  1. Besides my usual four-inch stiletto, I also wear a peep-toe platform, and on a dare a stripper platform, even ten steps in a ballet boot; all with ease. But I draw the line here. Most people think that in one of the afore mentioned shoes I am pushing the envelope of sanity into the danger zone of further leg injury. My attitude toward the heel less shoe is that I will read the reviews about them and not succomb to the act physically trying one, and my record of wearing any type of heel with crutches has one exception. E

  2. I wish that I could come up with a solution for you. Did I see somewhere here that you leg has already been lengthened? I know that lengtheniing is a long, painful, and expensive process and I take my hat off to you. And wearing a heel on your normal leg expands the equality factor. My picture shows me in a four-inch heel which was necessary to prevent my crippled leg from draging on the floor as I walked. The alternative was to wear a built-up shoe, but my being a heel lover, the choice was obvious. E

  3. my shoulders and neck hurts a lot when i do not u a full lift. i have had a leg lengthening. my leg was fourteen cm shorter. do you see often women with one shorter leg?

I have seen very few women with a short leg here in the states, and in most instances, the shorter leg has paralysis and she uses crutches. My leg in the photo was of equal length with paralysis and I used crutches for mobility as depicted in my photo.

  4. It appears like you are getting nowhere in trying to accomodate your leg length discrepancy and I am sorry about that. Your shoemaker is probably correct, but you may have to contact a manufacturer that has platforms and with heels up to 8 or 9 inches and see if they would be willing to sell you a few that you could furnish to your shoemaker. E

  5. No need to apologize, Megan. I am always willing to try to help someone out and in this instance, may have gotten in over my head. Had you not mentioned my name in your first reply, I would have jumped in any way, just not with both feet as the old cliche goes. And I do hope that the young lady can find a solution to her problem. There is a surgical procedure followed by months in a frame device that does lengthen the limb. It is super expensive and time consuming - about a year in an adjustable frame device. E

  6. Hi Marit, Sorry to hear of the discrepancy of your legs. I wish that I could come up with a remedy to help you out. I am not at all experienced in this area as my situation is that of having one leg. But I gave your situation some thought. With the popularity lately of platform heels, there may be a soluton there. Since both shoes have a platform, would it be feasible to add to the thickness of the platform and to the heel. And, do both shoes have to be exactly equal in heel height and platform thickness? I hope that you can come up with a solution that will allow you to exercise your love of wearing heels. I share your passion but in only one shoe. Please feel free to email me if you wish. E

  7. I travel by air quite a bit for my job, usually on a commercial airline and a couple of times a client has sent their executive airplane to pick mu up and return home. I would not call it a problem but an experience, going through security. After getting out of my briefcase/backpack and removing my usual four-inch stiletto I head to the scanners on tip toe because my crutches are sized for me in a four-inch heel and are not adjustable. I enter the scanner and hand my crutches to the attendnt and try to stand still on one foot during the scan. The personnel at my home airport know me and are very accomodating. After the scan I ask the attendnt to place my shoe on the floor and slip into it while standing. When I travel I wear a pump, slingback or even a mule and avoid a sandal or pump that has an ankle strap. Completing the security process is always a good feeling for me and heightened when I hear my heel click on the hard flooring but not the cadance of a person in two heels. E

  8. I did a lot of partying over the holidays, between Christmas to new years day. After a bit of dancing and some alcohol induced intoxication, I see so many girls end up barefoot because they are no longer able to handle their high heel slippers.

Strangely enough, I felt proud that I was able to keep my high heel boots on for the entire party. LOL

You hit the nail on the head and have summed up my experiences very well. I too can be in my shoe all evening and then some. I usually use crutches that are custome made for my height and not adjustable. If I slip out of my shoe my crutches would be too long.

  10. I think that I have prevented having problems with the shortening of tendons by slipping out of my heel upon arriving home from work. After changing into something casual I go about whatever has to be done barefoot. Being in a warm climate allows me to move about out of doors barefoot which also helps. E

  11. Sorry that this is still a problem for you, Sangue. We do not have a standard for shoes. As the highest ranked female, I wear any shoe that is in good taste and my female staff do as well. Naturally, we do not allow stripper platforms, but the current pllats with or without peep toes are ok. No beach flip-flops but if any want to wear flat leather thongs, its ok. Toe cleavage is also acceptable. I'm told that several women after seeing me on my crutches and doing very well in a heel, they have taken up wearing heels where they previously had not. E

  12. All of my left shoes are in racks on the walls of my closet. Each show has a number on the outside of the sole just in front of the heel. Right shoes are stored two to a box on a shelf with the numbers of the shoes inside displayed on the end of the box. A few friends and some of my staff wear my size and if shoes for a special occassion are needed, they borrow the pair from me and save some good money. In most instances I have to caurtion them that the right shoe has never been worn and that she must wear the pair prior to the occassion and "break in" the right shoe. So far, all of the shoes have been returned in very good condition, and her legs and feet as well. E

  14. For as long as I can remember I have loved pumps with toe cleavage, especially slingbacks with a four-inch heel. The only drawback is that they do not dangle is well as conventional pumps. But in my experiences with dangling, when the shoe drops off of my toes, someone eager to replace it always appears.

  15. I have to agree with the taboo that Bootcat mentions. It probably could be a cullture item, simply that men do not wear heels or any other woman's shoes. But when he does, a man derives the pleasure of bucking the tide and pushing the envelope of social correctness. And then there is the thrill of mastering what some woman cannot do, or will not try - walking in heels. This is much the same as the feelings that I felt when I first tried a heel while using crutches. I posted a little story about it in the stories section, also one one about wearing one "stripper" platform with crutches. Thanks for posting, Bootcat. E

  16. I just remembered something about nude shoes. While cleaning closets and I was very young, mom came acrss two pairs of springolaltors that she had worn a decade or so ago. She also told me that someone came out with a sandal similar to a mule but no vamp or heelcup. There was nothing to wrap or cover the foot. The shoe was held on the foot by means of double sided tape that ran from just above the toes to the heel. Unfortunately, mom had never worn any so she could not say how well they clung to the foot, if at all. Anyone else have any experience with these? E

  18. I read somewhere about "displaying the beauty of the female foot," and I have always been a fan of very nude sandals or an open-toe pump that displays more toes than a peep-toe. And fortunately, I live in a warm climate and enjoy a nude sandal year round. E
