rubberheel Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Hi, I am new here. I'm a woman in my midforties and have loved high heels from early childhood. I prefer rather classic stiletto pumps or mules. Chunky heels leave me cold, and for some reason or another I don't think it's fun to wear platforms anymore. In short, I like my shoes to look like the shoes I had for my Barbie dolls in the 60's - elegant, sleek and ladylike. I have chosen my screen name to remind me of one of the less lucky high heeled episodes in my life. I was the passenger on a motorcycle, wearing a pair of knee high boots with a 7" heel (and a platform in front). When I left the bike, I discovered to my surprise that one of my heels had gone soft. Apparently my heel had been to close to something hot. Major faux pas...
rubberheel Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Oh - and I'm sorry my picture showed up so large. It's only 22k, so i had imagined it smaller. I also better tell that English is not my first language. Please, correct me, when I make mistakes.
Shafted Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Welcome, rubberheel. Sounds like you foot might have been too close to the exhaust pipe. Oh well better the shoe than your foot. rubberheel Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Hi, Shafted and thanks for the welcome! If anybody know how to diminish my picture, please enlighten me.
Shafted Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 What you would need to do is use an image editing program, and look for the option of resize or resample. Then you will need to upload the image to an imagehost for you to link to. To get more detailed requires knowing the specific program you are using to edit images. Shafted, the boots that is! Firefox Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Hi Welcome to the board. I sorted out your image for you as it was messing up the display. Have fun here
rubberheel Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 Thanks for the welcomes and thanks a lot for diminishing my picture! I'm a bit of a computet ignorant, and I had probably never figured out how to do it myself.
rubberheel Posted October 17, 2005 Author Posted October 17, 2005 I'm happy to have found this forum. I'm the only person in my environment who wear heels, so I'm really looking forward to have some fellow heel lovers - male and female - to chat with. The strange thing is that in my 44 year long life, I have only met ONE man who liked heels. The rest just thought I was silly. I'm positively surprised to see so many men here. Maybe I just live in the wrong place...
Dawn HH Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Rubberheel:-) Welcome to the HH Place Forum. It's good to have another girl start posting with all of the men here that are very interested in heels. Looking forward to some good conversations. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
rubberheel Posted October 27, 2005 Author Posted October 27, 2005 I have been unable to access this forum for several days. I'm so glad to be back!
Dawn HH Posted October 27, 2005 Posted October 27, 2005 Rubberheel:-) The board was down and none of us were able to access it. We are all glad to be back on. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
rubberheel Posted October 30, 2005 Author Posted October 30, 2005 I'm glad, I was not the only one locked out. How many posts does it take to get rid of the "comfy loafer"?

rubberheel Posted November 13, 2005 Author Posted November 13, 2005 I'm sorry my avatar is monstrous again. It had disappeared, and when I put it back, it came in this size. Could you please diminish it again?
bluetango Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Not too fast with down-sizing the image. I like it! Bluetango Bluetango So many shoes and only two feet.
Dawn HH Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Rubberheel:-) The Forum Mods may like your Avatar pic to be a lot smaller, but now that it is so large, I can now see what it is all about. Is that you in the pic? Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
BobHH Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I think that is a Helmut Newton photo. I've seen it before.
dr1819 Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 Oh - and I'm sorry my picture showed up so large. It's only 22k, so i had imagined it smaller. I also better tell that English is not my first language. Please, correct me, when I make mistakes. Hi, rubberheel - I like rubberheels too (quiet!). I like sleepy academic stuff, too. I've bored thousands with my ideas... Just ask anyone on this board. But I know my limits, at least when clanged on the backside of my head... Please write me. I'd love to know more about you.
Shafted Posted November 14, 2005 Posted November 14, 2005 I think that is a Helmut Newton photo. I've seen it before. It certainly displays his sense of humor with the woman in high heels with crutches being helped up by two guys. Shafted, the boots that is!
