  1. OK kent. here we go: LONDON HEELMEET DETAILS - SAT 16th DEC 2006 10am AT THE PUB IN OXFORD STREET NEXT TO "BOND STREET" SUBWAY By the subway exit, Davies St. and South Molton St. both branch south from Oxford Street, diverging from each other). In the fork between these two streets where they meet Oxford Street is a prominent pub with chairs & tables outside and inside. We've each met before, but I'll be wearing heels. ANY LATECOMERS - RING MY CELLPHONE 07966 450583. EXPECTED ATTENDERS: kent, me(Heelfan), Dr. Shoe, Firefox and possibly Xaphod. ALL WELCOME!!! - Further attenders please post here or ring my mobile cellphone on the day. FORECAST: DRY, BRIGHT, CHILLY. SUGGESTED SCHEDULE: Move off as soon after 10am as assembled. As Dr. Shoe suggests, let's look after kent first by doing the "Bigfoot" shops first (Chiltern Street/Oxford Street) and then there's time to do the normal shops for any "small/medium foots" that attend, plus clothes for Tara (Dr. Shoe). I have to leave by about 5pm, but first we can brief kent on the best museums to visit on Sunday. Remember: ALL WELCOME. BRING MY MOBILE CELLPHONE NUMBER ALONG. POST HERE FIRST IF POSSIBLE! See y'all for some Happy Christmas Heeling! (kent - you're welcome to try phoning again - my home number is more likely than my cellphone this week). Cheers, Heelfan

  2. Looking good Dr. Shoe! Doggone it though - my diary has just reminded me that I have a jazz gig in Newbury on Saturday evening. However, I should still be able to attend from morning to mid-afternoon. I'll know more as soon as Kent has phoned me with his wishes for the day (seeing as he's the one coming all the way from the States. Cheers, Heelfan

  3. Can I remind everyone that it's NOT just two forums "For The Guys" versus "For The Girls", but there's a very good "For Everyone" forum too, and many other very worthwhile forums on this very excellent site. Its creators could not have succeeded better in providing something for everyone! As for the resurrection of the HH Meeting Place site, I am certainly one of those who applaud its new invigoration 101%! VERY WELL DONE TO RICHIE THE NEW WEBMASTER AND ALL HIS NEW FRESH, KEEN MODERATORS!!!! Long may it continue! Cheers, Heelfan

  4. Hi Dr Shoe! That's great if you're offering to join kent and me for a "bigfoot mini-meet"! I trust that kent will be similarly pleased. After Kent arrives in the UK on Wednesday, he will ring me to arrange the meet, so I'll ring you then to let you know too. To Xaphod: Hi Xa! - I note that you are interested too! The only thing is that kent is a bigfoot, and might you get bored if he (and me) haunt all the outsize shops? I know I always find it frustrating (the shops, not the company) when all you small-foots visit endless Oxford street shops with all those wonderful ladies-sized shoes that are invariably too small for me! Sheer torture by tantalisation! It's just that I can't think how we could plan the day to please everybody without depriving kent of sufficient time in the specialist bigfoot shops. Cheers, Heelfan

  5. Hi Kent! With respect to the previous posters, and speaking as a "Bigfoot" myself (size 9 UK = size 11 US), Camden is not the best place for big sizes. Camden has lots of "wild" shoe styles, but very little in larger than normal womens' sizes. No, the places where I get most of my heels are CHILTERN STREET (parallel with Sherlock Holmes' Baker Street) in MAGNUS, ELEPHANT FEET and one or two other shops specialising in ladies' shoes in large sizes. Also. in nearby OXFORD STREET: EVANS (2 branches) and BARRETT'S Tall & Small Department, both of whom cater for large ladies. Come to think of it, very possibly I could meet you in London on 16th and take you around to those places - a sort of mini heelmeet. If you fancy this, please telephone me as soon as possible - I'm sending you a PM with my UK telephone number. Cheers, Heelfan

  6. Allow me to join those before me who are understanding and sympathetic to you. As a veteran street-heeler from aged 12 to 62 (50 years and counting), I've gone through various phases of going "over-the-top" (amassing several hundred pairs of heels) and then having periodic drawing-back and having massive clear-outs and non heel-wearing phases. However, many such previous forum debates have established that it seems to be a passion that we're stuck with, and it DOESN'T GO AWAY - it simply becomes suppressed for a while. So yes, as already said in this thread, it is all down to a balance of gently enjoying one's innermost passions without going bust or feeling that you are making a total fool of yourself or worse still, starting to despise yourself. "Everything in moderation" as some wise person said. Happy heeling! Cheers, Heelfan

  7. Try contacting my daughter Mel and her fetish shoe shop "Peachy" at 10 Perry Road, central Bristol:

    telephone 0117 3309090

    or peachyshoes@yahoo.co.uk

or send her a PM to "Peachy" via this forum.

The reason that many 5" and 6" heels are expensive is that they are usually in good genuine leather and usually have to be especially handmade by small specialist workshops which means about £60-70 upwards. However, the foot can then "breathe" without getting clammy, and they last for years.

As an alternative, Mel is in the process of stocking an equally attractive-looking but imitation leather range that should (we hope) retail at about half of that price.

