  1. I have seen men in heels or "women's " shoes 5 or so times. It has not happened back to back... maybe once a year or so! Twice this year though... plus the Hunks in Pumps walk (which doesnt count). Im working on getting out there... soon...

  2. I too have made the switch to womens jeans... and I love it!! My girlfriend loves the way they fit me and the amount of compliments I get are astounding. Whenever I wear women's items in general , I get a ton of compliments from ladies all over. I guess they just like seeing something different. If you have a nice figure and great legs, why not wear something that helps to show it off?? Old Navy has awesome fitting jeans. You can also find great deals at the Goodwill.

  3. One unfortunate thing that we have to remember is that we are all thinking on a level that the general public does not think on. Most people are not free thinkers and are not taught to be such. They follow crowds, specific figureheads, and generally adjust their lives to the popular opinion. Anything outside of the popular opinion or their own understanding or comfort zone leads to some form of fear. Fear then leads to a form of the basic 'fight or flight' which could be either ridicule or actual violence or a general avoidance. Sorry to go all deep on everyone, but when you do something that goes against society's general opinion like men wearing heels, they're going to go into that slight shock, unless they're fellow intellectual open minded people. You can't let that hold you back though. You have to live your own life and enjoy this one shot you get. I wear shoes from the women's department daily, even at work. Now to be fair, they're not heelsand they're usually unisex looking (loafers, moccasins, etc) but they're what I like and they're appropriate for the situation. Make it work for you.

  4. Steve - great advice! I'm definitely becoming more open to wearing all footwear and not just what society says I'm supposed to wear. Bluejay- Thanks! She is a great girl, and just to clarify, the woman in the picture with me is a former co-worker who came to support me. I didn't mean to mislead anyone if I did. My girlfriend is amazing... I'll post a picture sometime soon! SleekHeels - Thank You very much! I have worn that outfit before without heels and got alot of complements, so I knew that If I picked the right color pumps I'd have even more wows... I guess I cheated... lol! JeffB - I have admired your work and stories for quite some time now! Thank you for your support! I believe I may have actually seen you before way back a while ago. Your face looks very familiar and I have family from Reading, Pennsylvania. My grandmother owned/operated Betty's Paradise and it was very popular in the 90's. Perhaps we passed each other by at some point! At any rate, thanks for your compliment! I always try to put full effort in anything that I do! Happy Heeling!

  5. Hey everyone!

The Hunks in Pumps Event was a blast!! I had a very interesting time!

I got there at about 11a and slipped on these:

    post-14900-0-51127700-1351399501_thumb.j

I walked my way up to the designated area, passing 3 hot young women who worked at a bar. They peeked out and gave me high compliments and cat calls as I made my way to the event.

There was a great turn out. At least 150 people were there to support a worthy cause. Many men in heels, some fakers who didn't even try, and plenty of women all participating in the fun!

We started off with a High Heeled Military Workout. Push Ups, Stretches, Burpees... all done in heels. I had to pass on the Burpees... lol.

After the workout, we all did a short race around a block. Again, I had to pass on the first place action! I made it around in my own time, then after a little more mingling, the entire crowd went to a restaurant together, where prizes were given out based on who had the best outfit, best painted toes, biggest blister, etc., etc....

When many took off their heels, I kept mine on the entire time! I loved it.

After it was all over, I said my goodbyes and went over to the mall and did some shopping while in heels.

I actually got alot of attention while in my heels today! I had some girls approach me and ask me questions about my heels which led to a great conversation. I also made some connections regarding my music ambitions, and the guys didn't even really mind my heels. It shows that people truly don't care...

At any rate, I went to visit my girlfriend afterward (who knows about my love for heels and really doesn't care too much) while wearing my heels, and after that, this rookie heeler tapped out and put on some flats.

It was truly a great day. You all are right though. I am definitely ready to begin wearing heels more often. Days like today really make you question why you we don't just do it.

    Thanks for all your support.

Here's a pic of me and what I wore:

