  1. Waisted Giraffe,

They are from a company called 1969 Boutique. Just google them and you'll find all the info. We found them to have fantastic quality but as you might expect, you pay for it. Retail price for all of these combined is around 21,000 dhs which is about 5,800 USD or 4,000 Euro respectively. The blue, grey shoes and brown boots are real python skin and the black leather on the boots is butter soft. I had to put supports inside the boots just so they would stand alone for the photos.

Thanks for the kitchen compliments. Its a comtemporary style that is something I've never had before but I like simple and clean lines.

Living in the UAE definitely has its advantages. Boutiques for Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, YSL, Loriblu, Gianmarco Lorenzi, Fendi, Burberry, Dior, Gucci, Brian Atwood.... Most if not all of the top designers can be found here as well as the cheaper styles form Steve Madden, Bebe, Aldo.... There is definitely no shortage of towering heels whether shopping at the local malls and boutiques, walking around the area or dining out. Heels are EVERYWHERE you turn!

............ah! at approx £1k per pair i think i'll pass.

  2. You are better than me because I know for a fact that none of my friends would accept of my heel loving. But if I had the balls to wear tall heels in public I would take full advantage of it.

doesn't make me better than you.......maybe in a better situation; though these are only two of three friends I have told; the third is a girl I was at infant school with - we've never quite got it together but I told her as I had a feeling we would at some point do so following a couple of interesting conversations we have had but our friendship has stalled.

Hansi1973; oh, there won't be any public heeling with them.

docs41; don't worry, they will certainly get the opportunity........"so do you want to try?......."

  3. All May Bank Holiday last year I went away with a couple of old university friends; after an unfortunately expensive experience near the Moulin Rouge, we decided to drown our sorrows in a local cafe, where the conversation turned to a point that I could explain I have a fetish for heels and corsets etc. I had been building up to telling them for a good while - their reaction was frankly nonplussed which sort have took the wind out of my sails but was the response I really wanted; they were really quite interested and I was able to show some photos. Anyway, have met up a couple of times since and the conversation has at some point come round to heels - their doing not mine; I am due to meet them again this weekend and the guy I am going to stay with has specifically stated that I "can bring heels if I wish" (I read as; please bring heels for us to have a look) as I don't make a habit of carrying my heels in the car. So of course I'm going to take some heels; I think the 5,3/4" black patent stilettos, 4,1/2" black satin straps and even possibly the ballet heels to really blow their minds! will let you know how it goes; I get the feeling getting them to try a pair or two will take very little effort! R

  4. Luckyme Holy c*** Lucky you indeed on both counts of the shoes and the GF (in that she clearly is okay with you in heels also). They are some seriously gorgeous shoes and boots; apologies for the ignorance but would you provide some details of manufacturer (1969?), models and where to buy. Oh, and nice kitchen btw (but expect nothing less from UAE!) R

  5. Indeed, definitely worth a watch by newbies and old hands alike; had sussed the ball of the foot action but I still can't quite seem to swing my hips enough.......though I wear shoes as a boy in heels rather than trying to look like a woman. Nice Natacha Marro? Mary Janes. R

  6. .......damn it; was hoping someone else would post an alternative source! First saw these years ago (8?) on the Fuss website and quite sure they were nowhere near as expensive as they are now. As you will note, they are only available in a very limited number of sizes (they used to go up to about EU44 if I remember correctly); I get the feeling they are no longer made and possibly the reason why they are charging as much as they are. Would be interested in knowing of any other suppliers....... ------------------------------------------------------------------- It appears from the similar style sandals available, that the brand is "Fifty 6" but an initial Google search doesn't throw up any similar styles by that brand R

  7. Certainly interested in the fact that these are specifically aimed at men by virtue of the size range BUT despite the fact that I wear heels and therefore have no problem with the concept of men in heels, these just look like another pair of women's heeled boots - there is nothing in the design to suggest they are masculine / designed specifically for men. If I as one, am unable to get over this concept what chance is there of the rest of society accepting men in heels. As per Kneehighs' first para, I suppose it will just go down to continued exposure by those at the cutting edge of fashion styles to push concepts such as this through to the norm...........i certainly hope it will be the case. Although I've been wearing heels for over a decade now, there has been a fairly recent development of shaving my legs and wearing nylons regularly.

When I started to shave my leags last year, my friends did notice and some comments were made, although they they thought I was doing it for the benefits for cycling.

I started just buying normal tights but found I could never find pair that were generous enough for a boy's anatomy, so progressed to hold ups and now wear on a regular basis under my normal clothes.

As you may also know, I wear corsets; all of them have come with detachable suspenders but have never found suspender straps long enough to suit my body length despite having extra long stockings that rise right up to my crotch, the straps were pulled to full stretch and quickly become very uncomfortable.

