barney15c
Anne Hathaway plays Catwoman in the new Batman film "The Dark Knight Rises". Here is an interesting article from the makers of the boots "Theatrical Shoemakers" on how they made them plus the various models for the stunt doubles. http://botterman-empire.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/dark-knight-rises.html In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king!!! Malc
Good find! Although it does spoil the fantasy that a superheroine can do all these things in high heels.

barney15c
Its worth reading through this ladies (Emily Botterman) blog, She makes her own shoes and does commissions for her friends, there are some step by step photos of the processes she goes through to make them. Interesting blog if you are into shoe design too. Her latest entry about a commision from artist Jennifer Anyan is particulary noteworthy. HHeeler
Related. But barely. Does speak to movie "magic" and heels though. In the film Iron Man 2 Gwyneth Paltrow is wearing fairy tall stilettos through out. There is a scene where she walks down the stairs of his lab and turns to walk across screen to go speak face to face with Robert Downey, Jr. There are tables and equipment which are blocking the bottom half of her legs, except one tiny gap where you can see they switched her into flats. barney15c
oh yes lots of examples where heels changed for flats in action scenes, some of them done very poorly indeed!!! In numerous cases shoes don't look remotely like each other. Here is an example although they are pointed and pink: The almost flat boot at 0:13 is used in a stunt in place of the pink high heeled boots Sarah Michelle Geller wears throughout the entirety of the Scooby Doo 2 film. http://www.youtube.c...?v=vBdhxtaqYpo. According to IMDB, she's half an inch taller than he is, I suspect that the flat shoes were so that she wouldn't tower over him.
Steve63130
That's stupid. Why didn't they put him in heels? LOL Steve
