ShoeDre Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I normally don't buy any footwear without first trying out the fit. I do struggle to find anything I can fit into, but I'm kind of right on the edge of what's available in shops. When it comes to boots, this has not been doable. In looking for knee high, 5+ inch stiletto heeled, genuine leather boots that fit snuggly around the calves, my choices seem to be limited. When you add that I really don't want to spend too much, the only option I've seen that fits my requirements is the Domina 2020 by Pleaser. Can anyone here tell me about the sizing, toebox size, leather quality, or any other details that might be helpful. Thanks a bunch... Never argue with an idiot. bionicbabe Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 I ordered some on Amazon, hopefully they will get here this week. I'm wondering the same thing!
hhboots Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 I have owned a few pairs from the Pleaser Domina line in the past, and still own a pair of PU/matte Domina 2000 boots (same as 2020's but without laces). They are around 6" heels with absolutely no platform. They are a challenge to walk in at first. I've never worn them outside the house as they're just too extreme for that, but not bad for strutting around the house... I typically can only wear them for a couple of hours max before my feet and ankles get sore (even after years of practice), but I believe its just the nature of wearing such extreme heels. As for sizing, every pair I have gotten are a bit on the narrow side, I wear a us10 and while buying that size did fit ok, they took a while to stretch enough in width to be comfortable. They fit fine after a few times being worn. If you have wider feet or are between sizes, you probably want to size up, if possible. As for the leg portion, I have relatively thin legs and the Domina 2000 boots I have (again, no laces), are snug around my calf but do stretch a bit. Since the 2020's do have laces, they should fit almost anyone. I did not realize the 2020's came in a real leather option (that appears to be a relatively newer offering). None of my past Domina boots were leather, all were PU and did not last more than a year, so I assume the real leather ones will last much longer. I recommend them regardless, they are quite fun and very sexy. Good luck and enjoy!
ShoeDre Posted March 18, 2014 Author Posted March 18, 2014 Thanks for the feedback. I'm not too worried about the high of the heels, although 6inch is about my max. My biggest worry is that they have a thin toebox. Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
hhboots Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Yes, the toe box is indeed a bit narrow, and unfortunately, they don't offer width options and they don't even offer half sizes. My guess is that expect that most of the shoes/boots they make are not really intended for serious full day comfort wear... so for that reason, they don't bother with the half sizes and varying width options, but who knows... Anyway, so if the width is going to be a concern to you, for sure, go up a size and you should be fine.
geot Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I had a pair of the "patent" PU Domina 2020's in size 13. It took a few wearings for the toe box to mold to my foot, then comfort wasn't a real problem; I often wore then for 5-6 hours of mixed sit/stand/walk at time with minimal discomfort. I had two slight issues - I have a high instep so the lacing tended to be wider just below the ankle and wasn't even up the shaft, and they were somewhat "tippy"... it would have been very easy to tip forward when standing still. Having said that, I pretty spent so much time in tham I wore through the sole, but they still looked good. Having had a couple of pairs of Domina heels, in a size 13 they come out at about 5.75"; not quite the fully advertised 6", but in someways better than Ellie's "six inch" coming in at an almost impossible (and not suitable for public wear) 7". The bottom line... I'm saving up for a pair of Leather Domina 2020's now.

Chorlini Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Personally I quite like the Domina 2020 boots. I have a pair in matt imitation leather, they were my first pair of high heel boots and they are still my favorites. I have gotten others which are of better quality, or higher heels, but I find the Domina 2020 to be more comfortable for longer wear. It might be hit and miss though, as I also have another pair of them in imitation patent and I never found them to be as comfortable. They might run a bit narrow though. Its hard to tell though these days as I lost a lot of weight and I think I went down a shoesize in the process.
Rockpup Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Skyscrapers: gotta admit, I have held off on my review of the boots I got from you till they broke in, but the Domina line was, and still is, more comfortable for my toes then the boots I got from you. (formerly known as "JimC")
bionicbabe Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 I love my 2020 boots, so comfortable, easy to walk in. Have to wonder would these 6inches in a size 13 be similar angle to a female size 5-6 in a 4 inch heels?
bionicbabe Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I wore mine today with my female friend, walked a good half km to the coffee place, found by the last 100 ft me feet were forgetting how to walk in the boots and if I wasn't careful my food would bend at the toes even more. After sitting for an hour then felt better but when back to acting weird, is this normal for getting use to extreme heels, or was it the un even sidewalks that had a little bit of a angle to them?
