New pair of boots starts me serious street heeling.

Well had a big crowd at the movie theatre tonight, and I caught a lot of people noticing my stiletto heels with rather curious expressions on there faces. But best of all was when I was doing the marquis tonight while on the step ladder, and two very attreactive women (despite their track suits and sneakers) walked by. As I came down from the ladder I looked back at them (yea I was checkin' them out) and was rather amused as they had stopped dead in their tracks with lovely smiles on their faces. I guess they were checking me out as well. It had to be the longest double take yet except for some guy who almost drove his motorcycle over the curb.

I had a pleasant surprise tonight at the theatre, which was by the way a typical night for high teenaged attendance. Something happened tonight that really wasn't what I expected. Many of the teenaged girls were eyeing my Two Lips stiletto boots with keen interest. Not gigling but showing signs of genuine curiousity. Upon leaving the theatre one of the teenaged girls commented "Nice boots" in a very genuine tone, to which I thanked her. I do believe that they sincerely like the image I was projecting with my "Bite me" T-shirt, Levis and high heeled boots. These girls seemed to like the idea of a guy thinking out of the box as far as what he wears. So watch out guys, there seems to be a new generation of open thinking young women in high school that could fuel a new acceptance of guys in heels if they they do it right, without being too outlandish.

Shafted:-) A new group of young girls in high school who are acceptable to the idea of us guys wearing heels in public? Now that is great news since we need all the positive help in furthering our cause that we can get. Cudos for pushing the envelope a bit on the marquee ladder, etc. Cheers--- Dawn HH

Well time for another update. Wednesday I went grocery shopping in my stiletto boots. An old woman came out of the store as I was headed toward the door. I thought the poor old woman was going to swallow her dentures while she was giving me a disapproving look. I merely smiled back. I really noticed people looking today, and saying nothing. I really don't think it's my perception. These people are making no attempt to hide that they are looking. I ran into a coworker from my day job in the store as well with his wife and daughter, and we exchanged greetings. All in all a pleasant afternoon of grocery shopping. The next day at work when I saw that particular coworker I asked, "Did you notice?" to which he replied "Oh yeah!" That evening was another marquis night at the movie theatre. While carrying out the letters and the stepladder I ran into another coworker on the sidewalk. An occasional heel wearer herself she said gesturing to my boots, "Getting up in the world arn't you?" to which I responded "Absolutely!". Her: How high are those? Me: (pulling up a pantleg to show the entire boots) 3 and half inches. Her: You remember those heels I wore to work a while back? Me: Oh yeah. Her: Well those were that high, and after eight hours I couldn't wait to get them off. Me: Was it bothering the balls of your feet the most. Her: Yes. Me: Next time try shifting your weight to the outside of your foot for awhile and then maybe to the inside while standing. That should take some of the pressure off the balls of your feet, and allow you to extend your wearing time. Her: Hey, Thanks! By the way, your not not going to climb that ladder in those are you? Me: Sure why not? Her: Isn't that kinda dangerous. Me: Actually unlike standing or walking, climbing a ladder is exactly the same as if I was wearing flat shoes. (as I start up the ladders) Her: Really?! Me: Bet you never thought you would be getting tips on wearing high heels from a guy did you? Her: Never in a million years.

Shafted:-) Excellent conversation between you and your co-worker at the theatre. She sounds like a progressive thinker and doesn't mind men wearing heels. Cheers--- Dawn HH

This thread is pretty much all of the highlights of my public life in heels so far. Without looking back to the beginning, the first step was into a small general store on the way to work for a sorely needed cup of coffee. I've only been street heeling for about a month now and after the first step there was no looking back. Once I realized how easy it was for myself, it was a thrilling experience. The real key for me was to find the right boots for street heeling. The heels that I had prior to street heeling were too fetishy for my initial outings although I can't rule out not wearing them out in the future.

Kneehighs:-) I like what you said and I also liked the remark that Shafted's co-worker made too. That was cool and would be something that I would come up with on the spur of the moment if in that same situation and knowing my sense of humor. I have used that same phrase here on the Forum in some of my earlier postings also. Cheers--- Dawn HH

Well I think it's about time for another pair of boots for street heeling. I think I'll be upping the anti a bit with these.

http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/6963104/c/23907.html

There about twice the price of my last pair, but can't live forever in the bargain basement can I.

These should go great with my beloved Levis 505's in black.

