JeffB Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 A conversation I had with a co-worker today prompted this topic. For the last several days, the temparatures here have been in the mid to high 80's, factor in the humidity and it's been less than pleasant. Well, one of the many co-workers at our facility who knows I wear hosiery asked if I was hot wearing pantyhose. I shrugged and told her I wasn't, and it was the truth. I don't feel dressed if I'm not wearing pantyhose, and kneehighs just doesn't do it for me. I told her that during spring and summer, I wear the sheerest hose possible so my legs don't sweat during the course of the day. She chuckled and admired my devotion to fashion. Winter, spring, summer and fall, I'll always be wearing hosiery! What about you? Can you stand the summer heat while wearing pantyhose? Inquring minds want to know! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
hoverfly Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Yes inquiring minds what to know, but I would say it a given that fish nets would not be a problem!!! Hello, my name is Hoverfly. I’m a high heel addict…. Weeeeeeeeeee! 👠1998 to 2022!
JeffB Posted June 8, 2005 Author Posted June 8, 2005 You know, I've never worn fishnets before! I must admit it does sound intriguing! Perhaps I'll give it a try sometime! Heh! I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
Bubba136 Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 The summers anywhere up and down the east coast of the United States can be brutal from heat and humidity...especially from Baltimore southward -- the further south you go, the worse they seem to be. Here in the Charleston, Hilton Head, Savannah area, the heat and humidity is really repressive, tropical in nature, form June through the end of September. Really not the weather for stocking, pantyhose or other heat retentive clothing. That's why you will find me (and almost everyone else around here) wearing T-shirts, shorts and sandals or slides and showering at least twice a day...... I love it though! (Think Jimmy Buffet - and a tall, salty, cold, margareta on my back deck in the evening, looking eastward over the calm, blue atlantic ocean towards all you people in the UK stuck in rush hour traffic  ) Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Shafted Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 Hosiery manufacturers say that in hot weather a hose covered leg will actually be cooler as the hose tends to hasten evaporation of persperation. Bubba136 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 and a wool snowsuit will insulate you from the extreme rays of the sun, too. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Shafted Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 Couldn't help but laugh my ass off at your response Bubba. You crack me up sometimes but I swear I heard them claim that. But then again they're in the business of selling the stuff. Shafted, the boots that is! sscotty727 Posted June 9, 2005 Posted June 9, 2005 I like both the look and the feel of bare feet in heels. I think there is something sexy about it. Scotty