  6. Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I started a post, so I figured I'd inform everyone about how everything has been going with my heeling evolution. In the past 12 months, I've purged my "women's" shoes, went on a shoe drought for about 3 months, had some really strong soul searching moments, and finally, with the help of everyone here, have decided to embrace my love for shoes and high heeled footwear! Last month, I posted in another post about walking through an airport to get a rental car, and doing it all while wearing high heels. post-14900-0-02294700-1351314393_thumb.j I thoroughly enjoyed that, and it made me realize that I really do love wearing heels while out and about. It should NOT be something that only women can do without ridicule! Fast Forward to today, I'm super excited because tomorrow, I will be participating in a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk called Hunks in Pumps! All the men will be wearing high heels! I cannot wait for a full 2 hours of walking in heels without ridicule! To prepare myself, I took a special road trip to the mall in Dale City (Potomac Mills) and went hunting for high heels. I did some online shopping at www.torrid.com, and came across some very nice pumps in larger sizes!!! From this website, I decided to head to this physical store so I could try them on. When I got there, I chatted with the staff and informed them about what I was looking for and the reasoning. They were all giggling and giddy, but informed me that they get men in here shopping for heels all the time! (We are not alone!!) So I immediately selected this hot set of leopard and black pumps: post-14900-0-18317200-1351314293_thumb.j I was in love as soon as I slipped them on my feet. Incredibly sexy, and easy to walk in. I felt so comfortable in them! I truly felt liberated. I tried on multiple pairs in wine (dark reddish/purple), nude (which were incredibly sexy... Im kinda upset I didn't grab a pair), royal blue, studded black, and fire engine red. When I tell you I've never had such a "should I, shouldn't I" moment like this one, please believe me. I've never been so torn about decisions of which shoe should I get!! I spent at least 30 minutes bonding with the sales staff! They were envious of how well I walked in the shoes, and one of the girls even said, "Your stance is even better than mine!" I had a blast with these young ladies! We even became facebook friends. I ended up grabbing the leopard and black as seen above, the wine, the blue, and a pair of wonderful black flats (Hey Dr. Shoe... :-) )! All these wonderful shoes would have cost $50 a piece (except the flats which were $20), but I caught a 40% off heels sale and a BOGO 1/2!!! A $170 purchase for $69 bucks... That's an awesome feeling! I was incredibly happy, so I decided to wear the heels through the mall! A first for me! I walked through the crowd and was actually approached by several women who told me that they loved my shoes. I got alot of hugs and conversations out of all these young ladies! It was alot of fun. I did have a few men looking at me funny, along with a few giggles... which is understandable, but nothing rude was said. I also had some youngsters being ignorant. Two high school age girls were walking behind me, and when they noticed my footwear, they stopped talking and I saw one of them preparing her camera on her cell phone out of the corner of my eye. When I heard the shudder noice, I told her if she wanted a picture, she could have at least asked. She replied "I didn't take a picture" and awkwardly walked away. lol... people and their foolishness. I went into Nine West and met a beautiful young sales woman who was interested in me and my footwear (I liked her flats also.... lol). She helped me try on several styles and shared a very beautiful smile with me! I didn't see anything that I wanted to spend $40/$50 on, so I parted ways with her (I should have asked for her number!) and walked back through to my car. An awesome high heeled outing! Tomorrow is the High Heel Walk, so I'll be posting some pics of that tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

  7. Ilk, you may not think so, but somebody somewhere does look up to you as an example! I look at you and all the members here as examples for BEING YOURSELF! So there! I look up to you! Lol Aside from that, that has to be awkward, but she just a) trusts you and B) is unnerved about the social stigmas that her mind is making bigger. If it were me, I'd feel weird too, but I'd probably help the kid this one time and then let nature take its course. He'll continue to do whatever he wants and that's ok! That was supposed to be b.) Not B)

  8. I think the majority of my fear has finally subsided. I walked through the airport with 4 1/2" stilletto booties on (Christian Siriano) this past weekend. For the first time, I felt really natural and unnerved. I just walked, conducted my rental car procedures, picked up the car and drove off... all in the heels!! 30 Minutes in Heels in public! A new record!!! It truly was awesome. I really feel hindered while wearing flat shoes at times. I love the high feeling I get in heels (all fun with the pun!) And Im getting more addicted to the feeling every outing!

  9. There's always mixed feelings when you are dealing with long time friends... I recently had to cut a friend off due to some circumstances beyond my control. Just remember, everyones not meant to be in your life forever... for one friend that you lose, you will gain another, or 2 or 3! Its not the end of the world. Keep figuring out who you are and the real friends will show themselves!

  10. The reason we're all here in the first place is because according to society in general, men don't look good in heels. I get the point you're trying to make Tech, but don't throw all men into that box like the unwashed masses do... especially when you're going off your imagination and not what you've experienced or seen. Its kinda unfair and closed-minded, especially coming from a moderator for one of the most free-thinking and open-minded forums I've ever been to.

  11. Right there, that was probably the worst thing you could have done...

You took it to the extreme, right from the start....

Why would you dive right into the Stilettos as the very first thing she see's you wearing?

Do you have the shape for stilettos? (Most guys dont, far from it)

Hey Tech... that was actually me... not the original poster. I already told her but seeing and hearing are two different things... lastly I'm built like an NFL linebacker so no... I don't have a small feminine stiletto frame but I am in tremendous shape.

  12. Some really excellent advice here! I'm currently going through a similar situation. I'm on my phone typing this so I can't link the story right now... later perhaps. At any rate, I told my new gf on our third date (we went to Nordstrom Rack aka SHOE WONDERLAND!) and I mentioned that I could walk in heels. That didn't freak her out, but when we went a few weeks ago, she had the shock face when I tried on some vince camuto pumps... We had a pretty lengthy discussion about it and it got somewhat resolved. I'm not a daily heeler, so we haven't really had the need to bring it up again, however here's what I plan to do: I'm going to let things naturally run their course and continue to be my heel loving self. If she decides that she cannot handle it, then we'll both move on. I actually know for a fact that there are women out there that think men in heels is a turn on. I dated one before her. When we get caught up in feelings and emotions we tend to forget that there are more girls out there... and she's not the only one attracted to you. You can't change the love for shoes. Personnaly, I've purged 2 times only to get the itch again. It just doesn't work. I encourage you to be yourself and also follow your heart. Final thoughts, she's probably not worried about u being gay/crossdressing. She's overanalyzing the fact that other people in her circle will think you're gay or a crossdresser and a million scenarios are running through her head (what will mom and dad think?? What will friends say?). You can try reassuring her, but her beliefs will always be in the back of her mind unless she wants them to change. U cannot change her... she has to do it herself. You'll be fine at any rate. There is nothing wrong with you and wearing shoes is not like a cocaine addiction or sexual misbehavior. They are shoes... nothing more nothing less. Be yourself and make the choices you want to make.
