Jeff Posted February 16, 2002 Posted February 16, 2002 Hey there, Sometimes I mess around with image editors a bit. Once in a while the result is actualy quite worth looking at. I guess there are more people that play around with pics now and then. You can share your art with us here. I've been playing a bit the last hour or so, and this was the result. Not worth a prize, but it's a start. Greetz, Jeff --- "She's going shopping, shopping for shoe-oe-oe-oes She wants them in magenta and Caribbean blue-ue-ue-ue" - Imelda, Mark Knopfler
Jeff Posted February 17, 2002 Author Posted February 17, 2002 Nope, It was The Gimp.. Greetz, Jeff --- "She's going shopping, shopping for shoe-oe-oe-oes She wants them in magenta and Caribbean blue-ue-ue-ue" - Imelda, Mark Knopfler
Firefox Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Nice image Jeff. I use PSP 6, and I'm still getting to grips with it. It's very good software, and I might try something artistic like you did. I've never done that sort of thing before
ShockQueen Posted March 31, 2002 Posted March 31, 2002 I like Photoshop 6 better for that type of work as it has more filters you can get for it, and therefore has more effects. SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
PostCode Posted April 17, 2002 Posted April 17, 2002 Here are a few of mine. granted, they aren't all that remarkable but I enjoy making them anyway. Hope you enjoy them.
Francis Posted April 17, 2002 Posted April 17, 2002 it's no use! I shall stick to PSP 7.0 until the next version comes out. I have tried Photoshop and found the interface to take too long, but each to their own. Plus I know most of the keyboard shortcuts in PSP anyway
Joak Posted April 17, 2002 Posted April 17, 2002 Hello, for most standard work, with images from my digicam, I do also use PSP - i.e. I like the crop function in PSP best, also the basic filters for for photo enhancement are good enough in most cases. Well, for the more complex tasks, Photoshop is without alternatives. best wishes Joak
PostCode Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 The image modifications themselves were all done in Photoshop. The use of filters is the main thing. The wording on the images was done in Fireworks. Reason being, it's easier to reposition the layer in Fireworks than it is in Photoshop. That and the features for modifying the word(s) are easier to use in Fireworks. You can also use Photoshop plugins within Fireworks but I've noticed that some don't work...some of them even create enough havoc to bomb out and close Fireworks down completely. Still, Fireworks is by far easier to use than Photoshop is. Here's another I've created. granted, it's on a little on the wild side, but I find it's meaning to be right on. Hope you enjoy it.
stellah Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 I like to play around with pumps... _______________ HH forever!
stellah Posted September 5, 2002 Posted September 5, 2002 Black and white... _______________ HH forever!
Francis Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Wow! Someone was imaginative! Somehow I don't think some of those styles would last more than a few minutes walking. They'd be great for modelling purposes, but not for much else.
Laurieheels Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 What's with the platform art, Dex? Like, some shred of practicality is important! I kid, because we all know how I feel about plats. Stellah, you have put up some nice pictures there, very much to my style and liking.
stellah Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 Thanks, Laurie! I add some more of my fav pumps: Standing in ankle-strap pumps: Sitting in ankle-strap pumps. Standing in pumps. _______________ HH forever!
Dexter23 Posted September 6, 2002 Posted September 6, 2002 What's with the platform art, Dex? Like, some shred of practicality is important! Well I think it's art, it you like it or not. I think these platform heels are more like art than stellah posted. (sorry stellah)
stellah Posted September 8, 2002 Posted September 8, 2002 Art is art. Everyone is not into art Dexter was right (no offence taken). My created was not true art - just reimaging actual photos. The platform ones are true art... done by real artist _______________ HH forever!
Laurieheels Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 I am not saying it isn't art, because it is, but why is art always so unpractical? Fantasy going too far? Who knows. I'm a writer, the visual work happens in my head. I have no idea how to make the images on paper, I just use words.
Dexter23 Posted September 9, 2002 Posted September 9, 2002 by real artist Yep a real artist, not me to bad.

It's a prerequisite for a footwear design graduate. So the answer would have to be yes. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
