  1. On the general subject of new heel taps, are there ones that are softer and therefore won't make impressions on a wood floor? I know PU is softer than metal (!) but is it still hard enough to make a mark? Any recommendations for how to avoid marks (apart from not wearing stilettos)?

  2. Hi all, this is my last post as Im giving up the wearing of womens shoes for good. This was a very useful forum and I wish all you guys and girls the best of luck.:wavey:

I think a lot of us have tried this. Most start again and have to buy another lot of shoes. I know, I've been there.

  3. I was married for eighteen years. I now like my freedom.

It's been said that marriage is like a bird cage. There are those on the outside trying to get in and those on the inside trying to get out. Every relationship has its ups and downs. I've seen people who have clung to their freedom (ie not get married) all their lives and then feel lonely and bitter in their old age. Conversely I've seen others who have enjoyed every minute of it!

I'm fortunate in having a very happy marriage, but I can look back on times when the seven-year itch was getting to me.

  4. I will never marry, because my freedom is who i am. And i could never be with a woman that thinks like that, i have no girlfriend and glad of that.there is more to life than having a wife, and having girlfriends.

Your choice. I sympathise to a certain extent, and I think a lot of males are more reluctant to commit themselves to a relationship than females are because they're afraid of losing their freedom.

Just don't be surprised, though, if after all your resolve you meet someone who will cause you to moderate your thoughts!

  5. Funny thing. I usually always get a pain in my lower back when standing for a long time for example at concerts, but yesterday when I was waiting for the queen for over 2 hours, I did not get any pain. I attribute this to my heels.

Exactly the same for me. It's standing or shopping that causes the biggest problem.

  6. Just to pass on something I heard at the weekend, not in the context of high heels but regarding having the courage to set up in self-employment when a lot of your friends in dead-end jobs ridicule your daring to step outside their comfort zone: On average, only ten people will cry at your funeral. Why should you bother what people think who don't care enough about you to cry? Also, if it's raining, a lot fewer will go to the burial (obviously doesn't apply to cremation!) because they don't want to get wet. Sound familiar? It's not only heelers who have hang-ups about what other people think!
