other pairs which I might have a look at when I go back to pick up my other shoes.

Anyone that is bothered about trying on heels, just give it a go you might be suprised at how positive the reaction is (and its great fun)

Was the guy working there, wearing heels at the time?

Nice taste BB_in_heels. Some great heels.

Loved this one. Would have been my choice.

DeSalto

I was tempted, but they didn't have my size

Can you tell us what branch of Faith this is at

Solihull, in the touchwood centre.

Nice one, BB_in_heels!

I've had a very similar experience a couple of weeks ago! I've only ever bought heels from either self service shops before or specialist fetish shops, never a normal shoe shop.

I'd been battling with myself for ages to make myself go out to buy some heels from a normal high street shop but never had the guts. I finally decided it was time about a couple of weeks ago and got myself down to Barratts and asked to try all these on:

It was so exciting to see the shop assistant emerge from the back with so many boxes of shoes for me to try on. I spent some time trying each of them on in different sizes and she didn't seem to be perturbed one bit. After only being able to LOOK at high heels in shops before, for once it felt so good to be able to TRY ON high heels in a shop and feel quite normal about it!

I ended up buying the top three pairs and haven't stopped wearing them at home since! They all show toe-cleavage to differing degrees - the wedges just show a hint at the little toe, but the Mary Janes show all the toes!

Now I just need to pluck up the courage to wear them out in public! Can't seem to make myself do it yet. My plan is to start with the wedges which should be the most inconspicuous, and then move on to the low heeled Mary-Janes - the toe-cleavage will make these a lot more obvious, I think. Not sure if I'll ever manage the high heel courts! But you never know!

Can't wait for my next trip out for heels!

There's nothing like a good bit of Toe Cleavage!

I work in the Kingston branch

Do you ever ask a guy in the shop who's looking at heels if he wants to try them, regardless of whether he's on his own or with a lady?

It's my opinion, no more, no less

Let me get this straight. You go into a shop and look the shopassistant in the eyes and say you want to try some heels. Buy 3 pairs. And you think wearing them would be embarrassing ? Too me it's much more nervewracking to buy the shoes than wear them. First time I tried womens shoes in the store was with Kneehighs in London. I never did it alone. Yet I've worn heels in public plenty of times now. Including right here in my own neighbourhood.

Trust me. You can do this. It's no big deal.

Very true, I've been wearing heels out ocassionally for years & very regularly for about the last 9 months. It's much harder to walk into a shop & try shoes on than it is to wear them out on the street. Give it a try, you'd be suprised how easy it is & in my trips out I've only seen one or two people even notice I'm wearing heels, I've even worn the one's in my avatar round some busy shops & nobody seemed to notice.

The way I've always looked at it is that it shouldn't seem as odd to a shoe shop assistant who has probably seen MANY men trying on high heels before, as it would be to many random passers by who have probably NEVER seen a man in heels before.

I do hear what you guys are saying about the fact that in a crowded street people's eyes will be distracted elsewhere, and when I see SO MANY people saying it on this forum it does make be realise that I probably am wrong in my assumptions. However, it still remains a big psychological barrier which I hope I will overcome sooner rather than later.

even though i've never been outside in heels, mainly because i haven't gathered enough courage to do so, a little bit also due to the fact that all my heels are sandals, mostly stilettos, i believe the worse thing that may happen to you is that some of the people that may notice it, will probably think that you're gay, and that's about it all, but on the other hand and it is also true that if anyone is looking at someone else's shoes it could be because he or she maybe a shoe lover, fetish, etc, so maybe will admire the courage of the one wearing them. got nowhere

well high55, I just happen to BE gay, but I do know the impression that a lot of people make about if you are GAY you wear heels (so un true in almost every case-myself being the RARE exeption to that rule) and even MORE untrue is that WEARING heels makes a guy INSTANTLY gay!!! it is so laughable to even THINK about these moronic concepts. this so-called "connection" simply amazes me to no end!

demoniaplatforms, i didn't mean GAY in an despective way, as a matter of fact many of my friends are gay, my business partner is gay, what i'm trying to say, is that normally people tend to judge wihtout real knowledge about, who you are, and why you do it, in my case, the fact of having a business partner being gay, meant that many people automatically thought i was gay to. i am a cd, and i do know the differences, but many people unfortunately think, correction don't think, just say whatever comes to thier mind. once again, sorry if i wronged you.

I have never bought shoes over the net. There is one or two stores in a major shopping centre that know the shoes are for me. Depending on how I feel, the number of other customers in the store, I either try them on or buy them, and they know they are for me and I can return them.

Wow, can men really wear heels in public in England. I wish i had the bottle to do that. i only wear mine when i work at home a cuple of times a month and during the winter when the evenings are dark, i can leave work earlier and stop off somewhere that i think no-one will be and go for a short walk. Was it a shopping centre where you went?

I believe it's all about how you present yourself. No one has ever accused me of being gay when wearing my heels. I think people are just curious and wander why a man is wearing heels and really don't care anyway. I have some very close friends that are gay, men and women, and they don't even like heels but understand why I do probably better than I understand it. So lets please get rid of "this gay if you wear heels" concept. Dosen't hold a candle to me.

real men wear heels
