sscotty727 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Our office is setup where the microwave is next to the office door that leads into the hallway. The hallway is uncarpted, so you can hear when women are coming in heels. While I was heating up my lunch today, I heard a nice pair of heels coming down the hall, so I hung out watching the hall so I could see the heels. It turned out to be my co-worker. She came in, walked to her cubicle. A little while later, she came out of her cubicle wearing flats. I've heard of women wearing heels in the office and changing to flats to run to lunch, but I have never heard of someone wearing flats in the office and changing to heels to go to lunch. I just thought it was curious.
jwhite44 Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 Personally I think it makes sense - no reason to 'dress up" while you're sitting at your desk. A woman I work work, half the time puts her makeup on right before she goes out to lunch.
sscotty727 Posted December 30, 2009 Author Posted December 30, 2009 I thought about that, except she had on long pants that covered the heel. If I hadn't head them in the hall, I might not even had noticed she was wearing heels. She was defintely wearing flats after though.
pussyinboots Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 It's completely normal, as is the make-up thing too. "Good Girls keep diaries....Bad Girls just don't have the time...!:icon_twisted:"
Dr. Shoe Posted December 30, 2009 Posted December 30, 2009 I used to take my shoes off when I worked in an office and would just put them on whenever I left the desk. Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
sscotty727 Posted December 31, 2009 Author Posted December 31, 2009 Don't get me wrong, I have no problem that she did it, just I have always seem the reverse. Flats going out and then heels when back in the office. She actually rarly wears them around the office, so I was kinda hoping she would have kept them on;) Oh well.
roniheels Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I used to take my shoes off when I worked in an office and would just put them on whenever I left the desk. I still do that on occassion in the office.
Dawn HH Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Mickey used to wear flats into work and carried her heels in a bag. After arriving at work, she would put her heels on for the day and then changed into her flats for the drive home while carrying her heels in the bag again. If she wore boots for snow that day, she would do the same. If she wore heeled boots that day, she would travel to and from either in snow boots or flats wearing the heeled boots all day long at work. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
kikepa Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I've heard of women wearing heels in the office and changing to flats to run to lunch, but I have never heard of someone wearing flats in the office and changing to heels to go to lunch.] Do you think she's beginning to take after you? LoL! Those who really care about us don't make a fuss about what we wear. Those who make a fuss about what we wear really don't care about us.
sscotty727 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Posted January 3, 2010 Do you think she's beginning to take after you? LoL! I don't change my shoes, one way or the other, duing the work day. I wear all day whatever I wore to go to work.
vicious_highheels Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I'll kick 'em off whilst at my desk......... I don't change shoes during the day ....hope this helps :-))
sscotty727 Posted January 5, 2010 Author Posted January 5, 2010 Actually, it occurred to me that I didn't actually see her in the morning as I was at my desk. I first saw her after she came back from lunch. It is entirely possible she had heels on all day and took them off after lunch because her feet were tired/sore. I didn't think it bizzare or troubling, I just thought it was something I never saw before, someone wearing heels to lunch but back to flats in the office. But as I said, maybe I just missed her in heels in the morning (darn!).
vicious_highheels Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 You missed out.....darn....... Better still go up to her & ask the question .....yes yes.....
