Yes, no doubt a lot of it is so, but one should judge by the best.  This, for instance, is a thoughtful piece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOMhN-hfMtY  It speaks of a reality, as doubtless does other rap.  We might not like it, but grim art forms come from grim existence.  The proper response is to feel thankful that we have no cause to feel that anger.

I would say that the proper response here, in terms of this thread and its subject line, would be to acknowledge that the entire genre of rap is worse - considerably! - than Unchained Melody!

No, I think by those criteria you should only judge specific examples against specific example.  By all means leave a link.

There's no link to an entire genre, but I think it is fair to say that any piece of rap "music" is considerably more unpleasant to hear than Unchained Melody
