  1. Not (necessarily) a dangerous question, but, I'd really like to know, How do you complement a (usually) girl who is dressed in a gothic way? Here in So.Utah the Gothic look, which I rather like, is looked upon with about the same amount of favor (by the cops, the ruling majority, the predominent religion, most employers, etc) as a guy wearing stilletto heels and a dress. I would think that someone in goth dress would appreciate all the support She or He could get, but as an extreme introvert, I don't know, and would hate to offend..

  2. AMD 1700+ XP processor 512MB DDR-266 SDRAM 40GB 7200 RPM Maxtor HDD; 4.3GB Toshiba 3500 RPM laptop drive (hey, it has my LimeWire'd Photoshop 6.01 on it!) MSI-K7N-420-Pro (nForce chipset w/ built-in GeForce-2 graphics, Sound, and 10/100 Base-T) Lite-On 24X CD-RW; Toshiba 16X DVD; Iomega 250MB internal zip drive; External 2.2GB Castlewood Orb Drive hooked to internal Ultra-SCSI controller card (circa 1995) 56K modem (wireless is only option here, but can't afford the $300 installation just now) Phillips 107T 17" Flatscreen Monitor LexMark Z52 inkjet printer; HP ScanJet 3300C flatbed scanner; El Cheapo scrolling laser mouse and Labtec speakers; MoBo box has 5 noisy fans, not counting the one on the 325 Watt Power Supply. My laptop started life as a POS Compaq Presario 1685 w/AMD 380MHz K6-2, 64MB RAM, Win 98SE, 4X DVD, & 4.3GB HDD; I took it apart (more than once) and it now has a 450MHz K6-III+, 20GB HDD (only 18GB recognized by the BIOS--see POS, above!), 192MB RAM (again, BIOS won't recognize any more, were I to install a 256MB SoDIMM), WIN 2K w/bugfix no.2. Contrary to every post on the subject, it installed just fine, as a new computer version after a total disk wipe of WIN98SE which sometimes crashed several times per day! Talk about POS's. I agree with the joke about failure being built-in at MicroSoft. DVD only recognized as a 12X CD-ROM, but what the hey--it dropped as many frames as it played w/ WIN98SE.

  3. To Laurieheels: I would date you aaaanytime! Unfortunately, you probably are looking for someone a bit younger than 48... My ex-wife hates heels--feels they are an invention of men to keep women down. I tend to agree...On the other hand, they have a definite enslaving effect on what Lucy Liu calls "the dumbstick" (see Ally McBeal). My oldest daughter, 22, maried, also hates heels--uncomfortable. My youngest daughter, 12, seems to favor them (but can't understand why I would want to wear them--heels are for girls). Oh well

  4. From personal experience among a very conservative religion of which I am a devout member (LDS, Mormon), and among Christians in general, at least in America: The crux of the problem is this--What seems to be a logical conclusion, on their part, isn't supported by the facts--but since they are sure of their "knowledge of the facts" they never bother to look up the REAL FACTS. And if they are confronted with them, the usual reaction is "Don't confuse me with the facts, my mind is already made up!" Logic dictates to them that a man that wears ANYTHING feminine is gay. The facts are that somewhere between 50% and 67% of full transvestites are completely straight heterosexuals. I think it is a stereotype issue--no one who actually looks at the differences in making love between a man and a woman, as opposed to how it is typically done between a man and another man, could logically conclude that an otherwise straight man who wants to explore his feminine side could possibly want to be made love to by another man! But religious folks typically DON'T think about this because doing so is dirty, or a sin, etc. So they settle for stereotyping, and stereotypical logic, and that is why they can't see beyond their nose.

  5. One thing more... If it gets too hot or smelly you can always cut out the cotton crotch...which is really uncomfortable without some other underwear underneath, but do you really think most women don't wear some form of bikini or thong brief under them most of the time? (Unless of course they're in a hurry or getting ready for a HOT date...).

  6. There is absolutely NOTHING that compares with the FEEL of aproximately 9-12% Lycra pantyhose ("Just My Size" brand 'Lasting Sheer', 'Light Support', or 'Naturally Bare'; K-Mart 'Awake!'--when I weighed less than 200 lbs; etc). Clear nail polish works well on runs; using reinforced toe hosiery, along with clipping, filing, and a little nail polish on the big toe also keeps the runs down, and since I don't wear open toes too often, if all else fails I "cap" the pantyhose around the big toe with duct tape. I haven't bought a pair of men's socks in 20 years--acrylic or cotton knee-hi's are also nice, as are women's athletic and anklets--and they come in other colors besides black, white, or some tinted shade of gray! C'mon, guys, if you've made the plunge to wearing PUMPS? to work, do you really think ANYBODY at work is going to NOT assume that you also wear pantyhose--even if you're not???

  7. The appropropriate punishment for the officer who gave the order would have been to order HIM to "dress smartly" and then force HIM to run carrying his backpack in a similar pair of heels. I have always felt that there should be some sort of law that required males to wear high heels at least once a month for a day. If the officer in question had had any experience as to what it is like to wear them, he would never have given the order in the first place!

  8. sit on a table or other platform too high for your feet to touch the floor. Relax, just let your legs hang. Have a friend put a ruler or other straightedge along the ball of your feet so that it extends backward toward your heel. measure from your heel to where the straightedge is--that is YOUR ideal heel height--for me about 3-1/2 to 4 inches.

  9. A previous job at the Nevada Test Site required alot of driving, among other things. Probably due to several falls as a kid, I developed a bad right knee that would ache unbearably while operating the gas pedal for long periods unless I stuck my left foot under my right heel. On the way home on one of my weekend 160 mile commutes, I discovered that the women's high heeled pumps I had just bought in a crossdressing frenzy solved the problem without putting a crick in my left knee as well! A short anatomical explanation that I learned in a Physics class for life science majors: Seems that ALL the muscles in the feet connect thru tendons that go over the kneecap to anchor to "processes" on the upper thigh bone. Supposedly related evolutionarily to when we all were fish. Anyway, if you sit on a table too high for your feet to touch the floor and just let your legs dangle (relaxed), you will notice that your foot assumes an angle with respect to yourlower leg that aproximates what it would be in if you were standing in about a 4 inch heel shoe. This is the angle your foot assumes when the tendons crossing the kneecap are in their most relaxed state, consequently driving in high heels relieves (my) knee pain. When I was laid off, and took up trucking for a couple of years to make a living, it got to be a real pain to change in and out of my hi-heeled mules when getting out of the truck. I decided to try and find some chunky heeled women's boots that I could wear all the time--it took until I had to give up trucking for other reasons to find really comfortable platform boots, but by then I was hooked on wearing them in public, and have been doing so for about 2-1/2 years now. That said... What I REALLY want to know is if any of you know of any websites that cater to only partial crossdressing (or for that matter do any of the regulars on this board enjoy partial crossdressing) in hi-heels and/or "obviously" women's pants (by obviously, I mean having an unconventional means of fastening them that most men wouldn't dream of wearing--such as side buttons or zippers, back lacing or zippers, or even the "chemin-de-fer" sailor-buttoned saddleback jeans that were popular in the mid-70's)? This has been a fascination of mine ever since I was an adolescent. I have never had much use for dresses or skirts, even on women! And I am straight, as well. Thank You for listening.
