Bria Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 OK guys/girls How many pairs is too many. Ive lost count but I think im at about 60 pairs. ranging from pumps to thigh boots to maryjanes to Mules..... with more on the way.... got the sexiest pair of Kenneth cole boots off Ebay... I cant wait to try them on when I get them.....
Laurieheels Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 The only way you could have too many pairs is if you run out of places to store your heels. But if you keep freeing up new storage, then the limit of too many is way up there.
High Surprise Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 When your bank manager calls you in to recommend you cut your outgoings is when you need to think twice about those new heels
Keli Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 Ther's no such thing as too many pairs of heels!! (200+ pairs and counting) Any day that you don't learn something new is a day wasted.
jo Posted October 18, 2003 Posted October 18, 2003 Umm, I stopped counting at 50 pairs, several years ago.
JeffB Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 Well, to tell you all the truth, I only have a dozen pairs of shoes, and four pairs of boots. 13 wide isn't universally easy to find, and besides, I've always been a believer in quality over quantity! :-D I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman!
genebujold Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I only own five, so... For me, that's plenty of variation in style and comfort to meet my needs (two pairs for home, two for the two seasons we have here in Vegas, and a fifth perfect for Spring and Fall and just to round out the styles).
Suzyheels Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 I really have not counted for a while. I just get this irrestistable urge to browsw around shoe shops. No winter is approaching I will need new boots What IS a girl to do? Suzy Love seeketh not itself to please, Nor for itself hath any care; But for another gives its ease, And builds a Heaven in Hell's despair.
Laurieheels Posted October 19, 2003 Posted October 19, 2003 In my experience, a girl is to suffer, having to pick one pair, but wishing to buy like, oh, ten. Such is a girl's life, I suppose...
verngentleheels Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 There is no such thing as too many! Our obsession is in the head, not the closet!
cinthy Posted November 6, 2003 Posted November 6, 2003 I wouldn't say immelda marcos had too many shoes. In my calculation if you have over 44530 shoes that would be too many. Because that would mean wearing more than 2 different pairs of shoes each day for the next 61 years, I mean I would have to break in new shoes more than twice a day for the next 61 years. That would indeed be too much.
High Surprise Posted November 7, 2003 Posted November 7, 2003 Cinthy - What's wrong with 2 pairs every day over 61 years? Sounds good to me I wouldn't say immelda marcos had too many shoes. Ionic Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 I first thought 'oxymoron' when I first saw this topic, how could there possibly be 'too many'? But Cinthy's point about having 44530 pairs was highly salutory. Imagine having to trying to break in a handful of pairs every week! argggh, it is supposed to be pleasure not torture! I've quickly built up a nice collection of boots for use outdoors and the task of breaking in, stretching, etc. one or two dozen pairs is challenging enough let alone hundreds or thousands! /I /I
PJ Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 I remember watching a television show some years ago where a celebrity was asked how many shoes did she own. She replied that she could wear a different pair each day for three years before she would have to repeat. That comes out to almost 1100 pairs of shoes. click .... click .... click .... The sensual sound of stiletto heels on a hard surface.
Francis Posted December 13, 2003 Posted December 13, 2003 how many is too many? when you have to move house, build an extension or rent storage space to house your collection !!
Dr. Shoe Posted December 14, 2003 Posted December 14, 2003 Ruth and I have differing opinions on the subject, she says I have too many, I say I don't have enough! I have just had another of my famous clearouts and am rapidly filling up the resulting space. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
Betty Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 I would say any over 5000 pairs would be a bit extreme.
Betty Posted December 22, 2003 Posted December 22, 2003 When Imelda Marcos calls you up and asks to borrow a pair.

Slides 'n Heels Posted January 18, 2004 Posted January 18, 2004 When you have bought this "unique" pair of heels, and discover at home that you already got those in your closet...... love to watch them on cute girls, love to wear them myself
Anne_Louise Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 No limit - I should like to be able to change at least three times a day for the rest of my life!
shyguy Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 According to my wife, one pair is too many, my view is I'd never have too many He was so narrow minded he could see through a keyhole with both eyes. Brown's Law: If the shoe fits, it's ugly
stilettofan Posted March 8, 2004 Posted March 8, 2004 I agree with Anne Louise - you NEVER can have too many beautiful shoes. And just think of the nice kind of surprise if you happen to find a pair you've already forgotten about in your collection (which actually happened to me yesterday) High Heels - a true feelgood-factor for everyone
Anne_Louise Posted March 9, 2004 Posted March 9, 2004 Stilettofan, it happens to me quite often, particularly at the change of seasons. It's almost as good as buying a new pair - though NOTHING can quite equal that!