This therefore leads me on to the point of this thread......as with the heels and corsets, I find these items extremely attractive, especially the highest heels and smallest corsets and of course love to see them being worn, this is also the case with suspender / garter belts, so I searched for garter belts with the highest number of straps.........well it appears 14 is the maximum commercially available.

I bought these from Stockings HQ and are superb; http://www.stockingshq.com/SHQ-Classic-Suspense-14-strap-suspender-belt ; they got their first outing the week I received them when I attended an 'Allo, 'Allo themed party as a cafe waitress 5" stilettos and a super short mini skirt to ensure the straps were on show.

(for our non UK members a particularly British sitcom, see; http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086659/)

Thought some of you may be interested to also buy; would be interested if you know of any belts with even more straps.

PS. there is a picture of me in them but the girl on the website does a far better job!

  9. although heels are by tradition girlie / feminine, I wasn't really sure that any of mine were particularly, however pulled out the black satin pair (Red Herring from Debenhams) the other evening and suddenly realised just how girlie they are by virtue of the jewelled bows, although quite dominant with the thin hidden platform and the heel height. Then realised the red patent (KG by Kurt Geiger) are truly girlie by virtue of the round toe and wide strap. What I really love about these is the quite dramatic curve back heel.

  10. all

although departing from the specifics of the original post, whilst looking for some more wedge heels, I saw these and was reminded of the comma heels previously discussed.

I have a deep love of Vivienne Westwood's androgynous clothing styles and many of the shoes, of which she has collaborated with Melissa here.

unfortunately have spent far too much on car and bicycle parts to justify these for the moment.

  11. ..........but not what you might imagine; these are men's shoes for day to day wear.........which in terms of shoe buying over the past 2 years amounts to an approximate ratio of......1:10 "mens" shoes to heels!.....I am amazed that I will spend over £50 without thinking on a pair of heels approximately once a month but will obsess for weeks over spending £30 on a pair of normal shoes. There must be something missing in my brain but not really complaining....my collection is quite pretty R

  12. Somewhere North of 500 quid I would reckon. No lower than 400 if I over-estimated.

as per this, you're spot on for £500; http://www.20ltd.com/product/mary-jane-heel-less-liquid-red-glitter-shoes/

however the back of the heel really needs some better sculpting; if you were going to get a pair with that shape you might as well go for the Punitive Ascots, save yourself a few hundred and then get them modified; http://www.punitiveshoes.com/database/ballets/ascotiron.shtml

I prefer the shape of the "I make bootsngloves" style but these could do with being a little higher.

  13. I appreciate that the OP is now a banned user for some reason, but either way the info may be useful to others.

I've just taken delivery of a pair of heel-less shoes made by www.Imakebootsngloves.com

First impressions are that they are well made, very light and well padded as well. I've spoken to Allan, the chap who runs the store about the possibility of making them with a smaller platform, and that does not appear to compromise the design at all.

A quick couple of photos of them are added, but they were bought for Persephone to wear, so I've no doubt that there will be a few posted of them in use, when we next get together.

He currently has a pair of shoes and a pair of heel-less ankle boots for sale on ebay, but will make to order for anyone. His ebay member link is http://myworld.ebay.com/allan2764/

Ooo; now they are a nice variation to the Punitive Shoes option; I think it's the deconstructed minimal "heel" that just enhances the shape - but agree about having a lower platform, I think they would look all the better for it.

Well, I for one am looking forward to seeing the pictures of Persephone in them; good find.

  14. almost a hundred views, and nobody seems to have noticed the boys are wearing tights.

    meh;

    a) not as if they had any choice.

 possibly a historic cultural dress such as Scottish Kilts, English Morris Men or German Lederhosen etc (not sure exactly where they are from though by virtue of the Chinese-esque script and the "Russian" sound to the music I would suggest Mongolian)

    c) but the rest of the dress is innocuous.

  15. Ninety-nine times out of a hundred, it's always the adults who get their panties in a bunch when kids display their self-expression. Hell, it's amazing this story got the kind of press it did in the first place, I mean, would a TV crew show up at a high school if word got out about a girl there wearing full-blown combat boots? Of course not! Talk about one-sided hypocrisy.

yes but it's cases like this with hypocrisy that begin to break the norm - don't forget it took almost 100 years for women to be accepted wearing "male" clothing from Emmeline Pankhurst to the 1960's sexual revolution

Good on the boy for having the balls to do it - God Knows I certainly wish I did at that age but equally in a school, control needs to be held that it doesn't cause unnecessary distraction. Bullying is likely to happen in this case, unfortunately the easy option is to remove the problem rather than teach acceptance but it will come.
