  1. Before my times here on hhplace I never even measured my heels. Still I got in contact with the "heel height in standard size", because all manufacturers claim a certain heel height which doesn't seem to change with the shoe size. It's very prominent on some Louboutin models where it's even a part of the name (like Pigalle 120 or Hot Chick 130). Then after our discussions here I started measuring some of my heels (size 37) and found out they're a little bit below of what the manufacturer claims. So over all the years I didn't even know my personal heel height but got a good feeling for the "heel height in standard size" 😀 What does TH stand for? In my mind I also always subtract the platform height. Sure, a huge platform can make it more difficult to walk on uneven ground but for the steepness it's irrelevant.
  2. Certain shoes with similar heel heights also feel different for me. I think it comes from all the other differences they have combined.
  3. Yes, I have to walk a bit from the parking lot to the office. While at the office I don't walk that much, the longest distance there is normally going for lunch. Of course I also have several walks when not at work.
  4. Yes it's difficult to tell the exact height from photos. I also wouldn't skip to 13 cm in your case if 12 cm are a challenge. As for me, the Hot Chicks were a real challenge when I got them, and I had no issues with 12 cm.
  5. They indeed look a little lower than 12 cm, but this could also be a optical illusion.
  6. Thanks! It's just my normal everyday walks mostly to, at and from work. So I'm more surprised that it sums up that much.
  7. Haha no, that would be too much 😀 Most of that was in 9-11 cm heels, and only a bit in 12 and 13 cm.
  8. I finally did it - I tracked my walking for the last week. I walked 15,5 km. So if I sum that up for one year it would be 806 km. That's not totally accurate for sure, but I'm surprised that it's actually close to your numbers.
  9. Let us know how it turns out. Fortunately I don't have much experience with defective heels. And if so, only on cheap ones which weren't worth the repair.
  10. Oh what a pity! Hopefully you'll be back with some new boots soon. Unfortunately 12cm+ heels ain't that widely available for good prices as the lower ones are...
  11. Haha you're so funny 😀 I also like hand-writing. Writing on the PC may be more efficient, but a hand-written paper is just something different than a file or printed file.
  12. That's a very detailed inventory you did! I never actually did an inventory of my heels. If I find that a pair is worn out or I don't like it anymore (which never really happens...) it has to go. And new pairs come by themselves anyways 😀
  13. Some great news here 🙂 @mlroseplant Great new heels! I'm sure you will manage them soon after a bit of practice. I'm totally with you that it's not that much about the shoe itself but the ability to walk properly. Here we all have our standards of how much skill we want to have before wearing them out. What I don't really have is that there are better and worse days, at least not for the heels up to 12 cm. Maybe that would happen if I'd take a few days or even weeks off. For the 13 cm heels however I could feel the difference when I was wearing them more or less. I wore my 13+ cm boots out 3 more times and can say that I'm finally done with practicing at home 🙂 It's really fun to wear them out and I'm glad I have some winter time left to do so. Afterwards I'm also looking forward for the Hot Chicks again, I wonder how easy they might feel then 😄
  14. That's also a good way of practice, to get higher throughout the day 😉
  15. I read this as if "Person X" is generally a person who's out for confrontation. If he wouldn't have confronted you for your outfit or whatever he probably would have for something else. I can imagine that you get attention for dressing more feminine, but that shouldn't keep you from doing it if it's what you want. I also get attention for my outfits although they're actually normal in my view, but I guess it's the heels that drag the most attention - which is also my intention. I vary my outfits mostly by the shoes. But what seems different is that I don't get confronted. People like your "Person X" are the ones who discretely but noticabely roll their eyes and make comments about me behind my back. I learned to ignore them as I don't want to have anything to do with them anyway.
