bubaheels Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 finally, i've worked out how to upload a pic (should have read the instructions!)
Heelfan Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 This new member "Bubaheels" might be our old friend "Streetheels" because the site he is promoting on this photo http://www.ladiesinheels.com is a rehash of Streetheels' long-established site http://www.streetheels.co.uk/ Of course, the other possibility in that Bubaheels is another person entirely who has unscrupulously copied all of Streetheels' photos and re-published them as his own. The unfortunate difference between the two sites is that Streetheels' has always been a free and open site, whereas we find that Bubaheels site (advertised above) offers the same photos (plus maybe a few more?) as a pay-site. Streetheels' site started-off in the most excellent way - one of the best heely streetshot sites on the entire net, but Streetheels appeared to lose interest in it and let it lie untended with all our messages unanswered since September 2003, and so it has remained to this day. One of the greatest heely shames of our time! Could Streetheels please clarify whether he has re-incarnated himself as Bubaheels+paysite, or whether bubaheels is an opportunist internet pic-pirate? Cheerfully yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards!
Firefox Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I noticed that some of the pics appeared to be copies from the streetheels site too.
Robert Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I noticed that some of the pics appeared to be copies from the streetheels site too. ......even the guest pictures Boots, fascinating footwear http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/Boots_1956/
bubaheels Posted April 11, 2004 Author Posted April 11, 2004 Hello all Might be worth you checking out the streetheels guest book - streetheels has posted a reply to heelfan's warning of piracy... bubaheels
Tom-NL Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 For the convenience of the readers, I have copied the mentioned parts from the Streetheels' guestbook. First Heelfans entry: "Sent: 10.18 - 9/4 Streetheels - are you aware that someone calling himself "Bubaheels" is advertising a pay-site using all of you Streetheels pictures that we have come to know and cherish? - see "High Heel Meeting Place" under "Your favourite pictures". If "Bubaheels" is an internet-pic pirate who has set up http://www.ladiesinheels.com stealing your shots for his own financial gain, then this is reprehensible! If on the other hand, "Bubaheels" is actually you turning this long-standing free site of yours into a pay-site, then can I suggest that you remove the uncertainty by telling us, and also by replying to all of our long-ignored feedback on this site before getting too involved in the new site? I wish you well, but attempts to convert existing free-sites into pay-sites usually seem to end up with only a very tiny minority signing-up. I'm sure all the other enthusiasts who have posted-in feedback will join me in hoping that you will sustain this free Streetheel site and (please, please!) will expand it! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan" To which the webmaster replied: "Name: streetheels Sent: 11.45 - 11/4 Hi Heelfan, Thanks for letting me know about bubaheels but I've given authoristation to use the pics. The streetheels site as you know it will be going as I can't maintain the site. So I'm passing it on to another to carry it on as they see fit. I'll still contribute the images when I can but aside from that I'll have no real involvement. At some point this week the coding on the streetheels site will be change to a re-direct and the content will be taken down. It will be made available on the site it's re-directed to that will also contain many more images. In a way this is a good thing as the main gripe about streetheels is that it's had no update in many months and I don't really have the time to keep it going. I have every confidence in bubaheels and think the site will be of much better quality than streetheels. Streetheels"
Richy Posted April 11, 2004 Posted April 11, 2004 Has any one else got a problem with the fact that this website is charging a fairly hefty subscription for portraying images of people, when the person running the site hasn't even got permission of, or taken the photos with the knowledge of, the people appearing on the site. I've no problems when someone set's up a pay website using models who receive a fair rate. This however, appears to be using images which he does not have the models permission to use, for his own financial gain. That seems to be highly immoral. PS. Regardless what you claim on the front page, if your're charging a subscription, therefore, it is a commercial site.
bubaheels Posted April 11, 2004 Author Posted April 11, 2004 I've agreed to take on the running and development of the streetheels sites because, as many has said (and to my own agreement), this was a truly excellent site. When streetheels didnt have time to run the site any more, I thought it was a great shame - his pics were excellent. I have been in extensive comms with streetheels and we have come to a mutual agreement that I take over the new site under the new badge of www.ladiesinheels.com; with streetheels occasional contributions... Immoral? who cares. Isn't your ernest obsersavations of women wearing heels walking down the street immoral? this kind of thing isnt immoral, its something to be admired and appreciated and if you dont like it you dont have to join but you'll be missing out! I update the site every week and its not a hefty fee... the price for a subscription merely helps to buy a train ticket to London and wherever I visit to obtain this pics, in all honesty, this is not a money making scheme. Take it or leave it.
