I have not had any luck at DSW the past few years in finding larger sizes.  At least at the stores.  Most everything there stops at size 10.  I like trying on the shoes in person.   Merry Christmas all.....    sf

I've noticed at the dsw near me that for the past year they have been carrying up to size 11 now!

Really attractive pumps. Hope you find them very comfortable.

Thanks! I was wearing heels all day the day I bought them so they felt super comfortable when I tried them on at the store. But after trying them on again at home I realized they will definitely need a few hours around the house to be ready.

Switching to Vibram or similar heel tips will get rid of the noise, but it will not affect the fundamental problem. Glad to hear your Maddens are sound. I evidently did not read the previous posts carefully enough.

Agreed it will not fix the problem but it should be alittle piece of mind untill if/when the problem gets worse

I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman I just got, and the heel flexes. I wonder if it's like a boat, where flexing is better than rigidity, to a point...

Other than the sound and the heel tip wearing out quicker from it springing back straight every step I'm sure it's not to big of a deal. Just more of an annoyance.

If it's both, I guess it might be all right. Perhaps the shank is a little more flexible than one would like. I've never had a Steve Madden catastrophically fail on me, but then I haven't really ever put a pair through any kind of endurance test, either. All of my Maddens are dressier, flimsier shoes than what I would normally put serious miles on. Your boots look like they could easily do some serious mileage, so I guess time will tell! Keep an eye on how the heel tips are wearing compared to your other shoes, that will tell you a lot.

Oh it's not the steve madden boots those are rock solid. It's the black ankle booties that are a lower quality brand. I didn't notice it in the store on carpet but once on a smooth surface I noticed.

I might just try changing to a better heel tip see if that helps.

Is it both shoes, or just one? And which way does it bend?

It's both shoes. And I think it flexes in towards the shoe. I can't imagine it moves more than a 1/16th -1/8th of an inch. It's very subtle but I can hear it when I release weight off the heel

THose look like very nice bootsm, although it is a bit hard to get a sense from this angle. I've always been a fan of ankle boots.

They are very comfortable, just over a 4 inch heel. Although I have noticed the heel flexes just enough that I can hear it slide/ straighten when the weight starts to be released off the heel

  8. I picked up some new steve madden (kare) boots this weekend from nordstrom rack and i wore them out shopping today!

I was originally unsure about the orange laces but after receiving 4 compliments on them just today! I don't think I will be changing them out.

They are very comfortable I think I might have to order them in the other colors.

Peter Chu ,Sobern propose Oxford shoes. Just ask for the real leather option

I was actually looking through the Sobern heels the other day and thought several of the styles sure do look alot like Peter chu.

I'm assuming they must be the same

  10. I manage to get a second day in a row to myself! Went out sunday to a rather large shoping mall an hour or so away and did some shopping. Sadly everything was very picked though and I didn't end up finding anything.

I wore my faux leather pencil skirt and my black aldo boots! It was a fun day wandering around but now I'm on the look for some stiletto boots since I think they would have completed this outfit a little better than these block heels.

I had a major injury years ago, spent significant time in hospitals and years recovering. I'm held together with many pieces of titanium.  My "pain" comes from a bone spur from that injury that they don't want to go in and fix.

Years ago I determine that my knee and ankle problems came from ill-fitting men's shoes.  Men's shoes just are NOT designed for my feet.  I've had very little problems since I switched to women's shoe. My orthopedic doctors agree that I need to have at least a 2.5 inch heel too.

I had a similar experience when I pulled my hamstring a few years ago. It hurt all the time and I was limping for months, one day I put on a pair of heels at home and suddenly my hamstring barely hurt and I didn't have to limp anymore.

Let's just say that was the most amount of time I've spent in heels 😄

    Great look there!!!

Hows the girlfriend these days? Has she learnt tolerance of you in heels yet?

    Thanks!

Sadly no there hasnt been any change on her opinion of me in heels. I'm still trying to find a good way to explain/show her that they are just shoes and no one cares that I'm wearing them.

Its not like she doesnt love heels herself she probably has 50 pairs. Most of which are 4" or higher.

Maybe someday I'll find a way to change her mind or atleast find a way for her to tolerate it.