Mel has always welcomed visitors to her Peachy shop and her discreet private fitting-room, but also she is currently developing a website for internet sales too.

Also, we will organise a Heelmeet for Forum members there during 2007.

    Cheers, Heelfan

  8. I agree with everybody! Stable stiletto heels are sexy. Wobbly heels are sexy. Inward lean is sexy. "Catwalk flip" (flipping your heel into an inward lean at the end of each stride) is sexy. The only things that are not sexy are a) an outward lean, and :rocker: the dreaded flatties! Cheers, Heelfan

  9. Hi Secreto! I do so much hope that negative experience doesn't put you off the further delights of street-heeling! I'm very surprised at the reactions that you received, because those of us who often streetheel along Oxford Street (sometimes individually and sometim es in numbers of ten to twenty at the Heelmeets, and usually in more spectacular heels than your mid-height wedges) have in recent years been getting increasingly less negative reactions, and increasingly more positive and encouraging positive reactions - even people enthusing about our shoes/boots and asking where we got them. Sadly, I think you just had bad luck on the day - but keep it up, whatever you do! Cheers, Heelfan

  10. My constructive comments: 1. Although we met outside a shop on that Oxford Heelmeet 2 or 3 years ago (my very first of many UK Heelmeets!), I think our more recent practice of meeting in a coffee bar such as Starbucks is much better, so we can sit and sip whilst people arrive. 2. Chris - for your "Oop North" meet idea, I suggest this would be better persued by you starting your own thread here on "Real Life Meetings" giving your suggested town, date, etc., rather than continuing on this Oxford meet thread. I'm sure it would take off with Daz and all the other members oop north! Cheers, Heelfan

  11. Hi Robert (picture poster) and frustrated viewers! Yes Robert, last night (Monday), all of your pictures were on-screen looking splendid, but now it's only dreaded red crosses! Has something gone wrong with your picture provider? or have you exceeded some maximum-pixel-per-posting limit? or might it help to try re-posting them? Also, to Robert and Kneehighs etc.: What happened to the spectacular whole-group photos? I hope one of you can post those! Cheers, Heelfan

  12. Report - World Heel-Meet, 13th May, London Well, we didn't quite make the 21 hoped for by Kneehighs, due to the sad absence of FGWJON, Dougal and shakedown. However let that not detract from the great fact that it was the all-time RECORD ATTENDANCE of 18 MEMBERS!: Heel-D, Xaphod, Calv, kneehighs from New York, Tara, heeluis from Hamburg, fogborkenvv and Mrs. fogborkenvv, euchrid, Heelfan, Firefox, Peachy (Mel), Si, jo, Robert from The Netherlands, a3 from the Netherlands, micha from Frankfurt aND micha's friend from Germany. It really is gratifying how amazingly the high heel movement is growing - over 2,500 members on Megaforums, and eighteen meeting in person for a street-heeling day! We always say "Heels not compulsory", but all except one wore high heels, and some changed into a second or third pair as the day wore on. Micha turned up in pink cowboy boots, but later changed into a pair of sandals with stiletto heels so high that he actually hit his head on the ceiling of the escalator in Top Shop! Due to the impressive size of the group, much of the time was spent welcoming new arrivers into the group, and waiting for the Waterloo Station group to join the main party. So unusually, although about five or six shoe shops were visited, I don't think any purchases were made. The emphasis was more towards socialising, eating, drinking and chatting generally, with a running entertainment from Firefox who treated us to an array of magic tricks. Soon after 5 pm, Peachy and I had to return to Bristol to enable Melanie to prepare her stocks of extreme heels for the Swamp Fetish Fair which was held in Bristol on the following day, but we trusted that the rest of the party would have a great evening. Before we departed, Kneehighs asked all of the attendees to post reports of the Heel-Meets, very kindly saying that he would sponsor a prize for the best report, to be judged by him and me. The prize is a pair a shoes of the winner's choice from Mel's Peachy Shoes. Telephone Peachy Shoes (0117 3309090) for details of her stocks. So, all those who have not yet posted, please post your report! Those who wish to add to or replace their initial report, please post below! All of us should extend a huge "THANK YOU" to Kneehighs, firstly for conceiving this world record Heel-Meet, and secondly for donating funds to sponsor the winning pair of shoes prize for the best report. Secondly, our thanks to Robert for posting excellent photos of the Meets, and to others who we hope will follow suit. Cheers, Heelfan

  13. Tips for all attendees: 1. Starbucks (the main rendezvous) is approx. No. 124 Oxford Street, but might be a few numbers higher or lower than 124. However, you'll find it if you following the directions at the very top of this thread. 2. It's always a good idea to get a print-out of those arrangements, and take it with you to the meet, to refer to all directions, phone numbers etc. Happy Heel-Meeting one and all, and see you tomorrow! Cheers, Heelfan

Not too late to post below that you are joining the record-attendance-breaking World Heel-Meet (Heels nice, but not compulsory!). Cheers, Heelfan

  19. No, of course it's not a big deal. However, without it being very important, mayble such shots would be better posted in "Your Favourite Hiugh Heel Pictures" thread? Very nice shots, by the way! Cheers, Heelfan
