MackyHeels: Hell of a leap from eating an entire bag of potato chips to dressing like a slut is asking to be sexually assaulted. O.o

Yay! Was in the Lauderdale Last Call and there were two other guys separately trying on heels
First time I've seen other guys openly trying shoes on from the women's side.

Happy Birthday. Looks like you celebrated in style.
However I do differ with your opinion of the second pair... those are far from mundane (commonplace, not unusual, and often boring). I don't think anything with 5" stiletto heel falls into that category. Those are great shoes, even for such a mundane activity as grocery shopping.
Yes, I was stating dinner was fun, grocery shopping was mundane
Those Steve Madden pumps are only 4.5", not 5, btw. hehe There used to be an older female employee at that store that would move quickly into a back room if she saw me in heels, but I do not think I've seen her there for quite a while, and have not had an issue. I've also had no-one mention my heels, as compared to times I'd wear a motorcycle suit shopping and would get several comments.

My husband could never understand how I could walk in 2" heels, let alone 5", but they are not his thing.

And i would say a distinct lack of surprise from shop assistants when I'm shopping and trying on heels is further evidence!
Jeeze James you had quite a collection!
I will agree, it's is getting more rare that I get asked if they are a gift, more common they offer the pair for me to try on before I ask.

Aristoc:I am quite happy with the comfort and quality. Have worn them for a few hours so far and expect them to mold perfectly to my feet. Still not sure how long it will be for me to wear the 5.5" out and about though
-
Thighbootguy: about fifteen minutes to put them on for the first time, about five to remove before bed. I did intend to make it easier to keep them on then remove them
The rounder toe is comfortable, and while snug on the sides I can tell these will break in wonderfully. I really was hoping for 4.5" heel and not 5", but I was able to make dinner, feed dogs, do laundry, etc around the house last night. These might be my training boots.
I remember trying on a thigh high Hot Peppers ballet boot years ago. Only tried one as it took 45 minutes combined to put on/take off and i could tell it was too small.

I will agree, the time is better now then ever before. Go for it. Wish I did decades earlier.

I got them at a Timberland outlet. Sales guy double checked to make sure I knew they were women's and had a heel

I really need to catch up with some of my purchases
Reverse order here is my newest pair, from a Meiman Marcus Last Call I found a pair of Louboutin gaetanina 100's. Turns out Louboutins 100mm heel in a size 40 is 4.5", so I got a workout when shopping today.
I'd hit a Louboutin Boutique as I wanted to try the Hot Chick 130mm, but they were too big. Oh well, they look great but the heel is too high for now.

Not sure if Mr. Louboutin has made exceptions to that rule, but some of his heels look really high. To my eye, the line gets crossed at anything much above 4". But we all have our likes and dislikes!
Considering he's put out a few models listed as 130mm, with size 40 Hot chicks being measured closer to 137mm. But to go with his point I've not seen people walk in them as gracefully as 100-120mm.

TSA has seen it all before, but you might get a smile for breaking up the monotiny of their day as you remove/put on your heels.
