  1. great idea! I know that heat softens things. Perhaps it will soften these babies so i can fit in them again. I'll try it. thanx!! I got them at a thrift store. They are almost brand new! Hardly a speck on the soles! The brand of the shoe is Caressa. They are size 8, and i wear an 8 1/2. Like i said, they were on my feet before, for about 1/2 hour. I'll get them on again, and then i'll keep them on for a few hours, walking around lots, until they wear in.

If you're looking for wearability and comfort you would do well to get a size 10. If you're only doing it for the moment it doesn't matter. The tightness is probably what you want at the time. No amount of stretching is going to make those shoes comfortable to walk in.

  2. Was at a holiday gathering at my alma mater when I spotted a young undergrad at the welcome table wearing a perfectly nice pair of suede skimmer flats. She had one leg crossed over the other and I noticed the cut ov the vamp on her shoe, it was oblique and nicely showed cleavage across the whole foot. She sorta glanced at me while I was checking her out. She then turned her head to talk to the person next to her and at the same time curled her toes down. As she did that the shoe slipped off her toes and clattered to the floor. I don't even know if I recovered before everyone noticed but I almost felt like I owed her some money for that. Hope everyone else has happy holidays.

  3. No heels

That's why I didn't post this in a heel-related part of the forum.

I've given up on wearing heels myself, but I love it when men do.

OOOOKKAAAYYY! Flats it is. There's thousands of variations on the ballet flat and on flat mocassins or loafers. Find a grouping of materials and colors you like and go for it. My suggestion would be monochrome top and hosiery and cloth or metallic patterned ballet flats.
  4. Shrimper, she said that she wanted to wear flat-heeled shoes. Those ballet pumps would be perfect. They are pretty and would be very comfortable.

Wolfgang, I know I didn't mention it before, but what do you mean by "over the knee tights?" Do you mean capri-length leggings? If not, do you mean thigh-highs?

You're right Dandy, she did say that. I am suggesting that she might be able to find some comfortable wedges or heeled loafers.

Hope I didn't offend anybody by thinking outside the box again.

  5. Good to see you back in the saddle JeffB. Just make sure the horse doesn't get away from you again. (love the pumps). I actually stepped out of the house today in my 2 inch block heel loafers. It was such a rush, almost a spiritual experience. Its like I felt energies coming to me, filling me with their power, and it felt GOOD.

  6. I'm pretty much the same as RPMindy. I like to see that the shoes have been worn and are broken in to the wearer's feet but I don't like to see signs of neglect or abuse. I think I had commented on Paris Hilton showing up in heels that were scraped up. I've seen this on more than one occasion and to me its a turnoff.

  7. I don't know. If I was really in love I would give up heel wearing if she wanted me too.

I have been deeply in love more than once in my 60 years and my passion fro shoes has NEVER gone away. I don't know of anybody who has ever been "cured" of this though I know many who have tried.

If I were in this situation where no real commitments had been made (such as marriage) I would strongly consider backing off that relationship. There will be no acceptable (for you) compromise and you will always be hiding that part of you from the relationship (in effect cheating).

  8. I just got these for Christmas:

I normally get 11W but the 11M in both fit much better. I'm surprised that the pumps don't hurt my ankle which is why I have been shying away from higher heels lately, and this is my first pair of black patent leather pumps which have always been my favorites.

I hope everyone finds their perfect pair this Christmas.

  9. I've got a new most comfortable pair. I just got back from Payless with my 3.5 inch patent leather pumps in a size 11M. I got them first in 11W since I can no longer wear the 10's that I used to but they were not a good fit even though the length was right. Now that I have them right-sized I can walk in them with no ankle pain as I have been experiencing so much lately with flat shoes even. Here's the link:

  10. My most comfortable pair right now is a pair of pointy-toe slingbacks with a 2 inch heel from Payless in an 11W. Their shoes always fit me though not all their styles are comfortable. My most comfortable pair ever was a pair of ankle-strap pumps with a 5.5 inch heel that I got from, of all places, Fingerhut! They were less than $20USD but they were leather and they felt like I was walking in flats almost. I called them my "magic" pumps. Unfortunately I wore them out years ago and had to let them go.
