I told my girlfriend today about me liking to wear high heels .She told me it was cool that I liked to wear high heels.I showed her my new 5` heels. She said It was so cool that I would wear such a high heel. She said it takes alot talent to walk along time in those heels.I told her I can walk alittle in them.So I asked her if she wanted a contest to see who could walk the longest in5`heels.She laughed and said I wouldn`t last a block in them and said your on.She got one of her 5` heels. We both went outside and walked.I was go scared because so many people were outside.I live in Calgary and the Flames just won the hockey game today.I was alittle more brave today because my girlfriend was with me.We were both in 5`heels.This was a dream come true.We continued to walk half an hour.I could barely walk we were so far and we had to walk home.So we started back home. on the way back home we both got a few whisles.I think people thought I was a girl.It was dark outside and I was wearing purple knee high spandex pants with 5`heels.My feet were so sore and could barely walk by the time we got home.I told my girlfriend that she won.She smiled and said she could of gone all night. She was impresed That I lasted 1 hour and she gave me a kiss. This was so much fun.

Great adventure!! I saw your outfit in the other post (http://65.160.96.70/hhplace/images/1085860672.jpg) and it looks great. With more practice you will be able to enjoy the walks without the discomfort. You might also try a 4” heel for a while.

Consider trying the same thing in leather thigh boots. I think it would look great (but my bias is showing). Who knows, your girlfriend may even like a pair. The thigh boots may actually attract less attention than the courts with your the exposed leg (the eye is attracted by contrast).

Again, Great adventure.

I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.

Great story. Great girlfriend. Don't lose her. It's not every girl/woman that has her attitude towards wearing heels, yet alone, wearing them in public. Well done.

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

May I add my Adventure here?

Yesterday was my Birthday, and my lady friend wanted to take me to dinner at Harrahs Casino in Atlantic City for dinner and some gambling.

What a great time to wear my new boots. We spent about 4 hours total in the Casino. First in the restaurant and then walking around the casino floor. We played a few slots, and sat among many people. We had a great time and enjoyed wearing my boots in a very public place. We also stopped at a convience store on the way home.

The boots are from Jean Gaborit, size 45 with a 4" heel. They are all leather with a soft leather lining. They come to just below my kneecap and are very comfortable.

Thanks for that report, Gary! A great pair of boots for street-heeling! A high and slim enough heel to give a great feeling of adventure and sexy liberation, whilst still being in excellent taste (no outrageous platforms, clear plastic, orange glitter etc., all of which I loathe). I hope you have many more enjoyable adventures in those. Well done! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan

Onwards and upwards!

Heelfan and Loveheel, Thank you for the kind responses. I too prefer non-platform boots that are of the basic or plain design. I have several pair similar to these. I will have to get some more pics and post them. I do wear my heels outside often. Most shopping, grocery stores, departments stores, even Home Depot, is done in heels. The shortest heels I have are 3.5" and the tallest, for street heeling, are 5 inches.

Way cool boots, Gary!

I checked out the manufacturer's (Jean Gaborit) website, and it looks like most, perhaps all of their boots are available up to size 45.

The variety and selection is stellar - they have a lot of different designs from ankle, knee, and thigh, heels low, medium, and high, block heel to stiletto, round toe, square toe, and pointy toe.

Here's the website: http://jean-gaborit.biz/index.htm

And if that weren't enough, here's another, way cool thing that's long, long overdue in the shoe industry: Deailed custom measurements. Looks like Jean Gaborit read a few posts on this subject here on HH Meeting Place!

Here're the measurements you get to provide:

A - The length (size) of your boot

This should be carefully measured with your heel against a wall and a ruler or box placed against the toes. You then measure the distance between the wall and the ruler or box. A size of 37 corresponds to the appoximate foot length of 23-24 cm.(correspondence size-length )

B - Measurement around the instep

This should be made with a tailors fibre tape measure and not too tighly drawn around the foot.

C - Measurement around the ankle

D - Measurement aroung the widest part of the calf

E - Measurement around the leg at the height of the top of the chosen boot style , i.e. for the knee boot take the measurement at F, a thigh length at point G

F - The measurement around the leg over the knee (only in the case of knee boots )

G - The measurement around the thigh (only in the case of thigh boots)

H - The height of the uppers

Z- The measurement around the toes

Costs a bit extra, but getting a pair of shoes you know will fit you is worth it.

They even have a picture which shows you precisely where to measure:

It just doesn't get any better than this, friends!

Oh - and did I mention you can get any boot in a wide variety of leathers, smooth (9 colors), suede (4 colors), and varnished (4 colors).

I just purchased two pair, the Cancan:

...and the Roma:

Man - this is ONE COOL COMPANY! I say all boot-lovers give the rest of the industry a wake-up call on how to do things right by giving Jean Gaborit their exclusive business for a while!

I know this sounds like a paid advertisement, but it's not - I'm just a happy customer who can't wait to receive his order!

Gary, those are great boots. Casinos are a great place to wear heels. People seem to be pretty focused on other stuff in casinos

As one who's in and out of casinos all day (sometimes all night) long, I can attest to this, although I don't wear heels on the job because some of my clientelle may not understand, and in this town, image means a lot.

A few nights ago I finished a short project for one client and headed for a restaurant I'd never tried before: Bella Luna (Italian). My ankle was killing me, so I shucked my loafers in the car and zipped on my boots (pictured to the left) before calling my wife to meet me at the restaurant.

It was the first time in a while anyone paid any attention to my wearing heels in public. In fact, it was so noticeable, it was uncomfortable, as the hostess tittered and a few of the patrons whispered and pointed.

Then, it hit me - every time I've gone out in heels it's almost always been to a casino, even if I'm just going to a movie.

At the restaurant, I was at a place where families take their kids, probably in or near their neighborhood. Part of the indifference in the casinos, however, is due to the fact that most people at the casinos are from out of town. The rest is due to this town's shady history. In short, most people coming to Vegas expect raciness, they expect to see things that are different, and when they do, it's no big deal. But at a quiet little restaurant far away from the strip, the attitudes are a little different, and I felt a lot like I did when I visited St. Louis and toured the arch in heels - lots of stares there, too.
