Spurs are not actually cruel, at least not the ones I use. It has always been an ambition to ride a horse in heels but unfortunately it isn't the done thing at the riding school so it's strictly regulation riding boots. I might propose getting my 4" heel cowboy boots out though! lol

Riding Boots have their place. But when your horse recognizes and reacts to a pair of thigh boots it adds so much to the experience. I tried riding in a pair of Pleaser 3010 thigh boots today, my mare seemed to recognize and like the smoothness of them. She responded beautifully. I ride alone.
