  1. i am a big supporter of wedge sneakers...i bought 3 pairs in 3 months this year and i end up wearing them quite often during weekdays and all the time on weekends...i even ventured in a 1 week business travel to australia and china and i brought only a pair of wedge sneakers as my non formal shoes... i have been strolling around brisbane, hong kong and yes i am pretty surei did get some looks here and there (mostly from women or guys fashion-conscious). other then some sore feet at th end of the day (compensated with some nice foot massage) i am quite happy with my heeling around the world

  2. i love wedges but I still have not found my style with them... I had this hate/ love things with wedge sneakers last year and now I have 3 pairs (which I am wearing whenever I am not wearing formal shoes for work)

  3. An interesting take on things, HappyinHeels, which goes along nicely with a discussion I had just yesterday with a male co-worker. Why do we do the things we do, aesthetically speaking? Every person on this site has a certain degree of not caring what other people think, but it seems unlikely that anyone could truly "not give a damn" 100%. Let me recount the aforementioned conversation to explain what I mean:

My co-worker Rich used to be a body builder, so in light of the "problem" mentioned in the original post, I asked him how I can make my butt bigger. He began explaining a couple of exercises I could do, when another co-worker, John, interrupted us. "Why would you want to make your butt bigger?" he asked. Rich said that it was because, as a middle-aged man, he still liked to get the odd glance from women while out and about. I replied that I wasn't filling out my jeans as well as I'd like to. John looked puzzled, and after some thought said, "WELL. . . I've NEVER had much of a butt. . . Can't say that I've ever CARED. Why do you?" (Yes, he really talks like that all the time, with a huge amount of inflection in his voice).

It's a question that really can't be answered easily, if at all. Why do I care? It certainly isn't to get looks from women (or men). It certainly isn't for my wife, who has never complained about my looks anyway. I can't see my own butt, and I can't see that pleat in the back of the jacket while I'm wearing it. So why do I care?

I guess you care because you like to take care of yourself...bet it matching a jacket with a pair of shoes or filling the jeans with the butt.....

I guess this is very personal and we can go to very extreme points of view here...you co-worker who cares less is a clear example

  4. i agree with the others, it takes some time and several walks to get to the right confidence level...over the week ends i am always in my wedge sneakers last week end i dared and wore my wedge sneakers to a car meeting and noboody noticed or even blinked so i guess it is all about your self confidence

  5. interesting topic probably the most important change is with yorself and getting athe look you want to have for yourself given your description of yourself, you may not want to look too feminine, so go and look for some wedge boots or sneakers for the beginning (you will nkt believe how stealthy they are) jeans will go with most anything and then pick some nice shirts or t shirts...best thing is to try for yourself and create your own look

  6. i like this thread!! beside the buffalos, another pair that i find quite cool and heel hiding are the marc jacobs' wedge sneakers, they are also available in simple colors like red, black, white and blue. they should have a 4" heel, i saw some looks on lookbook and they are very nice looking, even some guys were pulling them off quite well i should add only downside: the quite high pricetag being them designer heel

  7. you look good! i get the same feelings when i go out heeling , becaue i als tend to think all the world would be staring at me (which is actually not happening at all..)but then as i go and do my things i tend not to think about this and i eventually cool down i have to admit that whenver i catch somebody giving me a strange look , i do find it rather amusing because i try to figure out what they would be thinking :

  8. How old are you, wedgemao? Were they parents-in-law of your girlfriend or wife? You clearly have a partner, does she know about your heeling and approve? Or not?

Yes, the buffalos are great for stealth heeling. I'll try it sometime in the future when the time is right.

i am 34 and my wife does know about my heeling passion since its very beginning about 2 years ago...

i could not say she was the happiest at the beginning but then she found out the I am still myself (and actually I am her best advice as far as shoes are concerned) and now with the wedge sneakers she is very cool about it and actually likes this type of shoes.

I gave her a pair of wedge sneakers as gift earlier this week so she'd have her own pair and we were thinking of getting the same pair of nike sky high dunk...

oh by the way, the buffalos are great!!! i am looking for a 2nd pair sometime soon

  9. I'm thinking, now that I'm able to TALK about heels with my parents, I must get them used to the idea and the sight of me in heels.

My plan is to wait for a moment when my sister's not at home, and when dinner's ready, I'd just go and eat, with my wedge sneakers on and see if they'd notice anything. They'd probably notice my increased height, and when they ask I'll just show them and ask what they think about the shoes.

What do you think? A good idea or not? If I'm not taking any action, nothing will change.

I would say to go for it...

i tell you about my last heel-adventure:

last week I had my parents in law coming over for a visit and I was wearing my mustang wedge sneakers (like yours..) with tight jeans rolled inside the top of the shoes (this is how I usually style them and the buffalos as I guess I would get the best and most fashionable look) so the shoes were clearly visible...

my father in law, who is a carefull observer and likes fashion just as much as I do, after some time came to me and questioned about the shoes...if they had some sort of wedge or else because they looked kinda strange....I nodded and smiled and said there was a little boost and that they were "mustang shoes" (i am into muscle cars too) so they were cool shoes nobody has over here..

All he did was agreeing with me and said I was looking cool with the outfit!!!

I guess he did not like too much the kind of shoe but because he has a totally different and more classical style..

  10. i love wearing boots: i have two pairs and have been wearing them during the spring and autumn but not much in the summer. i'll post a photo in my gallery.

this is a pair of sexy heels!!
