  1. hey, i just ordered the platform mary jane wedge from t.u.k. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003U68UKI/ref=s9_simh_gw_p309_d0_g309_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0PVRVBJ6QGA7WZ0TNN5V&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846

so exited to get them!! been looking for a 6 inch heel wedge for a while. cant wait!!:).. ill post pics when they arrive.

good find; passed the link on to a friend that might be very interested.

  2. These are nothing but the same ballet boots you can get everywhere on ebay (and for the half price). Every ballet heel on ebay which cannot be identified as being a pleaser ballet heel but looks 'kinda' like them is made by one and the same manufacturer. Only difference is that some shops have customized material offers.

indeed but a wonderful range of material / colour options; hadn't considered it before but the suede looks really good.

  3. so going back to HHDude's original question; certainly would have a good go at strutting my stuff, probably not flawlessly straight away but a bit of practice and thought never goes a miss, and certainly would do with out support - pretty much how I did the first time I was on ballet heels.

I suggest people comment that they couldn't walk in such shoes because they don't really "see" the mechanics of the shoe; Shafted puts it so well, these are technically invisible heels, that of course use a cantilever to support the shank.

As for seeing them on the high street; there was a thread at the beginning of the year exploring what we thought would be the coming styles of the year - I think we can safely say that this will be style that we will see more and more of, filtering down to the high street; they "look" impossible as we've discussed and therefore have a serious wow factor.

All manufacturers need to do now is engineer a cheap shank that can deal with the forces and they won't be far off - next year's big seller?

BTW, I think the pair shown are a wonderful iteration of the variations we've seen from Natacha Marro and Imakebootsandgloves plus others; see our previous thread; http://www.hhplace.org/everybody/19373-question_pony_shoes_heel_less_shoe.html

further to my first, find following link to a video of the extreme ballet heels; http://suzanziballetheels.com/2011/08/15/special-ballet-heels/

Doesn't matter what you think of the execution but the idea and walking in them I think is very impressive - only slight shame that the.......well I'll let you see......seem to bend under the weight.

The following video of her walking through town is just as impressive, although as with all her extreme heels she modifies them so the heel shaft isn't really doing a great deal......therefore she walks around truly en-pointe; a) solves the ankle flexibility issue but :irked: requires stronger ankles and feet to maintain the en-pointe position.

  6. Don't get too excited. If you go to google images and do a search for Karen Gillan latex, you quickly see that it's a fake, as are several others of a similar nature.

Cripes, wow indeed but also finding a picture of Kiera Knightly did make me wonder whether they were fakes.

They certainly look fantastic but it does take the shine off - if you'll pardon the pun.

I would suggest the picture of Karen Gillan was originally of Alexandra Potter.

  7. Hi about 6 months ago i tryed on a pair of ballet boots in a shop just to see how they felt ,out of 3 pairs the punitive shoes made ones was the only pair that i could get my wide feet in due to having bunions, they was lace up and very well made but much wider than some other makes, found them suportive but not ever walked in ballet heels before was a challange .

    Hi

Which shop were you able to try Punitive ballet boots?

Found this brand that I've not seen before, Esska; rather chunky low to mid height heels with summer and winter collections.

I think the styles are quite suitable for the boys due to the chunkiness.

See link to Winter 10/11 season, most of which are seemingly still available; http://esskashoes.com/index.php?pathID=1_6_82_114 I particularly like the thick strapped styles like "Mellow"

Styles generally made me think of a pair I bought from Zara last summer with a fairly chunky cone heel and a slim hidden platform, attached.

  9. And at that price, does anyone know about the quality of the shoes?:)

Not directly but if you read through the "AboutUs" pages, you'll note that it has been set up by Cos K previously of Leather Works and Burlesque Blue (I thought the styles looked very similar to those on the Burlesque Blue website).

    However, it does make me wonder what is going on here as I understand no-one has been able to make a successful purchase from Leather Works for a while and Burlesque Blue are not taking any new orders;

"Due to the volume of orders we currently have, we are unable to accept new orders for Made to Order footwear at present"

seems odd that both these companies are set up and initially sell gorgeous shoes but then trading appears to stop only for another brand to start. At least there is seemingly stock available to buy from BB.

So going back to your question, I suppose the quality would be good.

    just an observation

  10. Bought these in New Look today - couldn't resist as they were only £8! :)

They're my first pair of UK size 8 too - think my feet have shrunk through heel wearing lol, started off size 10... Not a bad thing at all as many high street stores only have heels up to size 8. Lovely jubbly :)

good find, especially in the sale.

Cute looking shoes - can well believe you can fit smaller shoes than you used to; always a nice feeling - in both senses of the word.

  11. all Despite doing my best to not spend money, I wandered into our local Debenhams department store yesterday to have a look at what was available in the sales (I had a failed first meeting with a girl earlier in the week, so was sort of trying to console myself) nearly eveytyhing is in the sale but seemingly nothing more than I've seen before and not been bothered by - other than tucked around a corner on the size 8 stand, if found these; Kara D-Ring, by Jonathan Kelsey. Listed as eu42, I popped a shoe on and was clocked by a female customer the other side of the stand - she clearly saw, appeared a little bemused as she kept looking back but made no adverse looks or remarks. However as trying not to needlessly spend money I walked away....and found a duck feather filled duvet set for £33 down from £110...anyway I digress, needless to say I found myself tortured by the image and feel of the shoes, so ended going back today to both the shoes and the duvet set. This time I decided to be far braver to try on both shoes and walk round to a mirror where I had no chance of hiding. I eyeballed one male customer as I put them on, then wandered round to the mirror, looking to attract the attention of a sales staff but was already busy serving someone else. Great buzz as ever, male customer seemed to be discussing the fact with his partner, as I walked back past them to the till. Anyway, here they are, a comfy size 42, with a long enough point for my longer second toes to not be crushed up but will force a little bit of foot shaping :); 4" & 10/16ths high at the back of the heel. 12. Man, I just don't understand the attraction. This entire site is about high HEELS, and these shoes don't have any! I know that sometimes I should just keep my personal opinions to myself, but I just can't here...and I, and I stress "I" here, think these shoes are not only hideously ugly, but rather inane. My apologies to those who like them.

    RonC

Don't worry; It's good to have adverse opinion and variation; As I've said before I don't get the fuss over most of the Louboutin and Choo shoes and am happy to admit it; if we all liked all the same things we'd all look the same.

I would however contest the argument about not being high heels; surely any shoe where the heel of the foot is elevated above the ball is technically considered a high heel - but I understand exactly what you mean, in that there is no heel shaft

off to balance on my toes.......

  13. well that didn't quite turn out as expected. suffice to say the subject wasn't really broached; despite seeing a couple of guys out in fancy dress and heels at a local fund raiser - one of which looked too good to not be a regular wearer, 2 others clearly never having done so before and making a serious error wearing peep toe mules were in serious pain. We were with a couple of other people that don't know of my heels, so despite a few pointed remarks from my mates and a couple of nudges and winks, we didn't discuss the shoes - so they didn't get to try them on. Never mind, will carry a few pairs the next time I see them just in case. R