Bubba136 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Bubaheels! Who cares about what you do with your site, anyway. I don't believe you're being disingenuous -- just stupid to believe you are offering us something we can't live without and that you can con any of the contributors here into joining. We really have a sharp bunch here. So, don't hold your breath until I (we) subscribe. Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.
Guest Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 interesting site... i'd say that $14 per month is quite a lot though. does anyone know of any other street heels type sites? this is the first i've seen and i like it
Heelfan Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Hello bobsmith and everyone! Street shots are by far my favourite way of admiring ladies in high heels. Have a current look at "For Everybody" above. I've brought the "STREETSHOTS" thread to the top for you. Here's a copy of my posting therein: OK - these Street-heel sites are all worth a regular look-in: http://www.streetheels.co.uk/ British - the Guest Gallery is best! http://digidigix.ktplan.ne.jp/walkroad/ Japanese, changing 'Today' photo http://www.renge.sakura.ne.jp/~lmc/pho.htm Another Japanese. http://home.interlink.or.jp/~coza/ Similar. http://www.106.sakura.nejp/~bootsandlegs/menu.htm Another excellent Japanese. http://www.bbcd.de/ German street-boots - mostly low heels though. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HeelsinPublic/ New British site. http://www.usedshoes.ch German ALL types (heels, flats, trainers etc.). I've also come across other street-heel sites from the US, Germany etc., but I'll have to have another surf around the Net to re-discover those for you. Happy heel-viewing! Cheerfully Yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards!
Firefox Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Good luck with the new streetheels site. I don't see anything wrong with charging for content but it helps if you have a large free content as well. Laurie and I resurrected Jennys page on a dedicated server and we had a small paid content section to help pay for the hosting. The web-hosting and domain name etc costs us about £115 a year, but other expenses, cameras, software, time, internet connection etc all adds to that. So, in the end, although the Jenny website had a big following, we've just enough to keep on going paying for the hosting and we also had some generous initial donations to help as well. In short, the streets of the net are not paved with gold, so I wish you luck. Like you say, it's unlikely to be a big money maker.
Guest Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 thanks for the links heel fan... some great sites... looks like the japanese ladies have a great taste in heels... either that or there's more street shots photos from the japanese men? while browsing around i found hte following site to recommend for those that love legs and boots (mostly sexy heels!) here's a sample: here's the link: http://www106.sakura.ne.jp/~bootsandlegs/menu.htm TIP: start with the high numbered galleries first as the first ones don't seem to have large picture links. ALSO - there's some street MOVIE clips, e.g. try the following: http://www106.sakura.ne.jp/~bootsandlegs/bootsandlegsmovie16.avi recommended! enjoy!
Robert Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 I like this one very much. It's from the German BBCD Boots Page http://www.bbcd.de/ Boots, fascinating footwear http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i103/Boots_1956/
bubaheels Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 firefox First of all, thank you for your supporting comments. You are absolutely right, it can get expensive running this. It seems general consensus that $14.95 may be a bit unfair so it may be lowered over the weekend. I have a new batch of 40 odd pics awaiting to go on the site; they're quite good ones too. Have a good weekend all...
