  1. The criteria seems in need of some clarification

are we basing our heeling level on

    - height of heeks

    - how well we walk in them

    - do we wear in public

    - in what wY do we wear in public, day/night, covered/visible,

    - do we wear at work

    - do we wear with friends family etc

  2. Whilst i agree that we should dress appropriately for our surroundings and climate, we are then further hemmed in by work and social 'norms'.

Wearing a short skirt as you get older is not in any way different from us blokes wearing heels.

We who dont want to be judged and fit in to society's stereotypes should not judge others for their expression

    my 2 cents

Always nice to see the new shoes others are getting! Great inspiration as well.

I've gotten quite a few new ones over the past months but have been too lazy to take pictures. I blame the heat! Here's a selection of my additions. I've gotten quite a few more but that would be a bit much to post. :cheeky:

No one made any negative remarks, just two women asking why I was taking my shoes off. I told them I knew they would set off the metal detector. The only other reaction was the one girl smiled when she saw what i was actually wearing as shoes.

    And the end result.......

you grow another small step in the heeling journey with the added confidence of realising that:

So few, actually notice and no one cares.

You get a knowing smile or a 'nice heels' comment every so often.

but for you now, airport screening holds no fears,

Welcome to the mile high heeler club

    well done

  5. Out and about in the Sydney CBD at lunch time, gorgeous spring day. As close as i get to a suit (jeans and business shirt)

wearing my brown long JO MERCER boots.

Just thought id share a few pics. I had the ripple sole put on as soon as i bought these for added wearability and less slip.

These are right up there as my faves at moment

my dream is to go to a night club, wearing tight jeans with a pair of stiletto boots, and with it, a leather jacket, and then just dance like hell, for the fun, one day it will happen.

That "One day" will come aling sooner than you think. As is oft stated here on the board is that the main thing holding us back is our own headspace.

As you expand your journeys and become more comfortable you will wonder what you were worrying about.

The main thing in your plan that wouls stop me is that i cant dance for crap.

I can waltz properly (took lessons for my wedding). But dancing.... Nope !

    good luck

  7. Sitting in a KFC having late lunch.

Wearing a pair of knee high platform boots that i bought recently on ebay. $20 thought it was a steal, then i got them.

Half way (maybe 3/4) towards falling apart but decided i will just wear them till they die.

synthetic 6.5 inch heel and 2 inch platform. Surprisingly comfy and easy to walk in

like to to give myself safe dares.  Current one is to only fill my car with gas while in heels.   So exciting when running low.

Does   anyone else have such routine dares for themselves?

Next is to have lunch out all week but I must go in the restaurant in heels

    Welcome !

like most you've started slow and becoming more adventurous as you go on. I like the dares idea, gives you a goal to aim for, and im sure youll find that as you progress from 1 dare to the next that they will become less "safe" as you would describe it.

as each dare pushes the boundaries a little further i sense that in less than a years time those strappy red shoes will likely be getting worn out and about.

    GO ON !

    I DARE YOU !

I agree, this is pretty darn cool, but there's one thing I can't quite understand, and maybe someone could explain this to me: How is the way this man is dressed inspiring to a young gay boy? I am often seen out and about dressed not-too-dissimilar from this man. Could I in fact be an inspiration to a young gay boy, even though I am not gay? It seems like sexual orientation is getting confused with mere fashion choices.

I think that is one of the biggest issues many here face.

Society stereotypes heel + man = gay in general

    so to answer your Q.

You may inspire a gay person to express themselves and wear what they like. But your not inspiring the 'gay' part, you are inspiring the shoe wearing part.

And at the same time you may be inspiring a straight man to also wear heels.

At the end of the day I don't think it matters what we intend but if it has a good effect then roll with it

i hope that this made some sense. I haven't finished my first coffee this morning so im not responsible for my comments

Shoes go straight through, be they trainers, sandals, brogues or stilettos. At least over here, and in Asia, Afrca and Australia.

Not quite so anymore. Many heeled shoes and the famous RM Willuams boots have a metal strengthening piece in them from the heel. Plus the inner part of a good stiletto is normally a metal tube.

plus on boots with zips etc

i travel a fair bit domestically here in AUS and have been pinged several times. 2 weeks ago i beeped and got sent back. Had to sit and pull up jeans. Take off long boots with 8cm stacked heel. Put yhem through and try again. Then you have to sit and pop them back on

i normally take them off in advance and pop them through the scanner but forgot this time.

The girl running the scanner just smiled and said i love those boots

Great looking heels & outfit. I have a similar pair from Woolworths, a retail store chain in South Africa, much like the UK's Marks & Spencer.

Usually I don't like Leopard print clothing or footwear, it brings up all sorts of images of how a woman shouldn't dress or behave.

BUT, these are awesome. They look amazing & just go to show that all stereotypes are made to be broken.

You look incredible in your boots!!

I stopped in at wittner outlet and showed 1 of the girls the pics. She pulled me up.

    " They're not leopard print, they're giraffe print "

    i stand corrected