Hey Shafter, have you read the reviews for those boots that is posted just underneath the picture? "83% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe "Felt true to size" 86% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe "Felt true to width" 95% of Fit Survey respondents said this shoe had "No arch support" The one that caught my eye was the last one that says that almost all of the respondents said that the boots had no arch support -- which will make you sorry you bought them after just a little time wearing them.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Didn't catch that one Bubba, must have been heat of the moment, Thanks! I haven't ordered them yet as they currently don't have my size 11 in the blue they are going to e-mail me if my size becomes available. I don't usually fret too much about lack of arch support in a boot as it is way to easy to slip an arch support insole into it. Edited to add: I went back through the reviews and on 2 out of 46 reviewers said this shoe had no arch support just as many said it had excellect arch support. I think there is something wrong with zappos percentage calculator on this one.

Awesome looking boots, Shafted! My mouth waters just looking at 'em! A damn shame they don't come in 13 wide, or I'd order a pair myself, lack of arch support be damned! And yeah, they'd work perfectly with black jeans! By all means, keep us posted of what happens with those boots!

That must really bite JeffB, having a shoe size thats typically above what most stores carry, or even larger than a lot of shoe manufacturers make. Seems like size US11 is as large as most mainstream shoe stores go. I consider myself quite fortunate to be at an 11, although I too have seen a pair of boots that I really liked only to not have them in my size. BTW: Thanks for posting my boot selections on this thread.

That's been an ongoing source of frustration for years and years. It actually urts to wander through the shoe department of a store and see lots of gorgeous styles that I know I'll never be able to wear because they only go up to 11. That's why I'm extremely grateful for the Internet which allowed me to find great shoes in my size.

As for the mainstream shoe stores and the like, I can't blame manufacturers for cutting off sizes at 11, they have to satisfy the majority in order to make a profit, and VERY women go beyond 11. That doesn't ease the frustration I feel, but I can understand the reasoning.

Well I'm not holding my breath on being able to get those navy blue croc RSVP boots from zappos as their inventory is dwindling. So, it's time to move on. I think I saw these in someone's avatar and I always liked them so I said why the hell not.

I have a pair coming from All Sexy shoes via Amazon. They are from the "Highest Heel".

I think I'm in love.

I think that these were definitly made to be seen. It would be a shame to hide them under jeans.

Hmm! Very attractive boots indeed, Shafted! I checked out the link and saw that they go up size 13, but no mention was made about width. If it's wide, I can manage, if not, then I'd need the next size up which isn't available. Oh, and I agree that boots like those with that dazzling embroidery should be worn with jeans tucked in!

Shafted, I have this very boot which I do enjoy. I'll bet you will also. Unfortunatley the shaft is quite narrow which won't allow me to tuck in jeans. Let me know what you think of them after they arrive.. JeffB, The boot is a bit narrow so I doubt a 13 would work out. The size 13 I have is a bit snug and 13m is what I usually wear. Jim

Thanks Jimnj3, So it was you that had those gorgeous boots in your avatar. That's actually where I first saw them, and then I stumbled upon them again at Amazon. I just couldn't resist and the price was right.

Just came up with a great idea for showing off those red embroidered boots, because I'll likely be unable to tuck them into my jeans. I'll take a pair of my jeans and slit the side seams up to just below my knee and rehem them. This should give people occasional flashes of that red embroidery.

Wow, shafted, you've really come a long way in just three or four days!

I detect a definite and significant change in your attitude once you've discovered how easy and harmless it is to wear heels out and about.

Hey guys, it's easy.....go for it!!!!!

Congratulations, shafted. :bday:

I don't think ones attitude can't change after wearing heels in public. My general attitude before public wearing was "I'm going to do it." Now that it's done and behind me, I can't get enough of street heeling. It was very liberating. Personally I enjoy the occasional odd looks from people regarding my footwear. But the side effect has been the realization that I need more heels or I'll wear the ones I have out very quickly. I can live with that as stylish womens footwear is vastly more inexpensive than stylish mens footwear.

I agree with Dawn! A most clever idea! I've seen young women sporting jeans and pants slit up the side. That would be a most unique way of showing off those boots! I hope you'll take a picture so we can all see the finished product!

There here! These boots are gorgeuos in person. When trying them on they were actually a tad too large, and I found them lacking in arch support. A Dr. Schols arch support insole and it fixed both problems extremly well. I was able to tuck my jeans into them, but found they bunched up too much around my knees (not a good look). I'm definitely going to be sacrificing a pair of jean to the high heel god and slit the side seams. The real downside is that they are all manmade materials so they don't breathe at all. Gonna have to wait for fall before I do any serious street heeling in them as they are way too hot for summer. The fit around my bare calves is nothing short of sensational. Pics to come once I modify a pair of jeans.
