We talked and realised that we have so much in common. Being both born around the mid fifties, we had the same sort of experiences.
Sorry I couldn't make it. When Xa and I last met at Paradiso we found our paths had strayed astonishingly close at times.
-
Just an outside chance I could make it on 15th. I'll try to let you know nearer the time but I may not know until the last minute.
-
The H&M ads currently on billboards in the UK have some nice looking heels.
-
Xa, thanks for the write up.
Can't remember the maker but in Selfridges there was a perfect pair of 4" heel knee boots for a mere £595. The upper of each boot was made from a single piece of superb quality black leather. Not a seam in sight.

TB2, it will be good to see you again. I somehow don't think I'll be wearing the boots that you sold me on this occasion
-
Thanks, Fog and Xa, look forward to seeing both of you. I should be able to get to Paradiso by 1245 and I'm free until about 1600 for eating and shopping.
-
Having tried and failed to make it to a couple of meetings I think I might actually be able to make this one if there's room for me. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be up in central London anyway later that day so I should be able to come a bit earlier for lunch.

I may be one of the first to say this but surely not the last.
Sorry to see you go.
We're all fed up with the spam but if the board owner has lost interest there's little more that we can do.
Please also see my PM.

You may not be locked in to any contracts but the cost of getting out could be high. Look at clause 11.3 here:

That's what I do. I am just about to go with talkTalk myself.
I would think long and hard before going to TalkTalk for broadband.

AFAIK their customer service has been utterly overwhelmed by the demand. And there are other problems.
Don't touch them, even with the highest of heels.
Hvaing said that, I'm with Plusnet and they are having big problems at the moment. Heaven help you if you need to contact their customer service at the moment. I'm researching who to change to and it's probably either Zen or Eclipse. Zen are a bit expensive but have a superb reputation. Eclipse are not expensive and seem to be doing well.
PS: Dr Shoe, if you don't have your own domain then drshoe.co.uk and dr_shoe.co.uk are both available.

There is some bubble packaging with huge bubbles, about 4" (10cm) square. These make a very loud bang if you stand on them. I suspect that a stiletto heel would make less of a bang as it might puncture the plastic before bursting the bubble. A subject for experiment.

I've just noticed that, like Tallboots, I've graduated from the flatties.

Just keep a pair of heels in yer Ford and it's almost certain you'll be a street heeler
Probably true for a Lotus too.

Standard question to ask a Lotus owner: "Did you get here under your own power?"
I understand that Lotus cars have now vastly improved their reliability.

If you are running XP (possibly 2000?) there's a very handy little picture re-sizing tool available here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
To use it all you do is right click on an image file and use the resize function on the menu.

Here's a useful link which also has a link to a map of the location. ISTR Time Out did a very favourable review of their "eat all you like" buffet a few months ago.

I'd like to come on Weds 21st but it depends on work commitments.
PS: Just found Paradiso's own web site:

I don't. I pay £10.99 per month for unlimited broadband, free calls in the UK and 28 countries including the US anytime night or day.
That sounds like a great deal. Which ISP?
-
Here in England, Christmas seems to start just after the August bank holiday. You begin seeing christmas stuff in the shops then. At least in the US it can wait until Thanksgiving. In any case aren't Christmas and Chanukah just a case of northern hemisphere religions hijacking good old pagan solstice celebrations.

Shalom Akev44 She is lucky that she and her SO have the same size feet. I think the page is localised so while you may see Hebrew in Israel I see English here in London.

I saw some boots rather like this at a shop in Burford (about 30 miles west of Oxford) a year or 2 ago. They were in the sale but none in my size. If anything, the zip went round even more of a spiral than the ones shown in this thread. A nice, unsual and quite dramatic design.

TB2, It's certainly a nice day in London for not working. Those are good looking boots too. I didn't think there was a Next Clearance anywhere near us - or did you get them in another part of the country.
Your concerns / fears when going out in public
in For the guys
Posted
I live in what is supposedly a nice middle class area (no hint of urban "edge") and recently gangs of girls have mugged 2 guys in broad daylight. One of them was quite seriously hurt. Both guys were just ordinary adults walking along minding their own business. Makes St Trinians look quite innocent.