Firefox Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I think $14.95 per month is a lot for a non porn special interest site. The reason you can charge more for porn sites is your costs are greater in terms of hosting, traffic, billing, material etc. But, the demand is also greater because some people need to get their boots filled and will pay anything, within reason, for a good site. For a non pon site you are looking at more magazine type rates. I think $3-7 a month is more than enough. However, the real crux is in the demand. If you are getting enough sign ups at $14.95, there's no reason to change.
bubaheels Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 Hi (firefox), I've dropped the price to $9.95 - I think thats much better... it's about £5.50 at the current exchange rate. For currency conversions I always use this site, its pretty good: http://www.xe.com/ucc I think you are absolutely right, I had never considered this a 'magazine' type thing, it is much better to price it at magazine price. It is rather specialised also. Cheers
bubaheels Posted April 17, 2004 Author Posted April 17, 2004 what do you think of this one? http://65.160.96.70/hhplace/images/1082227714.jpg
Firefox Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 Good luck with the new rate! You have a nice shot there of the shoes, but if I was really honest I'd say I hate the cut-off pics. Life is about people, not shoes, and I personally like to see the whole person, even if the face is not shown. Just full length shots of girls enjoying street life, their outfits and the shoes, eg or It's personal choice, I suppose. I'd be interested to hear what other people like to see.
Paul (North-East) Posted April 17, 2004 Posted April 17, 2004 I have to agree Firefox, It's deffinitely better to see the whole person rather than just the knees downwards. In such photos I always find myself wondering what the wearer looks like. Paul.
DeSalto Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Firefox: Ladies walking and wearing metal stilettos pumps and boots: One of the best street-heels shots I've ever seen. Full bodies are really best! No shoe is better than a sexy pair of stilettos!
6inchspikes Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Firefox, Those 2 shots are great - fantastic metal spiked stilettos just visible under the trousers. I wonder if the wearers know what effect they have on us men? 6inchspikes
Guest Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 wow wow and wow... thanks for those fantastic street shots firefox... again some of the best street shots i've ever seen. are these your own photos firefox? or are they from bubba's street heels site? now tell me, what is fantastic place wear the ladies wear such great shoes walking round town? i'll have to go on a trip! good work, show us more!
Heelfan Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 Places to see girls street-heeling in far greater numbers are: LIVERPOOL STREET STATION, LONDON from 4.30pm to 6pm on any weekday. It is the closest large commuter station to the city finance businesses, and all the smart heel-clad secretaries converge on the station in their thousands at "home time". Firefox and I have taken some street-shots there, which we will post on one or the other of the forums in due course. THE NIGHTLIFE AREA OF ANY BIG CITY On Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm to 3am. The girl pubbers and clubbers tend to wear the best and highest heels to the pubs between 8pm and chucking-out time at 11.15. followed by criss-crossing the area from the pubs to the night-clubs where they re-emerge and criss-cross to catch their taxis from about midnight until 3am. I posted a similar message to a member from Somerset, telling him to come up to the Hippodrome area of Bristol one Friday or Saturday evening. He posted backafterwards to say that he had seen more great high heels in one hour than he had seen in his village in Somerset in an entire year! Happy heel-sighting! Cheerfully yours, Heelfan Onwards and upwards!
Firefox Posted April 18, 2004 Posted April 18, 2004 I did take the shots posted. They were from the South East UK, intended to illustrate the variety of heeled fashion outfits on the streets in Autumn 2003. Thanks for the compliments. There are many more on the members section of Jenny's reincarnated site.
stellah Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 I did some candid shots of really nice women wearing stilettto heels inside a sportshall: _______________ HH forever!
Guest Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 firefox - thanks for the location tips, i'll have to check out LiverpoolSt some time. Is this also your place for comuting to and from work? South east eh? I'm guessing Essex or Kent - am I right? Can you give us some tips on street photo taking? Did you literrally point the camera at these lovely ladies and shoot? Or have you a better more candid solution? Stellah - nice pictures! Thanks for sharing. And they let people where heels in the sports hall? Doesn't that damage the floor? Is it just me or does anyone else get a bit of a kick out of seeing a damaged wooden floor in a pub/bar with lots of 'dimples' in it - in other words the marks from sexy stilettos that have been worn there. Is it ony me that's noticed this?
Paul (North-East) Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Nice shots Stellah. I'm surprised they got away with wearing stilettos in a sports hall and weren't asked to remove them. Thanks, Paul.
