DGMurdock Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Where can i buy high heel, platform boots or just regerural high heel boot made for men
Dr. Shoe Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 It depends on whether you mean styles actually designed for men or those designed for ladies but are masculine enough to be worn by men? Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Elegant Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Well, it depends on where you live and what your shoe size is. You can try companies that have their online shops and ship worldwide, or you can look for a brick-and-mortar shops. There are always some online auction services, like eBay (selection is great, but be careful as not all sellers ship worldwide) and second-hand shops (a.k.a. charity shops or thrift stores)- it's rather hard to find something nice-looking AND fitting there, but if you're lucky, you'll be more than satisfied. I'm on my way to buy some heels recently, and I've been trying to find something fitting in shoe shops. However, the sizes go up to 41EU- I need 43/ 44. I'm lurking at Allegro.pl (the Polish online auction site, still more popular here than eBay) and I think I'm gonna find something nice really soon. What is good for a goose, can be good for any gender!
dr1819 Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Welcome, DGMurdock. Currently there are exceedingly few companies making high-heeled boots specifically for men, while there are quite a few making high-heeled boots for men who're cross-dressing or are into transvestism. However, many men who've rejected the notion that a higher heel equates to femininity are buying the more masculine styles of women's high-heeled boots and shoes in ever-increasing numbers, as reflected by recent and rather significant increases in the variety of styles offered in larger sizes. The following companies specialize in larger sizes, and can offer you pretty much what you want through ladies size 13 (about men's 11 to 12, give or take brand): Shoes at Zappos.com - The Web's Most Popular Shoe Store! Our shoe store features dress shoes, casual shoes, and athletic shoes for men and women! Nordstrom.com – Shop From Over 500 Brands Payless ShoeSource - Women's Shoes, Men's Shoes, Children's Shoes, Sandals and Boots Womens Shoes, Mens Shoes, Prom Shoes, Merrell, Diesel, Clarks, Cole Haan - Free Shipping - 6PM.com ShoeMall - Free Shipping on Women's and Men's Brand Name Shoes Shoes - Free Shipping & Return Shipping - Mens Shoes, Womens Shoes has quite a few offerings in 12 and less, too. The rest of the "size 13" and above crowd are largely fetish shoe makes, with correspondingly "incredibly sexy" but not very practical wear for males in our society type offerings. You can occasionally find some good deals on eBay, but first check to ensure that the same shoe isn't available on Payless for half the price (some jerks buy cheap and jack the price). Any more questions? Just let me know.

HeelD Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 If you're a size 9 US, then head to the links that Dr1819 posted. You'll be spoilt for choice! Heel-D - Freestyling since 2005
Guest Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 well I'm lucky to have been blessed with a mens size 7-that is a WOMENS size 9,so I just look @ whatever I like to buy for my feet (boots or shoes that is) cause I know with very little difference that they ALWAYS fit! only difference being is my black womens REEBOK "princess" style I am now finding that if I get THEM in a WIDE, they fit a lot better with thick socks (these I wear for work in retail supermarket type of place)
DGMurdock Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 what woul my size be in womens shoes for mens slips on some time i have to wear a US size 8.5 for them to fit good
dr1819 Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I believe all of the links have a shoe size converter that equates sizes from all countries, as well as between men's and women's sizes. If not, click here.
DGMurdock Posted November 6, 2006 Author Posted November 6, 2006 dose any one have any suggestion on what shold one that whont look too girlish
DGMurdock Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 i like the 4" semi chunky heels for men but the famous 6.5 heels i ont really care for them
Aglo Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 My first pair of heels WERE intended for men - the famous Western Ranch 5-inchers! What a mistaken purchase that was! Huge clodhoppers - I think the price must have been per kg, because they certainly weighed and cost an awful lot, LOL. Didn't look good on, and too high for me. Since then I've been happy to choose from the womens' department where you can easily get discrete and elegant styles. Of course being a size 41 helps . . . By the way DGMurdock, I also share your lack of enthusiasm for the 6.5's. In-betweenie shoes, neither heels nor flats.
jmc Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 are there any good high heel clogs? You might try Victoria's Secrets http://www.victoriassecrets.com, they usually have some beauties, although their sizes seem to end at 11(US womens), sometimes 10. Zappos http://www.zappos.com is worth a look too. Or just go to Google (or Webcrawler or whatever), type in "high heel clog" and see what happens! If your wallet is a little flat, Payless has had a couple of nice ones lately (might have been last years' though). Have a happy time!
dr1819 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I normally don't like Payless' offerings (the right size, but usually chincy). However, a recent pair of cowboy-style boots caught my eye, and I've been wearing these around lately. 3-1/2 inch heel, but beneath a pair of low jeans, looks like a guy's boot. Ta-da!
seattleshoes Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 dr1819 - you wouldn't happen to have a link for those cowboy-style boots, would you?
dr1819 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I'm sorry, but the boots don't appear to be on the Payless site anymore, and I didn't copy a photo to my Photobucket album. Sorry.
