Curt
Are they too funky and weird looking? I have a huge fetish for the womens shoes. The mens shoes are just plain ugly!

ilikekicks
The pros and cons I have seen ( my perspective ): Pros: -Its a semi-local company to myself. ( Canada ). -They are honest about where their products are made and have dedicated a spot on their webpage stating where each line of shoes are made ( http://www.fluevog.com/files_2/help.html ) -They are ' different ' as they dont look like much of the popular ' hooker ' type platforms nor are they anything like the ' classic, bland looking, stiletto '. Cons ( for me ) : -To start, Pricing. I understand quality footware can cost a few dollars, but for the prices, I'll go elsewhere. -' Cosplay ' or ' Anime ' looks to be a huge influence to me. I can see younger people wearing these, but its a very limited crowd. -NONE of the materials or anything have any relation to what I do or where I live so interest is slim to none ( as with 99% of everything I buy. NOTHING is made in the U.S. anymore ). Would I ever buy a pair? Not the ones from their website. If a pair were given to me would I wear them? Maybe? I had never heard of them before your mentioning them and dont have any real references to fit, comfort, durability.. I COULD go out and research them or look for them locally but they arent enticing enough for me to dedicate the time to such. You asked ' are they too funky and weird looking? '.. Think about this : Your reading on a site where there are some men whom love and buy shoes the current generation of porn stars and strippers wear! Funky? Weird? Depends on whos perspective your looking from To each their own.. Cheers! -Ilk REPEATEDLY ARGUMENTATIVE, INSULTING AND RUDE. BANNED FOR LIFE. Heelster
Funky? Weird? In some ways - yes. Went glancing around the web site and nothing jumped out at me as something I would wear myself. ILK mentioned an Anime look, and I think he may have hit on something there.. Even though he may be from Canada, it's not a brand I am likely to see around these parts, and therefore not likely to ever get a close-up look at. The prices are also a definite down side for me. I tend to shop the closeouts and clearance racks.
Curt
I admit, they are very expensive, but the quality is amazing! I have 4 pairs! I would have more if they weren't so expensive. I find that most of the womens shoes could pass as unisex. The mens shoes all look alike. No different from any other store. I like the shoes because they are unique. I like them because of the funky style. I have a love of 70s fashion. Not the crazy disco era, but the early 70s, before it got too crazy. It must have been cool for guys and girls to dress alike. Heels and flares. Not dresses and skirts, its not my thing. In getting offtopic. One word of advise: if you want fluevogs, ist better to go to the store than to purchase online. Every shoe size is a bit different. I take a 10 in some, and an 11 in others. I plan to buy more shoes if a can afford it!
