  1. I'd like to have a meet and greet for this area. Since I am relatively new here, perhaps someone with a little more experience in putting together a meet and greet that would be awesome! I'd even add a page to my website for purposes of signing up or advertising.

  2. Well I have not worn my heels to the dentist yet; have dentures no reason to go until I break them or need new. But I would wear my heels to the dentist.

I feel comfortable wearing my heels where ever I go. I do, though, hesitate just a little when I have to go into a Lowes, Ace Hardware or stores like that. It is at those places I just have to walk in like I have nothing to be ashamed of and I don't.

So wear your heels where ever you go. Maybe one day society will catch up with out shoe choices.

I often wonder how many people prefer boots over pumps and how many like sling backs and how many people like wedges and how high of such do you prefer

I prefer heeled sandals over pumps, prefer t-straps over pumps, and prefer ankle or calf boots over pumps. Guess you can say that I prefer most heel styles over pumps UNLESS the pumps are very well made and fit me like the proverbial glove.

Do you folks feel genuinely short if you aren't wearing heels?

I know I do! After wearing heels for some time now, when I take them off and walk in flats or bare feet, I feel shorter. 95% of my heels are 4" or more so the difference is pretty big when I switch from heels to flats.

  5. Heelster, here is the info for the Ohio walk:

Shoreline Park - 411 East Water Street - Sandusky, OH 44870 - Date is Saturday, August 4th at 9:00 to 12:00. Click here to go to their listing.

  6. I have participated in the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes numerous times. They used to have it closer to me like in South Bend, IN, Indianapolis, IN, and other local cities. Now if I want to participate it seems that I have to drive further to do so. Great cause and I support it fully. I believe there is going to be an event in Ohio in the month of August, I think. I will probably make that one if I don't find others closer to me.

  7. Welcome! Glad you joined and look forward to seeing some of the heels you have. If you are like me, you have a good selection. Love the heels you have on in the pics.

I encourage you to continue to make strides in wearing your heels in public. I know it can be intimidating at time, but just be confident, be proud and don't put too much stock in other peoples narrow view point. I have found that for every poor reaction, I get twice the affirmation from others. I cannot tell you how many times a complete stranger has complimented my on my heels or have told me that they wish I had my balls to wear heels. So keep strutting those heels!

  8. Hey all I have my new blog up and running at My High Heel Blog

Been thinking and planning for this for some time. I am very passionate about spreading the power of men wearing heels, women's clothing etc. Society is so stuck in the past that it cannot embrace the future or individuals that want to express their own style and personality. My blog is created to be an encouragement, a place for advice, a place to share what I have gone through and am going through in this journey we call life. I invite you to check it out, leave comments, etc. It as much a blog for you as it is a story of my life. I will still be here on this site, so do not think I am just leaving. I am expanding my world to reach more, to teach and encourage more.

Hope to see you there, and as always, keep strutting those heels! Chow!

  9. Thighmax, I commend you on exploring what makes you feel good in terms of clothing and shoes. I can relate. I have been going through a similar transition. For me I started wearing heels over three years ago and now wear them the majority of time in public. Just recently I have been going through the process of wearing women's clothing. Not wearing dresses yet like nzfreestyler does (and I do wish I was at that point in my journey). But I do sometimes wear, blouses, shirt dresses with skinny jeans, etc.

What I did to help me create a look and outfits is hire a stylist who worked with me and went shopping with me when I was out looking for new clothes. There were many time that she would look at me when I picked something out and she would tell me, "It's too young", "Won't fit your body", etc. Plus she helped me with colors (color blind). So now days I do wear women's skinny jeans and such when I am not at work.

I hope you will continue to push the boundary of your style and become comfortable in what ever you wear. Don't let society's narrow mind set determine what you should wear. We are all unique. Be colorful, be bold, be YOU. And do it with pride and confidence.

  10. I agree with all the posts that the "click" or "clack" of the heels is just part of wearing heels. But I understand how you feel for the first time. That's why I always recommend that as a guy if you are going to wear heels in public for the first time, choose a less busy place to make that walk. That way you won't be, lack of a better term here, freaking out if someone hears the heels or notices you wearing them. It's kinda like when you try a new dish, you don't just take a big bite rather you take a little taste, see if you like it. Same goes with your first time walking in heels in public. Start small then take walks in busier venues.

Bottom line, people are going to look. Some may shake their head, some might even make a comment. Just take it in stride. And remember this, there will be people that compliment you on your heels which will make you feel great.

Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

  11. I am just getting into doing the Freestyle fashion dressing, so my advise is going to be from that end.

I have a stylist that is working with me as I try to figure out what I like and can wear in women's clothing and believe me I probably drive her nuts with my sometimes off choices. In any case, in terms of leggings, jeggings, or skinny jeans she told me that I can wear jeggings with my heels and a long tunic dress or shirt dress. The most important part of the shirt dress is that the bottom of the shirt will cover your derriere. I have an outfit put together that should be here Friday. I will post a picture of it here for you.

In terms of leggings she did not think that would be good for me to wear. Leggings are more like exercise tights in construction. Now she said I could wear with a longer dress and get away with wearing my heels with them. As for skinny jeans, they are more casual and go best with my booties, thigh boots, etc.

Oh by the way, love the heels you are wearing! They are sexy as hell!

Hope that helps a little! Good luck!

Hi Everyone. I am a 34 year old male from the UK. I have always had a thing for wearing skirts. In the last few weeks, I have discovered I now have a thing for heels. I have just bought my first pair of heeled sandals, which I can't wait to put on. I own my own business, so I normally can a chance to get dressed up into a tight skirt, stockings, and heels after everyone has gone home. Looking forward to posting some pics.

Welcome igotnewshoes to the site! Looking forward to seeing the pics.

I started the opposite way you did in that I loved heels first and walked in them for a few years and just recently started to wear women's clothing in addition to the shoes. I have found that women have such a wide selection of things to wear while as a guy I am limited in what I can buy in men's clothing. So now I am beginning to put together outfits of both men's and women's clothing to create my own style. Believe it or not there is even a fashion trend called Freestyling which embodies what I am going. And here I thought that I was being original, hah!

Anyway, welcome aboard! Check out my blog sometime, Wearing Heels, It's a Journey

  13. I agree with HappyinHeels in that you will have to do a lot a practicing walking in those heels before you will become comfortable. I would encourage you to do stretching exercises to both strengthen your leg and ankle muscles. You have GOT to be flexible to be comfortable.

Also, bear in mind you have a natural heel height where you will be comfortable without having to go through developing your body to handle the extreme angles of higher heels. Like I am 5'10" and based on my height, my good heel height is between 4" and 5". Can't change that much unless I want to go through the time and effort to stretch my body to handle the added heel height.

Good luck and keep strutting those heels!

  14. One, like to say welcome to the site. Two, think it is about time to trade in your well used heels for some new ones.

Might I suggest taking a look at the Shoes of Prey site? At their site you can custom design your shoes be they classic pumps to sandals to suit your tastes and fit. Cost is around $ 130 to $ 160 per pair of shoes, but that is not too bad a price for custom heels!

    Again, welcome!

What's everyone's experiences with the various gel inserts for high heels?

I wind up buying the cheapest kind with a rubbery surface to stop the insert and my foot from slipping.

The fancier ones that feel smooth and have a skin I would think would be too slippery and they also feel thinner than the ones I buy.

I also see the inserts that are full length with arch support, but those also look a bit thin in the ball of foot area.

Online, I see there are pads that have toe loops to keep the pad in place in relation to the foot.

So which inserts do you personally like and why do you prefer those over others you've tried?

I have used SOFSole Ball-of-Foot Cushion pad before. They worked well, provided good cushion but they were slippery as you mentioned in your post. I bought some ball-of-foot cushions from Shoe Show store which were made with cork (I believe) but they provided a non-slippery surface which is great to have when wearing higher heels as they keep my foot from sliding forward, especially in open-toe heels. They were not as expensive as gel heels but did both needs pretty well...cushion and a good surface. Also I have found the tape on gel inserts to be not as stable (sticky) as the cork insoles I use.

First I apologize for not doing this sooner. Been on the site for a little over a year and really enjoy the stories and banter between members.

Well then I wish you a belated welcome to the site!

I agree whole heartedly that men's shoes are so boring! Like you I love heels for heels sake. And there are so many styles, colors and heights that if I bought a new pair of heels every day I'd never run out of new selections! But I must remain sane and not go crazy on my shoe purchases though I do have quite a few pairs. In any case glad you are on here, if you ever have questions or such, just let me know.

I do have a blog that you may want to check out, "Wearing-Heels - It's a Journey".

    Chow!

  17. Hey Cat, think you are the guy I need to work with to make this event happen. You've been around this site longer than me and may have some real good ideas on how this can be put together. Let me know.

In my mind I would like to see it as maybe some shopping, seeing some sights, etc.
