  1. Hi Folks, Thanks to all who have posted in the last ten months since I started this thread in January 2007. A most fascinating and heartening response so far. Thanks also for your complimentary comments on this thread. The one and only criticism came from Micha who didn't like me asking for reports of men streetheeling because he felt that I was asking other people to do the work instead. In fact, the reverse is true because I got the ball rolling with reports of my own, and topped it up with others since, totalling as much as anybody! Personally, I'm confident that it is a valuable thread because the growing knowledge that male street-heeling is being observed increasingly in various nations can only give confidence to those shyguys that were too nervous to step out in heels because they thought they were the only one in the world. So again, great reports this year, and keep 'em coming in!!! Cheers, Heelfan

  2. This thread appears to be in the wrong place. Click on to the specially dedicated forum "Real Life Meetings" and you'll see exactly what meetings have taken place around the UK, The States, Holland, Paris etc., together with full reports from those who attended. Also, anyone can post to create and organise their own future Heelmeet on there! Glood luck! Cheers, Heelfan

  3. Well, whatever the male French singer's motives, it was great to see a straight male singer representing his country in front of 150 million viewers wearing high heels. They were semi-chunky heels between 3" and 4" in height. Well done to him! Sadly the Danish transvestite "DQ" didn't qualify in his red stiletto court shoes, but as reported, we did see the Ukraine's transvestite's lead singer in his silver Oxfords with 3.5" Louis heels. All in all, with several male lead singers (transvestite and otherwise) in high heels, and with quite a few male dancers and side-singers in 2"+ heels (mostly knocked out in the semifinal), I thought the 2007 Song Contest did quite a lot to promote the cause of male heel-wearing. Cheers, Heelfan

  4. Hi Jeff B! As so many others have said, street-heeling moods seem to ebb and flow with most of us. Nothing to worry abiout. In fact, it's quite a good thing, because I aways find that after one of my "negative" phases, it's all the more great to get positive and start heeling-away again, and the rush comes back much more than it would have done if I was routinely heeling away all the time! Cheers, Heelfan

  5. Danmark gogogogogogo

YES! The semifinal (25 countries) was on Thursday, and Denmark's heel-wearing male singer was great! He appeared as "DQ", an ultra glitzy drag singer - very glamorous in a stunning dress and sparkling red stiletto court shoes. I'm not sure if he was chosen for tonights's final because I didn't wait up through the voting lull to hear the results.

To balance him, one of the new East-European member countries was represented by a small, young girl dressed up in lesbian mode - short black hair, black suite and the dreaded flat shoes making her look like a drab office boy.

On a more lively note, quite a few of the male-mode male entertafrom various countries were wearing chunky heels of higher than normal height -2" plus (side singers and dancers and a few of the main singers) and the singer representing Portugal sang in 3" Spanish-style heels.

Some of the lady singers wore some great high stilettos.

All in all, a great evening of heels on television!

Look in at the final tonight (UK TV BBC 1 at 8 pm, and to be shown in many, many other countries!

    Cheers, Heelfan

  6. Shucks! I'm VERY, VERY, VERY sorry! For tomorrow's jazz concert in Colchester, the bandleader has now asked me to pick up the trumpeter (Croydon) at 11.30 am and the pianist (Chiselhurst) at 12.30 pm and get the three of us up to Essex in time for the mid-afternoon concert. As in my last post, I was hoping to catch the first hour of the Heelmeet and then make my own way to Colchester. This is doubly frustrating because I had to miss Kneehigh's World Heelmeet in London recently due to band concerts throughout that period. Again, I am SO SORRY, but all I can do is keep my fingers crossed for the next one. Have a good one guys - I'll be thinking of you! Happy Heeling, Cheers, Heelfan

  7. I'm 62 and been publically street-heeling continuously from the age of 12. Therefore I can celebrate half-a-century of streetheeling, and I've enjoyed every moment (except one) of it all. Cheers, Heelfan

