  1. LovesHiHeels,

Great story. Glad to hear you were able to find somethig you liked. Please consider sending a letter to the manager of the New Look store about their poor customer service. There's no excuse for their behavior.

Next time I go into New look and their behavior does not change then I might say something.

  2. LovesHiHeels it seems we are in the same boat when it comes to shopping for heels, i looked on their websites beforehand and im surprised you managed to find many in sz9 that you liked, as soon as you drop down to sz8 you get three times more choice, and then think "Maybe if i choose a slingback i can get into them" :)

Theres so many more styles i liked that were only available at sz8 or under, and even when i get to the shop they have very few pairs above sz7, have you noticed any of this?

Stores do seem to have alot of size 9's on their web sites but when you get to the shop there is very little size 9's there. I think shops only keep 1 pair of size 9 in each style in stock. For a little while now I been looking for a classic black leather court shoe and I just can,t find them. Shops are happy to order shoes for and have them sent to your home address but as I keep telling these sales girls I need to try them on first.

  3. Last Sunday I went to Guildford.I wanted to replace a pair of sandles with a smaller pair that I bought afew weeks ago. Since Barratts closed down there is only two good shoe shops Guildford now, Faith and New Look. I had a look on their web site and made a note of the shoes I liked in a size 9. This saves time when I get to the shops as I don,t waste time looking for shoes when the shoes are not made in my size. First stop was New Look, which has their shoe department up stairs. Which is good as your are more out the way. Had a look round, hoping the sales girl would come over to me. They did not, which meant I had to go over to the sale counter and ask one of the four sale girls . When I ask for a size 9 and it was for me all four of them gave out a small laugh. I was going to try them on. I got the impression that the sales girl did not want to serve me (to busy talking to one another) or know much about the stock New look carried. I left with out try any on. My next stop was Faith in a department store. Faith only have a small selection in this department store and took only afew minutes to look around but had to wait as the sales girl was talking to 3 or 4 blokes( must be friends with her.) Once the blokes left I was able to talk to the sale girl and she was able to find 1 pair of the 4 pair shoes on my list. I tried them on and had a little walk. These shoes fitted very well and are very comfortable. I was able to have a small chat with the sales girl and she said I walk in them very well and she said she wished she could walk in high heels. I bought the shoes and left. On the way back to the car I popped into another Faith outlet and tried on a pair of size 8 slingbacks as there were no size 9 shoes in stock. Did not buy them as the shoes were abit small for me but at least the sale girl were helpful. This was my first shoe shopping trip on my own in a near by town. I would do it again.

  4. This heel meet went very well. I got there late but still had to wait for another member to turn up. We had a quick look round most of the shoe shops at Cribb's Causeway. Found a pair I like in New look but didn,t buy as I wanted to look round the other shops first. I am sure these shops would sell more if they arrange shoes in sizes. Having to keep asking the sale girl for a shoe in a size 9 each time gets boring and I want to move onto the next shop. We then went over to heelfans shop and he made very welcome and made us a cup of tea. He has some very nice shoes there. I still wanted to go to Carbot Circus so the other Simon and I walked down there. Faith did have their shoes in group size and I found a pair of slingbacks in a size 8 [i,m a size 9 most of the time] that fitted very well but was not sure I that was the style I wanted so didn,t buy. New look had a huge selection of shoes. I was in shoe Heaven. Much better then the New look at Cribb's Cause way. I found a pair of Brown leather court shoes that I wanted to buy but did not have in my size. I did buy a pair of blue wedge slingback for £10 which I wore driving home. Wished I had more time to look around these shops but time was getting on and I long drive home. Left around 7.15pm.