  8. Hi! I've only just seen this date advertised for the meet (due to having been on jazzband tour in Germany). Assuming that the Reading Meet is planned to start at the usual 10-11am, I could make the first hour or so, but I have to be in East Anglia to play in a mid-afternoon jazz concert on Saturday. As a purely constructive comment, you're leaving it very late to let us know the Venue (is there a Starbucks in Reading?) and the Rendezvous Time. Having organised lots of past heelmeets, I found the best way is to plunge in and post these arrangements many weeks ahead, and that positive step gives members plenty of notice and confidence that it's definitely taking place. Anyway, I'll keep looking in, and good luck! Cheers, Heelfan

  9. I didn't vote, firstly because steel-tipped heels click-click-click and don't clank. Clanking sounds like hitting a rusty old iron pipe with a hammer! Secondly because my collection comprises many more styles than just stiletto or wedge. I've got chunky heels too, plus semi chunky plus blade heels plus vane heels plus platforms etc. etc. Thirdly, I like BOTH silent and loudly clicking heels. It depends whether I'm in discreet shyguy mood or in-your-face strtting' my stuff mood! Cheers, Heelfan

  10. Last night's British TV programme was to choose the British contestant. All of the other European nations have already chosen their contestants, and apparently TWO nations (Denmark is one) will be entering cross-dressed guys in high heels to sing their songs! Cheers, Heelfan

  11. I found that we can admit our fetishes with honesty and yet still lead rich lives with our girlfriends/wives. My wife and I discussed my fetish very early on, but she realises that I can be sexually excited by high heels without diminishing my love for her and our great relationship. We have been very happily married for 34 years and I'm still happily heeling away too! The secret? Until you can be honest and admkit it to yourself, you can't be honest with your loved ones. The best relationships are built on trust, honesty and openess, yes and including warts and all! Be 100% frank whilst being kind and loving at the same time. Cheers, Heelfan

  12. Let's be honest guys, regarding the vast majority of us, the shoe fetish accusation is blatantly true! Much better to be frank and just admit it, rather than assuming airs of righteous indignation and denial! However, I agree with Elegant in that we can admit our fetishes with honesty and yet still lead rich social lives. My wife realised my fetish very early on, but she realises that I can be sexually excited by high heels without diminishing my love for her and our great relationship. We have been very happily married for 34 years and I'm still happily heeling away too! The secret? Until you can be honest and admkit it to yourself, you can't be honest with your loved ones. 13. Well spotted! Very few Zappos have gone that large! Why not take a chance on the width. If you buy them by mail-order, I think you can return them or stretch them (see shoe modifications thread). Cheers, Heelfan

  14. I've been to Copenhagen from time to time, touring with jazzbands - the last time only a month ago. Lovely city and people etc., but as Firefox says, nothing exciting there in the way of Danish Heelwearing or great shoeshops, so possibly not as good for a Heelmeet as say London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Rome etc. Cheers, Heelfan

  15. Absolutely! Having also attended the Paris Heelmeet which included about six from the UK and Robert from Holland, we all went everywhere in Paris (day and evening) in our heels - it was great! So, answer: everywhere! Cheers, Heelfan

  16. Yes! I'm not that far from Reading or Oxford, and keen to attend. I'm usually free weekdays during daytimes and some evenings. Just take the plunge and name a date, time and rendezvous or restaurant (preferably by editting these into your first posting at the TOP of this thread to grab everyone's attention) and is looks as though you'll get a nice little group! Good luck! Cheers, Heelfan

  17. I think new_look lives in York or very close to York oop north. He's also been a keen attender at various of our heel-meets in London and elsewhere and is a friendly young member. It would certainly be worth sending him a PM message and suggesting a meet. Good luck, and give him my regards. Cheers, Heelfan

  18. Regarding the disparity in the heel height, surely this is explained by the presence of the 1" platform. The heel might indeed measure 5" down the back, but when the lift is lessened by a 1" platform, it is really a 4" heel in true high heel terms. Cheers, Heelfan
